- After a long break we are back with the next installment of the Pokemon Adventures Manga review! Today we will be talking about Pokemon Adventures XY! The XY arc is actually insane! It is brutal and ruthless in more ways than one. Just when you think it's just physical it hits you mentally and really gets you to think! Needless to say Pokemon Adventures XY is incredible!
This is the first arc that I will be covering that isn't released in its full sized volumes as of the making of the video. The first three full volumes were out in English at the time and the rest of the XY arc was out in Japan. The next videos I make will most likely be solely based on the mini volumes of the manga. It’s very exciting feeling like I’m following along with the manga as each new volume is released, especially one that’s based off one of my favorite regions
I noticed the whole scene of the Lumiose City citizens being ungrateful for the heroes' efforts parallels the end on the Dragon Ball manga where, until Mr. Satan tells them to, the people of Earth are completely unwilling to give their energy to Goku's Spirit Bomb.
Team flare is literally the most forgettable regular team I genuinely forgot they were an evil team until now

I’m looking to buy the XY Manga. Should I buy the Volumes that are currently coming out or the Box set with 12 Volumes ?
the ones that are currently coming out, the ones coming out have extra chapters and the box sets do not
@@RadKatz Thank you for your reply ! 🙂 Also if you don’t mind me asking, I currently own the Collector’s Editions (Vol. 1-10) & The DPP Box Set. Are there any others that are rereleasing ? Or I can go ahead and but the BW & B2W2 Manags for example ?
@@davidtirchett4471incredibly late response, forgive me. As of right now it seems there are no plans for VIZ to release more collectors editions or box sets. They could still do so in the future, but it seems they are focusing on finally getting caught up in releasing the full sized volumes. Picking up the single volumes for BW and on are probably your best bet!

if 'ya want to skip arcs, RGB, RS, DP, BW, XY, SMUSUM, and SwSh are stand-alones all things considered

there are mini volumes, but the full sized volumes are still being released! They are currently up to volume 4 of XY
I read up to three and haven't found volume four yet.

Easily my favorite arc of all Adventures. It's the most mature and adult in themes. Team Flare gave me a real sense of danger, the group is constantly followed, haunted, persecuted by this overarching, tentacular power that is rooted at the highest level of Kalos, the moral question at the ending is really challenging for the reader and oddly very very political. It felt like a Rosemary's Baby. The continuous push on topics like depression and mental struggles is present. Only the mega evoluton final fight was a bit too much.
