    The per capita income of delhi is 4.61 lakhs. Compared to that, 18LPA with 2 kids and mother living with you, definitely he is middle class. Bloody, stop crying in the comment section(ridiculing them for 18LPA) without any sense.

      Divide ur total family income with total family numbers, if it comes below 5 lakh u r poor, above 5 it's lower middle class

    @ritwikghosh7743 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +28

    For everyone cribbing about 18 lpa being middle class, guys you must understand just the income doesn't define whether you are middle class or upper or lower class, you need to consider the dependent family members as well.
    In Delhi, 30-45k per month may well and truly be considered middle class, but that is for A SINGLE PERSON. When there are 5 dependent members in the family, the number is no longer the same. Standard way is to divide the total income by the number of dependent members( although ideally it should be even lesser than the number reached, bcoz kids and old people have greater expenditures than young single people, but anyways let's not go that deep). So here for a family of 5, to be middle class you got to multiply that 30-45k by 5 which gives us the number 1.5 lakh -2.25 lakh. Hence they are JUST BARELY middle class. To be in upper middle class, their total income should be minimum 2.5-3 lakh per month, no less.

    Looking at the time period of 8 and 14 years, I think it is more sensible to invest in pure equity rather than some gold, they can allocate some money in conservative hybrid funds for stability. Gold can be equally volatile as equity.

    They should focus to build their own corpus for retirement. But as like LIC they again trapping in middle class mentality of financing kids education, marriage and house for their future.

    Hey Anshuman! As always, great content!
    Answer me this thing though.
    This guy here says that he needs approx 2 crore for his kids education. What do you think his actuall ROI would be with this investment. Schools and colleges are getting too damn expensive and looking at the current job market, there are so many skilled people who still do not have jobs. I am just trying to imagine the situation 10-15 years from now and do you really think spending crores of rupees in childrens education would actually be beneficial for them.
    I do understand that there is no other way. Kids education is definitely important,but just a thought that occurred to me. Would love to hear what you think about this! Thanks in advance.
