Good day my friend, those are heat cracks on your drums. Glad you are getting new drums as machining would only make the drums thinner I used to work in the machine shop. Also, I don’t believe the drums would give you a vibration, except when braking if they were that bad. Keep your chin up, keep pressing forward. I believe you will get it figured out. God bless.🤠
8 lug was csx/cse option only, so no one would steal the tires. the crack are called heat checks by the dot. make sure and buy balanced drums, no otr drums, do not replace the driveshaft have it balanced, switch the hubs to 10 bolt so you can buy rims, forget about the engine gear lash the tick is not that, the adjuster bolt is 9/16, all the cat lovers love them for 9/16, 3/4 wrench and sockets does most of the work on these engines, you have to remove (tilt) the fan hub forward to change the belts, unless you have the long belts that have a idle under the alternator, if your brake shoes are as good as the one you have off just do drums, check the scams for movement you may need bushings, you have to find out if your vibration is moving or the engine parked, a ujoint needs min of two degrees and a max of 15 degrees to work correctly, look up Brinelling on a ujoint and see if you have any of that, i have replaced all five ujoints to get rid of it on high mileage trucks, no play at all just vibration you could feel. if its vibration at parked from the engine overhaul kits are not weighed for rod or piston vs others and i have installed cat parts that the engine was smooth before the overhaul and vibrated at idle with the new ones. and for the love of money grease your fifth wheel. that dry fifth wheel will burn off your steer tires,
This is a good truck
Keep your head up and stay positive. U will figure it out. Keep up the great work and video's.

Record the vibration frequency if possible..Once you find the vibration frequency you could maybe identify where the noise is coming from maybe

I have Never seen eight lug rears on a semi. Are those 40,000 lb. axles? Strange. Todd The retired trucker
8 lug were csx only so no one could steal them.
What vibrations are you referring too?
Ya I’ve seen my share of eight lug semis. I’m sure this question has been asked before but what’s with the turned down exhaust?
@@ronthompson3525 the previous owner had a knuckle boom behind the sleeper so he routed the exhaust out the side
