SUMMER FISHING DEEP BASS (Expectations vs Reality)

- Bass fishing in summer can be hit or miss sometimes. Besides the early and late evening topwater bass feeding, it can be a challenge to find the bass on deep spots like ledges, road beds, brush piles, standing timber and humps. Today I'm on Lake Ray Roberts trying to figure out some deep fishing spots for bass in the summer using the electronics on my skeeter bass boat. One fishing freak figured out the best bite using Googan Baits trench hogs from Googan HQ.

Live just north of Ray Roberts so I fish it quite a bit. It's a tough lake for me. I could show you so many places not to catch fish.

I understand your frustration more than you will ever know. I have been bass fishing Kirr lake (Buggs Island) in Virginia for many years and it changes every day. Between the monster dam changing the water level down 3-8 foot in a couple days and ever changing mother nature. It has to be the hardest lake to catch large mouth in my mind. I hope you catch Mondo's on your next trip.
Dude, when you said lake conroe i felt that. The one fish i hooked into threw the hook. Went there at least 3 or four times.
I'll give you some bass advice for this lake. Use a red 5-8' diving crank bait along the dam about 8 feet out from where the water meets the rock. Use a semi-fast retrieve.
I grew up fishing Ray Roberts and always had more luck up on the far north side of the lake. It's where the main river channel feeds into the lake so my guess is that there's more oxygen from the current that holds the fish better there. There are plenty of trees to fish so maybe try giving it a shot.

I live in South Carolina, I throw Carolina rig almost exclusively the trick with it is as soon as you feel a tap set the hook do not wait until you feel weight they will let it go everytime.

I got a solid 5lb spot on Hartwell in SC just the other week. We have a houseboat and bass boat there if you're ever in the area. We also live on a smaller lake in our actual house but it's 9.9hp or below only.
Seems like my kinda fishing trip lfg. Still trying to figure out how to fish open water and learn my electronics but keep the awesome videos rolling.
Man I've had more tough days than good just like that, but it keeps me fishing. Keep dangling partner!

If you wanna find a hard lake to fish, come to east tennessee in the middle of summer. Douglas lake is a hard lake to figure out. Tight lines, love the vids🎣💯

Have you ever fished Central or Upstate New York rivers and creeks for large Trout or one of our Salmon runs? The Salmon River has monsters and you can find Monster Trout in just about any of out Rivers.
And the White bass king Strikes again! Still love you even though you were on the struggle bus today😁❤️

Ray Bob is a tough lake for largemouth.. I've always had to locate grass.. deep or shallow

Hey LFG I live a mile from Lake Conroe. It would be great to see you try the lake again! It is a very tough lake to fish and any tips would be great! There is a boat ramp here that you need to try instead of the one on 105 like last time.
Man is a ray Roberts a tough lake, lots of opportunity though and people bust some humongous sacks out there. Those little spotted bass are rampant though 🤣

Norfork Lake here in Arkansas is a really good place to fish. There are some huge fish in that lake. Divers refuse to go down to check the dam due to some of the size of fish. Rumors say that some fish are the size of small cars. Plz look it up and see the history of Norfork Lake...it may be something you may would like to check out. Love your channels!!!
