Hi, I respectfully disagree. If you leave it to the grinder it will never be exactly flowing the same way and you lose consistency. If you always use a WDT, a leveler and tamp with a spring loaded tamper, you will have a greater chance of having the consistency. I can bag 25 seconds over and over and over using this consistent method. I use an Orchestrale Nota machine and a Ceado single dose grinder. Perfection!!
That's a great point, You're absolutely right that WDT (done properly) will be more consistent. The point here was to test if its absolutely necessary or if the grinder gives a pretty good distribution already. It's a commercial focused grinder so targeted towards people for which speed is just as important as consistency, and using WDT every time might not be realistic. Hope that makes sense

Whats the retention?
About 4-5g in our experience when changing grind size or coffee. Definitely not designed to be a single dosing grinder
