I've got g3 10.1 on order now. Interesting to watch the differences in AC and DC coupled solar. May look into AC coupled solar next year if finances permit.

Would you choose AC over DC then after doing your own research? Interested to know any feedback!

@Heatable I think AC coupled on the basis of the solar panels you rave on about. The rea fusion seems like good panels from your comparison test.

thing is, most people have a solar system first and then get a battery later. so it's almost always ac coupled, esp. if your'e using solar edge. That's my problem at this moment, i'll just have to live with the 10% conversion loss times 3..... ac->dc->dc->ac->ac->dc

Would you go with DC over AC then after watching the video?

@@Heatable that'd be expensive, to throw perfecrly good working technology (optimizers, inverters) for a performance gain. i'll consider itwen my solaredge inverter breaks down, it's now 6 years old..

Since most household items will run on DC I would personally look to fit an all DC system with a small inverter for the few items that need it. Running all of it from a reasonable size battery constantly charge directly from PV. I think micro inverters or running PV panels into inverters is mostly mad and not having a battery is very short sighted.

i worked out i can fit 54 panels on my roof . i wouldn’t want fork out for all of that in one shot.

Unless you have a huge/ unusually high energy usage there wouldn't be a need for 54 panels! A standard 20 would cover most homes with an average energy usage.

Interesting. I would love your system but quote was gobsmacking so expensive it was .12 year before brake even. At best . I still may get solar for the environment if my lotto ticket comes in🫰

Hey Keith, we currently only offer the REA Fusion 2 which is a premium solar panel. You get more 'bang for your buck' so to speak, because of the generation differences between cheaper (non bifacial) panels and ours, so the investment is one that you reap back quicker.

@@HeatableQuicker ! ! just checked quote 14 to 15 for payback also checked with estate agents they say it will add maybe 2 to 5 k to the value of my house. So disappointing really wanted to do the right thing.
