This comment hits the nail on the head. The entire narrative of D2 is different from D1. In the first game we were reacting to threats, fighting for our lives. Bar vanilla, we have been on the offensive for all of D2.

Well there was one Dialoge in Season 9 in the corridors of time (I think it was the last puzzle). There the Saint 14 jhonored the grave of someone and I think this someone is our guardian because he talked about how inspiring this guardian was. Maybe our guardian will die and be revived by the darkness we're we will get our darkness subclass (if there will be one).
@Arigato Senpai not true we didnt really change the future also Shin Malphur is working with the vanguard and his philosophy is pretty much borned from Yor use of the darkness except instead of falling to the darkness, we control it, the shadow was a way to cull the guardians who would be controlled by the darkness (really short and incomplete explanation but you get the point)
Arigato Senpai i’d be pretty satisfied if our character died. Idk why but to me it feels like a satisfying conclusion for the character.

And then we are revived by darkness, and with that, we forget who we once were, and then, we act for the sake of darkness by following a lie told by the same about who we are. And as a way of trying to recover us, Zavala elaborates a plan in which the purpose is to put our old ghost in contact with us, so that the light of our ghost and also his memories make us remember who we are. However, in the tower there is no guardian with enough skill to approach us at the epicenter of darkness. Not anymore, actually. And then the beginning of the end occurs in an "unusual meeting" between us and... Cayde - 7. (Such a story could bring us several cool things, such as a new "darkness" class, a new "epicenter of darkness" safe zone, and many new weapons).

The only critiques are:
1.) There’s too much hang-time, the ships need to move immediately on the zoom-out
2.) The ships appear to only come from one direction, this could be fixed by panning the camera to add some depth.
3.) The ships feel as if they’re moving at an unstable velocity, as the ships’ motion doesn’t fit the perspective
Looks great! My only complain is that the Darkness theme didnt play when the Pyramids entered, that theme that plays whenever we see a Pyramid

Over 3 years later and this still gives me chills. This is what I wanted Lightfall to feel like. The darkness finally arriving to destroy us all for good. The pyramid ships engulfing the skies. What you've made here hits so much harder than anything bungie has shown us with the darkness and final shape so far. This is a goddamn masterpiece my friend, unbelievable.
This makes me realise how much we need to lose. The darkness needs to totally and colossally dominate us in order for this next expansion to go right. We’ve saved the solar system time and time again, it’s time we fight for the galaxy.
But then you remember how long we've been preparing for them, and that we're currently running Guardian Olympics instead of getting ready for them.
I want it to arrive, Zavala insists we cannot allow it to reach any closer than Saturn (Titan) and orders an assault using every available resource we have. The Guardians, Rasputin, Mara etc. A mission or two and then launches into cutscene where the Darkness decimates our forces easily, finally resulting in our guardian standing alone against a lieutenant-esque villain. He kills our Guardian... the same Guardian that has slaughtered God after God, dismantled fate-changing robots, slayed wish granting dragons, prevented every calamity of recent years... laid low by the sheer power of the Darkness.
I can't help but feel, like you, we need huge losses for the threat to feel real enough. This way would give Bungie a way to "wipe our vault" shit again as we'd be playing a new Guardian.
I feel like if the planets slowly and slowly start becoming darker darker. Forcing players to fight against it

D.I. Johnao It’s not that it’s a dom fantasy, it’s the fact that Bungie has been building this threat up to be a big bad for years. If this ends up turning out the way it did with Ghaul and we get some cliche “gud guys always triumph over bad” story, then it would waste all of the build-up for them being a major threat in my opinion. The way I see it, it needs to change Destiny’s universe as we know it forever

That was really awesome! My only critique would be that the initial appearance of the pyramid ships is a touch too fast. If it matched the slower approach of the wider fleet in the scene afterwards, I feel it would maintain the ominous vibe a bit better. Still, the vibe overall was great and the music paced perfectly with it all.

I think he was trying to show how much the Darkness wants this Cosmic War to end. The Main fleet would try and “Blitzkrieg” humanity and the Traveler while the wider fleet would sort out the survivors.
@LemonyLyme I always presume that it is a forward operations force and the main fleet is just sitting out of view waiting to see how they should attack

Drexis Animations The track reminds me of the the overture at the destiny 2 campaign end, in the cinematic where we see some darkness triangles. I have been looking for the track and have been unable to find it, but I think this is it. THANK YOU

Coming back to this video after many people have left Destiny 2. This trailer has the exact atmosphere that bungie lost after 2016. Go and play an hour of D1 then an hour of D2, while a bit of it is nostalgia, the game has a vibe that just isn't in beyond light. I miss Destiny man, I miss that feeling.

BROO THIS WAS SOOOOO COOL, I also liked how there was some dark aura coming out from that guardian floating in space. if I dont see this cutscene when the fall expansion drops I'm going to fight bungie.

This is the type of atmosphere I will always love. Graceful mysteriousness in space. A floating astronaut at the brink of death
or perhaps even rebirth. And just seeing the Darkness ships fly in and hearing the sounds give me such a Mass Effect feel with the reapers and how imminent and inevitable the chaos and destruction they bring is. This is very well made, 10/10.
I hope the fall expansion has this same feel and the collapse leaks are true because the atmosphere and feeling I get from this is amazing. Incredible job. This video got me hyped. I hope the expansion is dark and has this same feel. Feels like a real teaser trailer. This is absolutely amazing.

Imagine a Destiny spin-off set during the Collapse. Like, you’d probably play a normal soldier fighting fruitlessly against the unstoppable hordes of the Darkness, being forced to retreat from the colonies as they are overrun, culminating in the last stand at Earth.

I thought this was covering the Aphelion attack on the awoken space station when I saw that floating body amongst the debris. Either way this is great stuff it would be cool if this was a start of a new trend in this community. Its VERY reminiscent of Astartes imo.

This gives me D1 vibes... That feeling that we are just human, One LITTLE defenseless thing against an army of kings/legends and gods.
In D2 we are treated like gods like " *Hey you the dude that killed Oryx go here and kill bad guy since you are god-like* " Its boring. We need a bit of realism and fear back in Destiny, Just like in D1, We are just one small thing trying to survive in a galaxy/universe filled with savages and monsters.

I have been wondering about the withered and apocalyptic ambiences in Destiny, feel like from a story perspective for a while now.

It's funny how you can see the difference between passion for this game over money and greed. You made me feel fear once again for the darkness. How we all felt knowing this anonymous threat was still lurking in the darkest part of space. We as Guardians who bearly survived the first arrival will now have to face them after 6 years since the start of D1. I love this so much.Thank you for reminding me why I loved this game for what it could be. And despite the Guardian Games, As a Warlock I love you Titans and hunters. We've shed blood tears and countless hours grinding since the start for this final event DinkleBot warned us about. We've woken the darkness.

im a huge fan of good music used in movies, games, and such and may I say, the way the music was used in this was BEAUTIFUL. honestly. when the people are trying to contact the space person and the music gets louder almost drowning out the radio and the music swelling at the end and then cutting to black? *fucking fantastic*

I would love this to take an Astartes vibe and show how efficient our Guardians' are at wiping out mobs and how systematic it might be. A fireteam running through a Strike would be cool.
This video is the prologue, then it skips to Destiny modern day for a Strike and spend two or three clips on that before our Guardians encounter the Darkness once more.
