I really enjoy your content and the thought that you are saving things from just going into the dumpster. Is it just me or does anybody else get sorta of sad thinking that, one day when we die, all the keepsakes we lovingly saved and packed away each holiday for our children or grandchildren just ends up in an estate sale for strangers to dig through?
I think about that too. What bothers me the most is the family photos. It’s sad thinking that one day they may end up at a flea market or donation place because no one wants them. 😢
It definitely makes me think about our possessions and what is left behind and the meaning of it all. We enjoy things while we're alive (and also overconsume bc that's the culture).When we die maybe our loved ones will take interest in our things, often they don't. Maybe they will find their way into the hands of a collector and be loved and cherished or maybe they end up in a landfill. In the end it's all just stuff and we can't take it with us but yes, there is something sad about seeing the remnants of a life.
The gasp I gasped when you opened that box of Megos! Those figures are in great condition for their age. I've sold old figures for parts. There is definitely a market. Excellent grab.
😂 last one. The Planet of the Apes catapult by itself was on eBay for over $200. Looks like you had another part a playset too. 😮 You guys did so well. Definitely grail finds for someone. 🎉

The Mego Planet Of The Apes figures are actually based on the Planet Of The Apes TV show. The catapult and wagon are rare accessories, also from the Mego Planet Of The Apes toyline. I also believe the 8 inch figure in a western costume is also a Mego figure, called Action Jackson.
OMG those figures! The 3 in blue ( astronauts) are from the original Planet of the Apes show. I believe Cornelius was played by Roddy McDowell. I don't know the worth but I think you made à good decision!

I almost spit out my coffee when you said that there's an old version of planet of the apes. My brother would kill for a collection like that. Luckily he kept all of his old GI joes and Big Jim dolls. That's another action figure you should be aware of as well, but that is a great fine and well worth it😊

Love your finds, especially Bear Mountain! It had/has an ice skating rink,a merry go round, a ski run or jump (long gone) and a zoo & a museum & of course the restaurant & Inn. Our kids spent many fun filled days there when they were growing up..
The whole vintage GI Joe line is great for resale, and quick sales at that. You'll be surprised at how much they go for. The vintage action figures are always good...including a lot of Barbie. Planet of the Apes is very popular, especially with Boomers!
The Star Trek character was the same one they use in a episode of Big Bang Theory. Also I have a yo-yo that matches your Santa golf balls. That is so cool that you found all this stuff. If you are ever in Pa. There is a great antique store called Yesteryear Antiques and they have very reasonable prices.

The Star Trek & Planet of the Apes are action figures based on the series of Planet of the Apes Motion Pictures from 1968-1974. Which Starred the late RoddyMcDowell & Kim Hunter as Cornelius & Zira . The Films were very successful and spawned the creation of these action Figures along with a number of play sets for Kids primarily Boys . The same with The Original Star Trek Tv Series of the late 1960s . The Dolls that are in Good Condition will make you money . Or as Janine said The Little Outfits .

We sold a bag full of Mego Cher clothes for crazy money ( over $2000)- with no dolls. Collectors will buy it all, missing pieces and all. Dont underestimate them. Good score

I had the Mego Wizard of Oz set when I was a kid. Not surprising those dolls are in good condition because Mego made good quality dolls. Made to last.
