Would you consider doing a series on how to clean your cleaning tools/accessories? (And go over the supplies that you should trash & replace after X months, uses, etc.) This has been on my mind for months now, particularly whenever I pull out my broom and see how dirty the bristles are. PLUS, no matter how thorough I think I’m being I can never get my Dyson V15-both the core unit and the attachment heads with roller bars-to fully relinquish every last one of those ✨dusty crusties✨that are forever caked to the teeth-things inside the big attachment head. Your videos are so motivational! Thank you for the positive energy you put into every single one. 💛
You are my cleaning professor I love how informative your videos are thanks to you I was itroduced to microfiber cloths years agoI use them all over the house .I do hand wash my dishes I scrap the food left if my dishes with a dish brush then proceed to wash thank u for teaching me so much ❤
Melissa, this is one of the most useful and best posts EVER. I needed to declutter my cleaning tools. Thank goodness I subscribe because you alway steer me in the right direction.
5:20 you can use soap and water to clean cast iron. It's old news to not. I guess something to do with dish soap used to have lye in them and the stuff out now days doesn't.
Yeah plus people don't realize you re-season the pan if you need to. Or you can just lightly wipe the pan with oil after washing. They just shouldn't let the soap and water sit for a long time. But you can't tell folks that soap is OK. They will not believe you. Heh
My grandparents to this day use their brooms made out of long sticks found around their farm. Maybe it is not the most efficient way to clean, but definitely a very cool one!
I use the scrub pads green and blue. Blue for dishes and the green for potatoes. I have only one arm and I can’t get enough leverage to clean them off well enough with a vegetable brush. And yes Scotch Brite is my favorite too. Nice to see you!😊
Awww my favorite cleaning friend. I have a hardcopy of your book, then a copy of your book on my phone so I can take it on the go when cleaning a friend's house from time to time. Your fabulous!
I splurged a while back and bought the home kit with the mop. I'd never spent that much money on cleaning products at once before. I'm converted, I adore your Markers products. I have a bunch of your waffle weave cloths in two colors one for my hair and one for my kitchen. I just ordered your hair wrap because I was so excited when I saw it! I will continue to purchase your items, they are top quality and you always think the product through thoroughly before bringing it to market and I love that!
@@lisacarson6223 I've never used that brand before, sorry! I used to have a Grove subscription and had a few cloths from them, and while her stuff is a little more expensive its much nicer quality. Plus her waffle weave colors absorb probably 5x the liquid as any kitchen towel from Grove and its much larger. So are the regular cleaning clothes 1:1 hers come out on top again!
Great vlog Melissa. My favourite is an old toothbrush for cleaning grout with mild bleach spray and also the sink plugs. These can then be put in the dishwasher to be cleaned
One thing NOBODY seems to do - run that sponge under warm to hot water squeezing it out until no soap or dirt etc is coming out then hang up if it's a cloth or put in dish rack if it's a sponge (let it be able to dry). Same as leaving washing machine open - It reduces soap or filth sitting with bacteria growth environments. You will find doing this with any dish or counter cleaning 'thing' reduces our stops it becoming smelly. This is why I stopped using soap loading sponge on stick things.
This is a very good video. Especially the glove section. I do use both the exam(disposable) gloves and dish gloves. I usually use the exam gloves for either cooking(when handling hot peppers and handling raw meat, I hate the texture), cleaning the toilet and also in the garden, the brands I use are either Microflex or Adenna. Whenever I get the dish gloves I pickup a set of Playtex Handsavers(which only comes in yellow) for the other bathroom surfaces(sink, tub and floor) and Playtex Living 2 pack(which has 2 colors besides yellow) for other areas of my house.
Also, another thing I have in my cleaning are medical masks which are useful when dusting and a set of cotton gloves to put under disposable gloves, since my hands dry out under them, I wear both types of gloves on a regular at work, i work at a factory and I handle chemicals/oils and also to protect the final product from my skin oils.
I am pleasantly surprised by how affordable your products are! I thought I'd have to save up a bit but no I can just shop there on the next home maintenance supplies purchase! Like, wow!
The best sponge is the O-Cedar Scrunge Multi-Use Scrubber Sponge. I found out about the sponges when I watched a review on TH-cam by America's Test Kitchen.
Used to order from a professional cleaning supply company in Idaho. I would have to get about a dozen friends to make a minimum order. Your products are not only accessible, they are in some cases much better quality. I usually order about twice a year,
She has an affiliation with Dyson so she can’t recommend other brands on her channel. If you want comparable brands you should watch Vacuum Wars, they’re as comprehensive as you get
Hi @cleanmyspace, What are your thoughts about 2-in-1 vacuum and mops and robo-vacuums? I have tiles throughout my house and really think the old style sweeping and then mopping is alot of work🙈
Great ideas. I can’t afford a new hoover, so use one that was given to me. He’s called Henry & he’s got a smiley face. Do you have Henry in the US & Canada? I use the sponge washing up brush every day. Brilliant invention. I wouldn’t like to dry my hands 🙌 on a tea towel after drying the dishes etc. I feel that that is unhygienic.
I took the tea towel segment to be about drying fully clean dishes after their final rinse, so it would be just for absorbing clean water from everything you've thoroughly washed, not unhygienic in that case :) Always good to use a separate cloth on dirty dishes than clean ones!
It was all I could stare at the entire segment, lol- though it did stop me from intensely staring directly at the toilet brush the entire time, so thanks buggo! 😅
I hate microfiber cloths because between me, my husband, and my dog, the cloths grab onto SO MUCH HAIR and keep holding on even after washing and drying. Is there anything I can do about that?
This video, like most all your videos are AMAZING Mellisa. What kind of video and audio recording equipment do you use, recommend? I want to try to make some at home instruction/pod cast videos and in the street, Chicago street videos - I don't want to stand out as a tourist, I have some familiarity with trip pods, IPhones, I have a GoPro but don't know how to use it. Do you upload and edit your videos to your main desktop computer (I'm in the Apple Mac world) or do you have a dedicated computer for your video podcasts/ I was getting good at Apple I Movie but just with still photos and music (copyrighted music so that's a problem). Thanks Mellissa, I'm a great fan. I'm also a Cis Midwestern White Guy that the woke world HATES so I have a tough time, impossible time keeping a corporate job. These mean woke college miseducated women seem to get up most days to bother, boss around and fire guys like me. I hope you are being nice to your Chad. 🙂 Jaye Chicago, IL
I apologize if this has been asked before, but you never seem to talk about Scrubdaddy and their collection, Is there a reason for that or do you hate the products?
I have a very small amount of rust around the drain in my kitchen sink. I am afraid to use CLR rust remover. I sprayed a little of CLR on my countertop to remove a rust stain from a metal pan. A little of the CLR dripped onto the outer rim of the sink and discolored it. Obviously now afraid of a repeat.
So glad it's got so many chapters! Can skip around, pause, come back and look up specific info this way, all in one place! Kinda intimidating for a one-off viewing though haha
If you have a spill, it might come in handy. 😂 Some folks have concrete floors. They can be stained, textured or patterned. Great for many messy rooms.
Love your tutorials and tips & i have made up most of your DIY cleaning products for my home. But please, the faint doof doof music in the back ground? Is that really necessary on your youtube videos? All i want is to listen to your suggestions, but the doof doof is so off putting and disturbing that I find it hard to concentrate on what you are saying. Though I'd let you know.

