The owner didn't stop working even during the interview. When asked if he was tired, he says "yeah, but the good kind of tired". What a boss.

I worked with Chef Tome 30 years ago. He was top notch then, driven and so very passionate about his craft. I'm so glad to see his success in his business. It's no wonder he and his wife started their own restaurant. Everything he created was out of this world. Congratulations on long term success. The story was so great to see.

They feed the staff for free ?? This man is truly a blessing and his wife is his rock.

Feeding the staff is one of the cheapest perks. Have you worked in a restaurant? Essentially you are just preventing food waste.

Wow! What great people - thank you GoGo for giving back to your local community. Teaching food prep classes to give that money back to the local foodbank.... was an amazing idea. Great job!

For almost a year I worked as a dishwasher/busboy at a place in Okanogan Waashington that the owner would have night shift family style late dinner. It was really good for the moral and ironing out problems. Even problems at home would be discussed kinda like a group therapy. But mostly it was just for bonding and letting us know he appreciated us.
The owner inherited the restaurant and many time expressed he was passing his good fortune to us also. He'd even let us split up some of the leftovers from a buffet table and the kitchen if it wasn't to be used to make up a soup or whatever. He was still a real boss but none of us took advantage of his generosity like you hear of staff stealing food at some places
I really missed working there and I was truly sad to leave but being young and looking for more money I felt I had to. But every time coming back to eat it was almost like visiting my second home. Thank you Jerry M. for the good memories

I used to in Paradise, just up the road, and used to frequently run to Boyd for supplies. I'm surprised I've never seen them. Thanks for opening my eyes.

I remember Wise County being a very let's say... Corrupt county.
My father had the very first private club to serve alcohol in his restaurant.
Boyd, was nothing but a blip on the map back than. And it's really not that long ago.... 40 years I guess.

They're a long way from saltwater but with his attitude and drive and that of his wife and the quality of the food, I see them in business until they choose not to be in business.
Add that one to my bucket list.
