My wife was a native Texan, I got there as soon as I could, lol. She turned me on to this show and I have loved it from the first time I saw it. My wife passed away on December 17 2014 and every episode I watch of this it reminds me of Saturday morning with coffee and biscuits watching this show together. Great memories and a great show. Love how this family stayed together and follows their dream. Blessings
What a nice lady and a fabulous story. I love visiting Texas. It reminds me of a lot of my home state of Tennessee so I feel at home there. I wish people were still nice and honest but we live in a different world now. Anyway, loved this video
Born in '53 and raised in Corpus, my family moved to Markins Drive in'59 and our backyard was against Weber Road. I could hop the fence and walk there in a few minutes. What a great memory. Glad to see it's still there!
Lived in Corpus for 30 years. Married a beautiful South Texan. I’ve never been to Snapka’s. Watching this story of a true family love story, I’m heading out to get a Dixie Burger. Thank you for reporting this story!
Whoa, this story was amazing. Such strong family ties. I’ve seen Snapka’s for years but hadn’t yet visited. Now I must, the next time I’m in Corpus. Granny Snapka is a firecracker.
I remember the one in Robstown Texas when a was a boy growing up. Then when they closed that one we would go to the one in Corpus off leopard every time when went into town. Jus to be in the atmosphere of it and the GREAT people there and Great food. Good Times
Finally, a nice story for today. No politics, no racism, no violence just me thinking about this wonderful family and biting into one of those Dixie burgers with some rings. Ice tea please, unsweet... Maybe next time I'm in Corpus Christi.
Amen brotha. Just some good ol Texas hometown stories about family, love and great food. Gotta love TCR for bringing us such good things about our state
When I lived in Corpus Christi, I would take the 27 (Leopard Street bus route) and I always got their tacos and fries. Snapka’s is really homey and very simple from a culinary standpoint. Awesome food.
I live in California and this program is addictive. It reminds me of Huell Howser and his "California Gold" and "Visiting With Huell Howser: I've been binge watching these episodes of TCR.
I grew up going to Snapka’s Drive In. Tacos, enchiladas, and of course hamburgers and onion rings. A lot of times it was just for a Coke and some canoodling with a current boyfriend. There was a lot of that going on in those cars on date nights. Those were definitely the days.
Ate there quite a bit when I worked in the area. Nice documentary. Should have shown the stool and spot where Method Snapka sat at the end of the counter by the wall phone.
I was raise in Robstown when I was in hi school we went to eat lunch there on the week end we all the afternoon up there until it close miss see the old place .
Maybe it's people she beat in court? Who knows. Internet's full of little idiots whose only purpose seems to be going through positive youtube videos and disliking them. =)
The negative comments about the hamburger patties are rude and illiterate. Commercial kitchen suppliers can sell you a pattie press in which a ball of fresh hamburger is placed and pressed for uniformity . They leave the same marks and size and thickness on every pattie . I would gladly eat a burger there everyday if it were not half way across Texas from me ... Good show, TCR...
Dang if u can trust a lawyer.. she said fresh made pattys.. watch the video and those burger pattys are frozen. Regardless its a great place to eat none the less.
Hon, You probably aught to retire from law. You have done your time and have payed your Mom and Dad back for the college they put you through! You said it yourself," if I could "fix" a court case as easily as I can "fix" an order! You know that will NEVER happen! Go to your family restaurant and enjoy what is in your blood! Your Mom is precious!
This lawyer said all their hamburgers are fresh made - the shots of the patties on the grill say they were pre-processed, complete with punctures to make them cook faster. Chef Gordon Ramsay would probably say, "F*** me!"
@@yongyea4147 Yepper - Go to 1:21 of this video and clasp an eye on the burgers on that grill. Tell me they're not identically shaped by a machine and not identically perforated to cook faster. No "fresh-made" patties formed by human hands look like that, pal. They're frozen, and I repeat: Gordon Ramsay would say, "F*** me!"
Texas Country Reporter specializes in visual storytelling. Most Texas restaurants with a great story & even better food are off the beaten path. They are called 'Hole in the Wall' restaurants. TCR brings those gems to light.

Best I can tell she's 97 and still going today in 2020.

A cool story about a lawyer. Rare find...
Yes sir, sounds like a lot of strong family love.
Probably a lawyer with ethics.

My guess is it's some Pepsi drinking, McDonald's eating Yankee.
@@jcraigshelton - LOL!
Snapka's gold, if you ask me.
Yummy!!! I wish I could go there and have some yummy Tex-Mex!!! I miss my Tex-Mex...it’s not the same in Indiana.

Wonderful.
So very nice!
I know this is a Food Review but why am I crying now?
I miss Texas!! Why did I ever move!
Her mom is so inviting. She will be still coming there when she's 100
Stay home and watch television? Life is for living, not sitting in front of the tube, unless it's TH-cam and you're watching this show
Hey I was born in Robstown Texas
I remember eating there in the '60s. Lived right down the street.
“I can not not do it”! I believe it’s a big part of her longevity!
Love places like this. I miss the days when I young where owners would walk around asking if everything was ok.
big time local food dude here..Snapkas double dixie cheese burger is the best burger in CC in my opinion
been there many times

Maybe it’s me, but those hamburger patties on the grill look like they started out frozen . . .
👍
A lawyer is also a waitress. interesting. Her legal clients don't pay her enough.
If it was not for parents many of these children who take over a family business would have a job. Losers!
Hunt's Ketchup? MAJOR FAIL.
