They were all wearing "Team Googan" gear at the Grand opening. Probably some legal hurdles bringing a full blown new Googan on board now with the bait & tackle part of the squad. Who knows? He was legitimately one of the chillest dudes I encountered that day. Brandon & Tristan were too.

For Crawfish, find an area where there's a lot of brush/trees in the creek, and set the trap and leave it out all night. Crawfish are way more active after dark.

Try using a cut up bait fish to attract the crafish into the trap but my go to method was to use cut up fish and spam and you could add a pinch of curry powder
W have those pretty sunfish in the creeks around here I used to have two of those blue and orange ones and a bass and yellow streaker head turtle in a tank I got them all from the same little 5 foot wide creek off a dirt road on the bridge
Crawfish are good for the bass as long as the bass keep them in check. The crawfish will bore holes in the damn of your pond and eventually cause it to leak and erode

Me and my buddies had a crawfish trap, sardines, leftovers, etc. We'd go down the creek till we could pretty much see the bottom, and just throw a size 2 circle hook with a bit of powerbait on it, drag it right in front of them, and those little suckers just latched on and hung on for dear life. It was most likely just the shine of the hook that attracted them. Not sure how legal this would be, but I'd assume that if the bait fish died in the trap, they'd stink up and make decent crawfish bait right?
michael lee it’s actually a longear, pumpkinseed don’t live that far down south, their opercular flaps aren’t as long, they have a red sliver behind their ear and have more of a jagged camo pattern on their body, instead of the blue neon coloration that is mainly along the longear’s body
Hot dogs and cut bait definitely work better for crawdads u wont catch near as many perch and minnows that way. If you want your cast net to open up better than put more spin on it dont throw it slow it will open up better
I usually flip the rocks for the crawfish and have a small net with me, when i see the crawfish i put the net a few inches behind it and scare it from the front. They shoot right back into the net
my best luck with crawdads is when I catch small gills and cut them up and throw em in the trap. take some of those way to many gills you got in the bakery and give em the slice and dice and toss em in your trap.

Ok, the way to really catch crawdads/crayfish/crawfish, whatever you call them...(This is a two or three man operation, kinda like work, but it works)...get a small seine net. Attach sturdy poles to both sides. Place net upright in slight arc, with bottom of net firmly on creek-bed/bottom...across only portion of creek, in rocky shoals area, with good current flow. Starting upstream five to ten feet from net and raking to net, using garden hoe or mattock, turn and roll large to medium sized rocks. Wait for the current to carry the crustaceans into the net. Lift seine up out of water and stretch out horizontally. Place decent size mud bugs in live-well,bucket, and return smallest to creek. You may also catch minnow and Hellgrammites. (Depending on time of year and location.) Continue process traveling upstream until you have an adequate amount of your intended catch. Redistribute rocks as evenly as possible once finished, Always be good stewards of our streams and waterways. Pass this on to future generations, as this was passed on to me.
Didn't the store bought cought about 4-5 the first time. Since the homemade only had one. Hence fast forward tho it might've been 2-3 fish difference but close finish.
Hand catching is always the best way, I i can usually catch up to 25 in an hour, u can also use a . . .bait net (not like your throwing one) in a current u place the net down someones holding, the other is upstream flipping rocks and making the water dirty blinding the bait 😉😉

The little red trap is for holding live crickets. If fishing fir panfish I always use crickets. Most pet store have them.

What has always worked the best for me to catch mudbugs is dog food inside a sock.
The sock is so the dog food doesn’t get out of the trap.
Use a can of cat food in your minnow/crawfish trap!! Just poke holes in the can with a knife and put it in there... it works the best!

Not sure if it will work but maybe try molding the bread you put in the trap around a weight so it stays at the bottom instead of floating
