I ride at 40 and about 190 lbs weight. If you weigh more go higher like 45, if you weigh less, 35 is ok. That's for PMT that is, if you have the stock tire keep them up higher like 45-50 psi.
Also, I pulled the valve stem out and put in about 2 ounces of tubeless tire sealant for mountain bikes. The stuff works excellent. If you poke a hole in your tire and your tube just turn the hole to the downhill and wait about 20 seconds put some air back in and you were on the road. I failed to do this and I had to walk 5 miles back home and that was the last time I don't use sealant.
Yes I've had slime work sometimes, sometimes it simply doesn't... Best to check your psi every ride if you truly care about not getting flats, riding with low psi is the main culprit imo.
I just opened my new MUKUTA 10 and the front tire is flat and won't hold any air. My rear disc looks to be bent or the breaks are off, i can't figure that part out just yet. I wanted to ride it but i guess i have to find time to make the repairs.
If it was just the brakes, I would try and help you recenter the caliper and it would probably fix it. But with the tire flat also, I would straight up ask if they could swap out the whole scooter for you, simply because you really shouldn't have to change the tube on a brand new scooter. That being said, they use pretty cheap tubes from the factory and it's so worth putting the PMT tires on that you may as well just keep it and do all that at the same time if you are handy. I put those tires on day 1 and never look back they are superior in every way. So up to you if you think you want to deal with it or try and get it a replacement unit. The next unit could always have some small issue too nothing is perfect yet on any of these scooters.
@@ScootaGang im just going to replace new tubes and i got the disc spacers you recommended to see if that helps. I threw out the box thinking everything was fine so im just going to see if i can make the repairs
You can definitely use those tires for either tubeless or tubed scooters. What matters is if the scooter is split rim or not, then it has to have tubes inside.
@@ScootaGang okay great. So if it’s split rim generally u would want tubes? I have solid rims and it was a bit of a challenge seating the tire on the rim. I have 10 inch tires I’m not sure of the width of the rim but I was thinking my next set is going to be the 10x3.50 pmts do u think those will work?
You can do this certainly, if you don't plan to change the brake pads. But pads are so cheap you might as well change them while you have the scooter taken apart imo
How does this scooter hold up to a Vsett I talked to revrides and they said it wasn't necessarily better than a vsett in any way do you think that has some truth? Also like my previous comment I can't get over how shiny the plastic looks it looks a lot cheaper than the vsett plastic or is it roughly the same?
Plastic is all the same, I think you are seeing the glossy paint on the Mukuta versus the matte paint on the Vsett. I know for 100% fact that Vsett and Mukuta are the same company, the same person sent me both the Mukuta and Vsett 11+ Super to review. Check out my latest review, I go into detail about this: th-cam.com/video/bm5Zrezw1gI/w-d-xo.html My point being they are equal quality and share many of the same parts. Should last just as long as a Vsett!
You can't because it's a split rim so there is a gap between the rim that doesn't seal airtight. Most split rim scooters you can't use tubeless except for a couple dualtrons that have made a special rim design just for that
Hey I just got my mukuta 10+ in the mail today and out of the box the rear wheel/rotor makes noise just rolling the scooter around, I’m assuming the the caliper isn’t set right. What do you reccomend me do I just got it and want to ride it, I don’t have a caliper setting tool what can I do to fix it so I can ride it
More then likely the rotor got bent during shipping. I caliper gap setting tool prob won't help, you should lift up the scooter so you can look at it really closely and carefully bend the rotor back straight. It's probably just one part that is rubbing? If it looks perfectly straight and the whole thing is rubbing, you can use the same technique to center the calipers with something like a note card folded in half, instead of the little tool and it will work just the same way!
@@ScootaGang thanks dawg your the best! I got this scooter because you said it was your daily driver in your maxfun 10 review so I figured it had to be a good pick!
The gap setting tool? Funny I just used it 5 minutes ago on my Vsett 10+. Caught a staple had to swap the tube. Yes 100% it works on all the hydraulic brakes I have tried except for the wolf warrior since those rotors are an extra mm thick.
Got a pinched tube. Cannot push or lever the valve out of the rim. Just had mine handed back to me by a repair man who could not figure it out. Nightmare.
Really? This is an extremely easy tire change it takes me about 20 minutes. I would find someone else to repair your scooters, if they can't do this they won't be able to do anything
the only disappointing thing is the stock suspension imo, i'm also not a big fan of split rim/tubed tires & wheels cuz the wheels are structurally less strong and the tubes can get pinch flats why am i disappointed with the spring suspension? well you can't upgrade it for rebound adjustable ones cause they're much larger in diameter than the usual stock springs, atleast on my scooter, on vsett the dia is apparently similar, so i'm kinda fucked xd
After riding the Mantis King GT more that has adjustable hydraulic suspension, I still prefer the Mukuta it much more firm, responsive, and less bouncy.
@@ScootaGang That's most likely the load spring, on a normal vsett with C suspension you can actually put an exaform adjustable damper (291R) you can change the spring with a different lb/in for more firmness or less my guess is that the 2 springs from the Mukuta are stronger and that the springs on the MKGT suspension is made for lighter people, however as i mentioned you can just buy & change the springs in a different value if they're too light on one of those the MKGT range test etc was with a ~75KG person as test (165lb), i guess the springs are just good for someone of that weight or slightly soft, so if you're heavier you should probably adjust the preload and/or change the springs
i hate the handlebar setup and worst of all the throttle. 50 years of atv tech history this is what they come out with on this? wtf. they should be embarrased imo.
@@FastDuDeJiunn i mean it's still better than a twist throttle like an ATV on a scooter, that'd give you quite a bad day the response is purely a controller issue, which probably are Vsett ones
hey my guy thanks btw you replied to my comment on another video about gettin the back wheel off, umm yeh i did all of that but i didnt wanna try yank the cable out in fear of damaging it, WHEN i take those screws out it isnt exposed as far up, its actually barely in my fingers reach, was it LIKE that for you also?
There is very little plastic, a lot of that machine is metal and it is very solid. I have taken the stupid fenders off and left them off. I have been romping the shit out of mine and it doesn't rattle and it jumps off curbs gracefully and smacks potholes with no problems, and I can take mine up to 50 miles an hour and I have never felt the need for a steering dampener.
