    I had this once for my left shoulder in 2001, due to an injury sustained in a car accident. Now, I may be facing this again after my arm and shoulder were likely jerked around while I was anesthetized for a laparoscopic procedure. It does NOT feel like phrenic nerve damage or irritation.

    I had a torn labrum repaired in 2001, after an injury sustained in a car accident back in 2000. Now, I’m likely looking at another shoulder surgery due an injury sustained last year.

    I tore both my shoulders at the same day 20 years ago, had my first labral fixation four weeks ago, let my arm free tuesday this week. Hope the healing goes well. I started to loose strength in the left arm the last year, and lost musclemass in infraspinatus behind the shoulder due to loss of signal to the muscle because of a paralabral cyst that formed of the fluids leaking out of the shoulder joint. This cyst was placed nearby the suprascapular nerve and decreased the signals going to the muscle. Hope the cyst dissapears now when the leak is fixed:)

    What's normal recovery time? maybe to get back into bench press?

    • @bradyparisi9919
      @bradyparisi9919 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      JoeCnNd I recently got the surgery & they told me 6-8 months but my rehab was finished around 4 1/2 to 5 months. It all depends on how well & quickly your shoulder reacts to the rehab. So I'd say minimum of 4 months and a maximum of 8 months but expect something around 6 months. Also dont rush the rehab and try to start normal activities to soon, as you could easily re-tear it.

    * Thickening and mild increased signal intensity of supraspinatous tendon near its insertion - suggests tendinosis.
    * irregularity of the anteroinferior labrum with linear hyperintesity extending from the labral surface to the subperiosteal region of the anterior scapular neck---- suggests possbility of labral tear (anterior labroligamenotus periosteal sleeve avulsion)
    * An elongated multioculated cyst commencing near the anteroinferior glenoid margin and tracking aneroinferiorly---- suggests paralabral cyst.
    * Mild fatty infiltration of the few fibres of the subscapularis muscle in the inferolateral aspect suggests focal chronic atrophy.

      RxTechLA I just had this done. Surgery is very easy I’m a little sore don’t get my wrong but it’s really not that bad and well worth it in the long run. I did two months of pt and I felt that it made me worse actually so you might be the same. But long story short the entire process of surgery was very easy and not at all painful or scary. Good luck with your shoulder!

      @@smoothy4045 it case it helps, I had this done 2 weeks ago. I'm 33 years old. In my case, I had 4 "anchors" put in. pain is bearable but it is a constant discomfort so far. I still need to sleep in an almost sitting position due to the pain. I've been told I'll have the shoulder immobilized for at least another 2 weeks and that physical therapy won't begin until at least 3 months after the surgery. I hope this helps.

    This does not mention that the arthroscopic surgery does not work for every person. I had the arthroscopic surgery for my shoulder in November of 2011 and am about to undergo a second one (open this time) for the same injury because the first did not hold.
