Man I agree with you. There’re people out there sitting on their fatass judging others for trying out the cheaper and convenient option. You do what you do. Loving this. May get myself the 36cc version in future.
Ra y hey man. Thanks for watvhing and the grt comment. Exactly, we all gotta start somewhere. Why not with somethibg cheap that still offers badically the same features as the brand names do. I rem years ago i never thought id be able to get into 1/5 scales, they were just too much back then.
Dont worry about it we get it all the time flying giant scale gas the guys flying the Styrofoam planes cry say we make to much noise because they are jealous
When i bought mine the other day, i read that they all now come with this 3 channel remote i got with mine, so thats an update ;) Thanks for the video, cheers
hey buddy!! thanks for watching. Can you tell me if you got the same 30.5 CC model as this. Some of the higher level models and more expensive ones are pictured with the 3Ch remote. Im not sure if that was an actual update, or just part of the higher priced model ones.
@@hybrid32494 mine is a bit higher priced model,30.5cc theseller states that all there models now comes with the 3 ch radio. Btw, be carefull running if it's wet, i ran mine through some wet grass when breaking it in, and shortly after i had a runaway, i geus i got water in the reciver, so now i'm changing the reciver out with an spetcrum, and installing an hpi failsafe (hpi failsafe do not requiere 3 channels) cheers. keep e'm comming ;) (the builtin failsafe didn't work)
you and your videos got me really interested in these 1/5 scale gas buggies, It is, I think, your kid like enthusiasm, and more than that, your willingness to learn and not come off like an expert. Go0d Job. but your going to cost me a lot of money! I have 40 years experience with these kinds of engines but in R/C aircraft. The oil you use will determine ultimately the mix ratio you can sustain. I have forgotten the various brand names we used to use, but a good synthetic is what you want, one rated for higher mix ratios. the trick is to get high performance while at the same time allowing your engine to stay cool. Synthetic blends will stand up to more heat and not break down. We used to run 32-40/1 after break in. Red line is one of the best. I used to use Belray, but local availability will dictate what brand you can use. But keep in mind you need to use a high quality mineral oil for break in before moving to synthetics. Tuning these is just practice and experience. but remember a couple things both low and high needles affect each other, the low needle predominately controls tick over and the transition to high. The high speed needle should be set to the best rpm then back off a 1/4 turn or so, then go back and re tune the low speed for best transition. run it rich for break in, and don't try to tune an unbroken in engine. Wait til you have 3-4 tanks of gas through it before you get too technical.
hey bro! Super happy for you! I gotta tell you I've had many Bajas since I had this one as my first, and it never let me down. The 30.5 engine has great RPM and is responsive. BTW if you upgrade to the trencher style rear tires you will get an extra 4 MPH top speed, I hight recommend it. Plus I have a video where I tower a XMASS tree with this Baja, lol. And nothing broke.
hey dude!! thanks! BTW, I just loaded a video last week with this baja doing a top speed run, I got 44 MPH, incredible for a 30CC stock model. Only upgrade is the trencher style rear tires.
@@hybrid32494 I'm uploading a video right now you might want to check out yourself as obviously I've been paying attention to yours as of recently and you might get a chuckle👍💯👊
thanks my dude!!! have you seen the newer videos with the larger rear tires on this, It got 42 MPH with a mildly rich tune and no other mods other than tires. I am looking to get another cheap rovan soon.
That's badass man top speed when fully tuned is probably 35-42 mph. Crazy.... I've seen the HPI Baja 5C and that thing looks exactly like it with more bodyart.
yep, HPI is nuts with their pricing on the 1/5 scales. It's like they are a Ford F-150 King Ranch selling for 70K. Basically just a fancy 30k pickup with nice leather. big deal. HPI really pissed me off with their new Baja buggy based mustang with the 23CC engine for $1300. What a way to up sell and not put much effort into a road specific chassis. And yet ppl bash on this bc it's a clone. LOL.
hybrid32494 But what you don’t see is Traxxas clones much...... maybe the HPI E FIRESTORM but I don’t really think that’s much a copy of a Traxxas Bandit/Rustler
hey buddy! Thanks for watching. All these topspin racing oils perform about the same to be honest with you, it comes down to cost and the oil ratio you run on these. So far the best is Dominator oil, as many gas RC guys tend to claim.
hey man!! thanks for watching!! I love all RC, but this is my first 1/5 gas, These are so cheap and well equipped that they are literally cheap than any RTR nitro t-maxx this days. Plus they have good resale value on eBay, its a win-win. Have you seen the newer part 3-4 vids on this, I finally finished the heat cycles. Love these so far, cheaper running costs too.
If you want quality oil that provides excellent protection under abuse and won't gum up anything you should scour your local walmar for Quicksilver . The only 2 stroke oil I run, gas rc trucks, chainsaws, weed wacker, dirt bikes, sleds, as well as my boat. Zero issues yet, running it since 2003.
Pint? I just paid $23 for a gallon of Quicksilver Premium Plus at my local WM. I am more inclined to trust a marine grade oil since it is engineered to perform in environments where you certainly do not want to break down. I also suggest you do NOT add extra oil to the fuel during break in. Doing so will actually be making the air/fuel ratio leaner because you are displacing the volume of gasoline with the extra oil. Mixing is simple, there are 128 oz to a gallon, divide the recommended ratio into 128 and the answer equals oz of oil per gallon. Example 32/1, 32 goes into 128 4 times, so 4oz of oil to each gallon of gas.
Thumbs up for this video hey this oil looks nice Gr8 quality but that 4$ was not good at all.. good luck for your rovan but I can't wait to see this thing running I have received my order and plan to unbox it on this weekend still watching allot of videos for tuning
ye man theres alot to learn with these when you start out. Next main concern will be mixing the oil and gas to 28:1 ratio. The included fuel ix can is only made for 50:1 and 25:1 ratios. So gonna have to be creative. There are better mix cans you can buy too btw.

hey man, honestly the suspension feels quite ridged on mine too. At first I though it was just broken, eventually it smoothed out a little. This is the main issue with clone RCs, the shocks are rough. LOSI and HPI have much smoother suspensions. But really it don't matter much, handling wise they perform fine anyway i'd say. Your steering issue, that's a mystery, is your remote steering setting at max? maybe dual rate or something is low.
