- I was tired of coughing up saw dust while taking bubble baths, so I decided with the constant "encouragement" from my wife to do something about it.
Boom.
You're welcome.

You are so right about keeping the wife happy. I like the idea of having it blow into the filters. That way you can move it around without dust falling off onto the floor.
Exactly!
also prevents a huge updraft near the fan
Great build! Dropkicking the bucket was hilarious!! 👍👍
Luckily I have like 10 of them
I agree that most things can be done with a 2x4 or 2x6. All the furniture in my kid's rooms are one or the other. New Sub!
Right?
Also, I saw your Pheasant tail vid, looked super sweet!
I agree 100% about spending the 4 hours instead of $10 extra. I do that too. It teaches me for sure and I complain while I’m doing it but I find the education I learn from the thousand of mistakes that are made trying to square up and perfect shit wood from Home Depot leaves me more proud of my accomplishments when I’m done. Liked and subscribed! Ps I like your commentary.
Thanks
And yes, exactly this. Its good practice, you don't get that buying plywood, and if IM spending the money to make my life easier, I might a well buy a vacuum cart.
That suction test got me good. Great vid!
hahaha, thanks, was a last minute decision- Er, I mean... how else do you test for suction????
Your good push downwards montage earned a subscribe - well done sir.
Haha, thanks. I watched that part of the video three or four times while trying to connect the two buckets thinking I missed something- just wanted to share the madness..
Great video! I've been thinking about an air purifier and now sounds like a good time to build one. I appreciate the cost breakdown at the end.
Cost a bit, but was a great addition. I had to paint some shelves and I ran this next to the shelving to let dry, there wasn't a spec of dust or anything on the shelves when they were finished.
Fan caught everything before it could land on them
Welcome back, long time no see! And Yes! protect those lungs! nice video and great idea not going the plywood route. You'll definitely re-organize your thinking about wood working processes and how to use materials effectively!
Thanks!! Yeah, I don't plan on taking 6 months between videos again... geez
I scrounge wood from dumpsters. I’m getting ready to do that now. I never have used pallet wood, maybe some day.
IF you don't want to spend a day or two just getting the wood READY to use, I would advise straying from pallets. IF you got that time, then pallets are great.
SUPER EASY LOL !!!!
only took like 30-40 minutes, so simple!
Thanks for introducing your shop spider buddy!! :-) It just wants to hang out
You bet
I'll update the youtubes when it comes by again.
Ha ha ha...dude, I don't even know you, and yet somehow I knew you were going to test the suction rate properly!
Hahaha, great minds think alike!
I'm a little surprised that you have the fan blowing into the filter box. Intuitively i would have expected the fan to blow out, so the filters catch things on the way in. It would also increase the relative surface area, since the dust doesnt have to enter the fan intake in order to get captured. I need to make my own air filter soon, so maybe i can test it both ways and report back.
I tried it both ways and from what I can tell the air flow is the same. the main reason I had the fan blowing in is otherwise there would be a huge updraft every time I turned the fan on, and it would push dust up and around, and this way the dust particles are located inside the fan, and wont just refall into the air or ground when I move and bump the fan.
At least that's what I found, I could be horribly wrong if someone uses an actual air flow tester and does the math.
Let me know if you do and what you find!
@@thewannabecraftsman Keeping the loose dust contained in the unit is a great point I hadn't thought of. I'd be inclined to try to make a smaller version that I can ceiling mount, so the airflow from the fan would be less of an issue. Got some good ideas to try out, thanks.
thanks for sharing..so sorry you kicked the bucket, but there was entertainment value!
Glad you enjoyed it
Love a little left handed screw action @ 13:13. Unless it's a trick of video frame doppler.
IT "is" a trick, i just reversed the image, looked weird the other way in the shot it was in.
Can't say I have used lefties before in wood working
Yo! those shirtless Henry Cavil pics!
...My friend was using my computer before, I have no idea how those got there...
@@thewannabecraftsman was he using your printer too? I have the same problem
