For anyone asking, the glove box has to be removed in order to access the fan assembly When replacing mine, I disconnected the negative battery terminal first as this is what feeds the constant 12v.Symptoms of mine failing were the fan sticking on despite the ignition being off. I simply removed the fuse until the replacement resistor arrived

My resistor was placed deep inside behind the polen filter ,,so I had to take off the filter cover to be able to reach to the resistor ...it was very tight place but I managed...once again. I am confused. The part shown is described as a Compartment fan regulator by autospares suppliers and retails at over £150. The fan resistor is something else that looks like a little heating coil in a metal frame and retails at about £14.
You describe the part, then say it is behind the glove box.... then the camera is immediately zoomed right into the area, so it's hard to tell where behind the glovebox, the resister is. It would be better to start with the camera pointing at the wide glove box hole, then moving into where the resister is.

Hi i have a Zafira 2010, Same Resistor as the one in your video. I have blower settings 1-7 - None of them work! I tested the Volts on the cable from the resistor to the Blower Motor which is reading 10v on setting 6. Could the Blower Motor not be working? if so how do you disconnect it all and test?
My heater rezistor is heating and starting to melt to wires. Any idea what could it be? Wrong resistor or faulty fan blower since it blows air on all 7 steps...

Probably the relay mate if its not working at all, id check fuses first though if it is a blown fuse id be checking for loose/corroded/melted connections or it will likely blow again.
Ha ha ha, found it! I've dismantled the fan blower from the dashboard and cleaned it with air compressed where the rotor and brushes are meeting. Working now :-)

Hi ! I got an Opel Astra G from 2002 , with automatic climate control . One day I've hit a very big pothole with my left wheel and bumper and immediately i notice that on the climate control panel instead of degrees ( from Low 16-17-18 up to High) is showing " PR " and also is not possible anymore to switch off the climate control unit . ( only to reduce the fan up to minimum ) On OP-Com tester on Electronic climate control module is showing 3 errors (EEPROM DEFECT and the other 2 are related to eeprom) . I went to different mechanics but all of them start changing parts but still no chance. ( i've chance this heater blower same like in your video , also the 2 engine fans computer in left bumper near the wheel , the climate control module inside car. If you can any idea what should i do know please reply ! All the mechanics i found are all idiots and this is a fucking 15 years old car , i cannot imagine how they repairing a new car fully packed with computers and electronics .

That's sounds like radiator fan to me
Resistor is in radiator and will need a water or antifreeze top-up after and a tool to take it off

I found it, it juat under the glove box. I had to remove the lower plastic cover, as well as thd glove box.
How do I know if it is damaged?
Check control relay as well
Check there's 12v to back of that control knob
If not there's relay problem
