I always hate speaking in superlatives when it comes to art, but Battlestar Gallactia really has to be one the best TV shows of the 21st century. I was reluctant to begin with and completely avoided it on its first run on telly. I then bought the season 1 box set I found in a bargain bin and was hooked almost instantly while watching the pilot. I've now been through the entire show three or four times and will do so again many more times. In so far as TV sci-fi can be perfect, this is pretty damned close.
@@Zurround what do you mean by dated? I just re-watched opening scene and found no real issue with it. I believe BSG will be good looking for another decade or more. Besides a lot of bloom would remind us about overuse of this effect in the games of roughly same period of time :)
Neither was Serenity, The SDF1, Babylon 5, The Roger Young, The Discovery, The Enterprise The Nostromo, THe Protector, The Red Dwarf, The Yamato, The Sulaco and more I can't make out.
Nah. Nothing will ever beat all the overtime the 3D animators put in. Especially when the end product has held up for almost two decades without looking outdated.
And the fact you get attached to ALL the characters, the story is captivating and get crazier and crazier... Only issue in my mind is the romance / love drama some times too present, the is the end of the world, stop fracking around! :p
@@orromir I agree that it gets annoying, but I like to think about most of it as the degradation of military discipline under the worst kind of stress. I mean, how long would you be able to hold it together without needing some kind of outlet?
The series you wish that never ended.

Meh. Its pushing 20 and starting to get dated already.
@@Zurround Lol - how does a sci-fi fantasy get "dated"?

When you rewatch the show many times and realise YOU are the reason it happened before and will happen again x).

It's funny, how if you look at the image while listening, you'll pick out what doesn't belong very quickly.
I count at least two: the U.S.S. Enterprise, and the Serenity.
@@filthycasual8187 Don't forget White Base, the Quarian Live Ship, Babylon 5, and the Athena from Starship Troopers
