Its the coolest watch ive ever seen. Its messed up my ability to buy the more expensive Fenix series from Garmin. What Huawei have done with the design here is incredible. You can see they are using the whole screen while other watches like Samsung or Garmin have a much bigger bezel. Here the content is really at the front which i highly appreciate.
For what I need, the Huawei GT3 apppears to be perfect! I'm so sad Huawei can't use Google anymore! I used to buy their smartphones because they were really good, but now I am unable to do that anymore!
I've tried the fossil, Ticwatch Pro Ultra, Amazfit GTR Pro 3, and the Huawei Watch GT 3 is one of my favourite hands down! Also, keep in mind that the 46mm has double the battery life of the 42mm model.
Do not buy the GT3 42mm version. It is not made for sports. I noticed that the watch using GPS in running, bike or walk uses an average of aproxametly 17 to 20% of the battery. And this is with all extra things off. So since I was not able to do any activity over 5h to 6h, I decided to send it to warranty. The report said an anomaly was detected, and they replaced the board. When I got it back I went on 59 minute walk, the baterry went from 82 to 65%!! It has been sent a total of 3, and their final reply is that it is the normal consumption for the watch and I quote "This topic has been escalated to Huawei's R&D (Research and Development) department for a more detailed check, which may improve the equipment's performance in similar situations." That is not at all normal. If they have the option of hiking, trail that are activities that go way on more than 5 or 6h. What happens? Easy you run out of baterry before your exercise is done. In no manner can this even be considered a sportswatch nevermind for hiking, trail or biking or any type of extreme activity. And the brand will not assume that is has made a watch incapable of long hours with GPS and barometer on. I have been totally ripped off buy the brand! And the brand says it's a nromal value fo consumption. If it is normal at least put in in the specifications "not adequate for any type of training over 6 hours with GPS usage" Have to go back to my cheap but durable battery on my amazfit.
@Dominik I was thinking that the runner provides more biometrics than GT3 and I was going to buy it for that reason even though I liked the GT3 more. Thanks to you now I’ll go for the GT3 without more doubts about it ^^
Had the gt2 and loved it, so Just got this thinking it had ecg on it, sadly for me I found out it is only on the pro. All the sensors on the watch rear look the same, is it just a software thing on the pro or does it have extra hardware to enable the ecg. Hopefully it is just software and is enabled one day as it is a beautiful watch and I want to keep it.
Thank you for your as always good review. I can confirm that the fitness data is comparable to a Garmin 6 Pro with heart rate strap. The GT3 lacks many things, such as the ability to reply to messages or the fact that you always have to delete messages on the watch, even though you deleted them on your smartphone a long time ago. Or a calendar app where you can see upcoming appointments. On the positive side, I can report that the watch looks very nice, feels good and does its job as expected.
The heart-rate sensor sticks at 151 BPM no matter how hard I push and iv tried rebooting and factory reset numerous times ,the gt3 se does exactly the same thing iv no idea why people are not mentioning this ,it can't just be me with two different versions of the gt3
The 2 weeks battery of the GT series its its USP. Makes it worth while over the crap 1 day most watches manage. But if you want more smart features the GT series isn't for you. I've got a phone so they're overkill.
Excellent review! Is it possible to connect multiple devices to the Huawei Health app on iPhone? Hoping to be able to connect a GT3, GT2, and a Honor band 6 but only use one at a time, hoping to be able to switch devices on the app. As Amazfit has this functionality?
Has anyone had trouble with Android 12 having Bluetooth connectivity issues with the Huawei health app. I have not been able to connect my watch fit despite following all of the connection protocols through both Huawei and Samsung. I had Rock solid connectivity between the watch fit and a Mate 20x 4G in the US. It just disconnects from the s21 ultra.
Good looking watch, HR monitor is awesome...why oh why can't it sync notification dismisses between the watch and my phone? Even my Amazfit can do that!
Too big. Looks daft on most wrists. Fine for gym- but not for all day wear. I don’t know why manufacturers don’t get there is a reason why traditional watch manufacturers stick around the 40-44mm max. I think the sweet spot is about 42mm.
Apple and Samsung sucks.... I like Huawei it's so much better and cheaper .. and don't worry even Samsung and apple spy on you and share your information with the government as well.
Will definitely replace my galaxy 4 with this one . All the apps from play store are useless on the watch , never needed them even one . The display is better on the gt3 too and offcourse the battery life of galaxy is a joke I've really tired to charge it every single day .

You can make calls on the GT2 and GT2 Pro. Only the GTe can't do it. But honestly you're better off just using loudspeaker.

You didn't mention the lack of replying with 3rd party messages like WhatsApp. You can view but not reply to a message.
The ability to reply to messages has arrived on the GT3 via a firmware update.