Are there any Shark or different brands of vacuums that your recommend? The Dyson is kinda steep and I’m looking for a more affordable option. Thanks!
She has an affiliation with Dyson so she can’t recommend other brands on her channel. If you want comparable brands you should watch Vacuum Wars, they’re as comprehensive as you get
My cousin has both shark and Dyson vacuums and she prefers the Shark every time
Excited for spray bottle
Hi @cleanmyspace,
What are your thoughts about 2-in-1 vacuum and mops and robo-vacuums?

Love your channel!

I’ve been washing my scothbrutes for years, like past 30 yrs ! When worn out just throw away. Seems to work???

What’s your take on Norwex products?

I didn't see it. What is the time stamp? Haha. Seriously though. And where on the counter?
Help! I need help! Dog threw up on two carpeted steps going to my basement and it’s even dried! Where do I begin??
Can anyone tell me specifically what brand this broom and dustpan set is? I’m not able to locate it - not sure what Melissa is calling it here. ??

Alternative to microfiber? I can NOT stand touching it
How true is it that steel wool isn't allowed in restaurant kitchens because it's unhealthy? I recently heard this from someone.
I think because it breaks off and might end up in the food
Yes, they do shed little fibers.
Did anyone spot the bug running across the counter?? Or just me ?? 🙃😅 I have a 6th sense to detect bugs lol
