4Hi has worked for me for years flawlessly. 4A I believe is clutches which can wear quick with boosted launches. I turn back to 2wd after I’m done with the pull so I can turn the corner without skipping

I prefer my project truck, the 1980-96 Bronco's look better when lower 3/4in to look like a 1st gen Lightning, closer to a real 50/50 weight distribution. Same front end and frame as a F150 4x4. But there are a LOT of 2WD Lightnings with suspension and enough boost to get into the 8's, some 7's and a couple 6's. I know 1 of the 6' had a chopped roof and ended up being sold to a wealthy man in the Middle East.

Turbo guy has to know how to launch it and get all the bugs out to launch it hard and to be able to build boosters. Converter. 2 step etc etc. Your supercharger makes power right now. It's a lil deferent. But his pull curve is a lil deferent.
You should leave the tailgate up. The overly wide tailgate top was designed like that for a reason. It allows the air coming off the top of the roof to properly flow off the back of the tailgate much like a spoiler would. With the tailgate down the air goes down in the bed and doesn't really know where to go. Or best option yet is to get a bed lid cover of somekind. I've got a paint matched hard tonneau cover on mine.
I recall reading a University study which claimed that same exact point. Trucks are are more aerodynamic (creates an air vortex or something along those lines) with the tailgate closed so I guess it hasn't been debunked.
I told Taylor Bloor at Roush about 2 to 3 years ago that they NEED TO BUILD A RCSB and look what they rolled out this year.....I'd like to think I had a little somethin somethin to do with that!!!
I’m dreaming of a Whipple charged 5.0 that runs consistent 10s.. but any idea what setup was the N/A guy running? 12.3 with no boost seems respectable af.
It still gets me every time when trucks put their tail gate down at the strip. Or just driving around. I’ve left a comment previously addressing how this hurts the truck with copious amounts of drag. Especially getting into triple digit speeds. If you didn’t read my last comment explains the physics behind this I recommend you go scroll down and read it so you can understand. Leave the tail gate up. Or take it off completely.
The 10 speed will be really nice when they get the kinks out. I had an 18 F-150 crew cab. Loved the truck but has too many issues with the transmission and couldn’t get the dealership to look at it. Other than that a great truck
S/C equals low in torque = better launch and better 60ft. Turbo gives power on the Top end range...Unless he can Brake boost or stall it up... That truck will not be able to beat you from a dig. Nice Job and Nice Vid!
Reginald Nance yeah those turbos were eating on the upper end so I know it has the potential. That's why I expected more out of it. Hope to see it run better on another video
Surprised you guys are still running with stock engine internals at that power level 😲. I was going to go with the Hellion F150 kit, but the way you left him off the line, I starting to rethink that plan 🤣. May go with positive displacement blower like VMP or Whipple now for that instant torque.
Dude with the Hellion needs to invest in an alarm clock. His problem has nothing to do with new equipment, mods, or any other excuse. You can have the prettiest trotter at the show, but if it can't trot. . . . . .
Nah he needs some traction bars and a drag pack. He’s definitely not 60ft-ing but it’s making the power as the MPH showed on that last clip of them racing.

I lost my dad 3 weeks ago to cancer and the closest we ever been was when I used to drag race about 10 years ago He was my biggest supporter, so Thats why I was there for fathers day. There is just something right about the rcsb 5.0 truck. The only difference is between us is I would get the 2wd version and just run a drag radial full time like I did for years on my lightning.

I've already got the Lightning 5.8L motor in my 86 Bronco (except for full rocker valvetrain and OBD-II 1996 ECU for tuning. I REALY WANT WIPPLE CHARGER TOO!
@@JeepCherokeeful I've got the 3.85" Ford Racing stroker crank for 5.8L off of eBay. I have stock rods, but I'm not sure if I want to budget for better rods and upgraded pistons. Budget = longer delays.
Ryan McCormick gotcha. With the right combination you’ll double the hp and gain at least 100 lbs ft of torque! But even the cheapest route is still expensive.
Expensive, aftermarket parts shouldn’t be necessary as long as the heads, cam and valvetrain are good, modernized components. Having a professional engine builder, experienced with Fords, help select the components would be ideal. Check out the videos from Papadakis Racing, simply amazing how careful he is with engine assembly. Quality in quality out. Engines are my absolute favorite part of a car or especially a semi truck. Of course a 389 Peterbilt isn’t ugly either.

My 2018 F150 has a little lag with the Procharger as well. You positive displacement supercharger guys are insane off the line!

900 whp and 900 tq and a 128 trap . Why weight is key. That would be 155+ trap on a vette , viper or 911

@@JeepCherokeeful I've got the 3.85" Ford Racing stroker crank for 5.8L off of eBay. I have stock rods, but I'm not sure if I want to budget for better rods and upgraded pistons. Budget = longer delays.
Ryan McCormick gotcha. With the right combination you’ll double the hp and gain at least 100 lbs ft of torque! But even the cheapest route is still expensive.
Expensive, aftermarket parts shouldn’t be necessary as long as the heads, cam and valvetrain are good, modernized components. Having a professional engine builder, experienced with Fords, help select the components would be ideal. Check out the videos from Papadakis Racing, simply amazing how careful he is with engine assembly. Quality in quality out. Engines are my absolute favorite part of a car or especially a semi truck. Of course a 389 Peterbilt isn’t ugly either.
