2016 Curry didn’t even feel real man. Even watching his highlights now from 2016 I forgot how crazy like 95% of his shots were. And most of these shots were contested and on iso off the dribble shots. And he did all this with such a quick release this season. His shot was so crazy quick that season that most of the time he didn’t even follow through if you really look at the games. I’ve never seen an NBA PLAYER make the game look as easy as 2016 Steph.
I do think some of Curry's prime years are underrated, because they were overshadowed by KD and the unfairness of that team. There's a chance Curry had another MVP in him if Durant doesn't join
2023 is S tier, he averaged near 30 6 6 on AMAZING efficiency, and then what he did in the playoffs, yea we didn’t win the chip but he absolutely DISSECTED the Kings! 2023 Curry was one of his best versions
2021 was crazy from Steph He also got a tailbone injury midway which stopped his amazing run. Came back and dropped maybe the best individual month and 2 month stretch the NBA ever seen in April and may 2021
I’ve been a steph fan since his Davidson days, I think in a vacuum 2021 Curry was better than 2016 Curry. He was stronger, tighter with the handle better defender and more consistent in every which way. In 2016 Steph had the greatest shooting season ever, but he still couldn’t deal with double teams the way he could in 2021, and was an average to below average defender at best. 2016 Curry was more ahead of the league at the time with his shooting, but 2021 Curry is definitely better compared to the former version of himself
I think the reason he was overshadowed by KD in their seasons together is because of the system. Teams defended the three and gave up the two to KD. KD of course was phenomenal, but like y’all said, if he was given the ball more instead of going with the more optimal system Kerr devised, we’d have seen a lot more debates on who’s getting those FMVPs.
To be fair he did get injured man. A wet spot on the Houston Rockets floor pretty much made that happen. He still played which is sum they use often but he wasn't there 100%
2021 Curry was crazy if he by some miracle had a better team and won the title that year he would be a goat right now, let me rephrase that 2021 performance was THE G.O.A.T period not as shooter or as a point guard but as a player he would be one of one
2016 vs 2021 is a preference thing. In 2016 he missed so many 4th quarters from blowouts his numbers could of been better On the flip side his supporting cast in 2021 was terrible and he still balled out

2021 curry is better then 2016 he came back from a tail bone injury in like end of march they were like the 11 seed then Steph average like 40 in the month of April to get 7th seed they lost but he did so well to carry his team also he average like 32 points a game and I felt like should of won mvp

fr Steph was still in his prime in 2017 plus in my opinion, Steph should've won mvp in 2021 too

I can agree with this take. 2016 Curry may have the better stats on paper, but 2021 Curry was the mature and polished version of 2016 Curry
