Sometimes we struggle with change, especially us older folks. I have to remind myself that the younger generation might not share my position or likings. I wish JB great success and I’ll continue to watch it. There’s no doubt that Bob and Kelly will be missed.
I’ve been watching this show almost from the beginning and didn’t realize it has been fifty two seasons already. Bob and Kelly have been great hosts. This is going to be some big shoes to fill. I wish you the best of success JB I will miss Bob and Kelly but I will keep watching. I can’t afford to travel so this has been my only way to see Texas.
The writing will be important. Bob's skill lay a lot in telling a captivating story. The audience loves all things Texas, so giving them something to grab onto emotionally will be a challenge.
I’m glad the show will still be going on but I feel like it’s Bobs show. I’ve been watching the show almost since the beginning. And I don’t know one person in East Texas that calls it stuffing. Stuffing is what yankees eat, in Texas and the South it’s called Dressing.
Stuffing was bread based and normally placed inside turkey as a predominately northern tradition. In the south have dressing normally cornbread based and cooked separate from turkey.
@@jcraigshelton we don’t stuff turkeys in the south. We make cornbread dressing in a big pan. Everyone I know fries the turkey and makes dressing with chicken or duck or quail but mostly with chicken
@@MichaelSheffield-ox8yd Ahh yes continue to double down on being incorrect about Bob Philips. By the way buddy boy… I went to Google and no such article exists. Nice fail on being wrong though.
I watched TCR growing up (I’m 61 now so pretty much from its first episode)- I had great parents! Maybe this new guy will will help Texas become what Texas was when I growing up (start by getting rid of the democrats!).
@@benniebarrow348 Yes it has. Sappy music, tired and dated presentation, and more about people's stories rather than the sites Texas has to offer. If I want to take a nap I put on TCR. If I need inspiration to get in the car and travel I watch Texas Bucket List.
Tour The Lake, Langtry, the train thru Sanderson. Maybe the 'dead towns' of Big Lake, Rankin, etc. which aren't so dead. Balmorhea and that state park - a place Guv Abbott hates and has tried to kill over and over, leaving it destroyed and fallow for two years on his '6-month project'. Glad nature is bigger and better!
I grew up watching TCR from day 1 (61 now and had great parents). I hate change (‘ what’s happening to TX today- damn yankees)- but I’ll give this kid a chance. Maybe he’ll help save Texas!
That show has gone stale over the past 10-15 years as they have covered EVERYTHING of "historic" or "classic" worthwhile place and thing in Texas. From here out it will be just another "newest" and latest and greatest BBQ, taco, whatever. Texas Bucket List has been a lot more interesting as has Daytripper. this new guy aint going to be able to compete with those two at all. Typical TM liberal bent is assured.

JB welcome to TCR, the state of Texas awaits your new show! 👍🤘🏻
Welcome JB! Wishing you much success!!

Bobs story telling , is why it lasted 52 years.
So true......and Bob picked up valuable lessons from Charles Kuralt and Ray Miller. Many shoes to fill indeed. Best of luck.
Grew up with this show. Good to see it will continue.
Glad it will continue.
I know you'll do a great job!!
Good that he has his wife & family behind this job.
Glad to see that the show will be continuing.
Cool..will be looking for your new show❤

Nah. Lived in Texas my whole life. It’s stuffing. Dressing goes on lettuce. Lol

@@DV-ol7vt a turkey.

Good luck.
I really hate to see Bob and Kelli leave. Bob’s voice is TCR!

So what happened to Bob? I guess he must be about 70 years old by now. Did he retire?
He passed away. Check it out.
He is retiring.
@@MichaelSheffield-ox8ydHe didn’t pass away. If he had, almost every media market in Texas would’ve done a tribute about him.
@@joememphis1571 There was a report on a website. It wouldn't be on the net if it wasn't true, would it? I know... LOL 🤠

Get them to supply a class A motor home and take the family with you.
😱
And.. *dressing. 😅
C'mon fall!

LOL......that's a stretch and doubtful. They have a stranglehold on most of the media.

Good luck competing against The Texas Bucket List. Texas Country Reporter has been stuck in the seventies for the last 50 years.
What’s the Texas Bucket List? Never heard of it.

No it hasn't. A good story is a good story . Bob and Shane both have different angles to story telling that are excellent.

Why.......the same was said about Bob when he was following Ray Miller's "The Eyes of Texas". Both are now beloved.
