I live in a small 1900s cottage home that I love! It is surrounded in woods, meadows and farmlands...as far as the eyes can see. I call it Enchanted Cottage. If I lived in a vast country estate...I would call it, "Fairie Manor"...because surely the fairies are living in the surrounding woods and fields, sharing in my good fortune!

We named our home (far from a Country Estate but we love it) Chateau Jerrichaud. Chateau for my husband's french background and Jerrichaud is a combination of both of our last names. Now I have a question for you @daintydiaries, did you get the Falconer's (bird guy) number? He was fine!! ;-)
You’re totally right about staying in a beautiful place sometimes we just need to make the break about the hotel / manor . All to often we pay a lot of money staying somewhere only to sleep there . Looks stunning enjoy every moment ❤.☘️
What a lovely room. The ceiling is gorgeous! Sometimes it's easier to relax when you're away from home. Less things to call to you that need to be done.
Downpatrick Head is amazing! We liked it much better than the Cliffs of Moher. It was deserted and we had it all to ourselves. The Wild Atlantic Way is just beautiful.
Love that you take us along on your travels. I’m in the US, and I’d buy a house on a lake with a dock and some canoes. I’d have enough winnings to go to all these great places you show us on your rambles, too. ❤

Loved your falcon adventure. I rescued a butterfly from the entrance to my work. It's all enclosed so couldn't get out. I took it outside, put it in a huge pot plant, baught apple juice, that was pure instict, and left the lid with apple juice in it. I hope it made it, I had to get back to work. 🦋With these big manors, if they are heritage listed, there are guidelines and protocols that need to be followed, to sustain the history and integrity of the building. Its a good thing, just may be timely and costly for renovations. Not sure what my manor name would be 🤔
What a luxurious country manor! I love to go away and relax! Just lie on the beach or pool deck, and never leave the hotel. My hubby and I did that for our honeymoon. Eight days of bliss at a luxury resort, massages, and room service.💖
"Dainty Manor" would be sweet and accurate! Where I live, almost all the houses have quite poetic, seafaring related names (many of them are or have been summer residences), and mine has none so far, why I actually try to find a fitting name for almost a year now. It's not easy!

Catherine, I'm so jealous of your falconry experience! I'm sure at some point I will get a kestrel. ;) Not just NYC, many cities in the US created havens for peregrines. They are no longer endangered here and I see them rather regularly. Our Bald Eagle has come back too. I sometimes see them in the grocery parking lot.

Fabulous place to stay so beautiful and relaxing I’d also do the bird of prey walk and just admire the trees and the scenery 🫶. I have a little cottage called The Mistal as it was the cow shed prior to renovations.
Lovely everything about this place was wonderful. Seeing how confident you were with the bird on your arm 😳… the gentleman was not bad either 🤗. Love your choice of bed linen the print is so you . As you sat on the end of your sofa I couldn’t help but notice the panels on the wall , it really looks fantastic and makes me want to try .. we are swapping our rooms around hopefully before Christmas the lounge and our bedroom. The lounge is so hot in the summer we truly spend most of the time in the bedroom it’s crazy so we have a lot to do , so may as well add a little extra work on the way. So it’s 10.45 pm time to sleep 🥰and listen to the rain thanks to you I’m of to the garden greenhouse. Take care x
If I won millions I wouldn’t want a country estate. I’d want an old farmhouse with a few acres & I’d live off grid. I’d plant a wood on a couple of my acres, I’d have a veg plot, some chickens & a few dogs. If it wasn’t already named I’d call it Bluebell Wood Cottage.
