I lost several hours of sleep trying to fight him legitimately and doing a stun lock method, but neither have worked. I am going to BEAT HIS ARSE for being the most frustrating super boss I've ever faced in a long time.

Still works! Just did this now and it seems the trick is to grab him (during Witch Time ) just after the first bite to make Rodin movable, then Kraken will move him below ground before the grab finishes. Putting him underground and dying instantly. So go ahead. Put him six feet under.

After the latest patch this doesn't work anymore (patch 1.2.0) . The new cheese is using the Umbran Armor + Bracelet of Time in the demon phase to make him skip the black hole, grab and magic suck attacks while constant dodging to refill the magic and shooting with Y (you need the Umbran Clock fully upgraded, using Baal's rain to get to the demon phase is relatively safe if you know how to Dodge his human phase attacks). Feel free to make a video about this.
Yep! Still works. FYI, this trick is actually slightly easier to pull off in handheld/tabletop mode due to the slight fps dip making timing a skosh more forgiving. ;) Give that a shot if you're struggling with the timing. Helped me!

I was just about to grind for purchasing the weapon, Got Rodin down to the last health bar but then he literally spammed the black hole move 4 times in a row and that killed me. Honestly better than I thought I could do with a broken right index finger. saw this video and on the third attempt I got it. when my finger is healed I will attempt to actually win.

I can confirm that this works as of 22/12/2022. Took me about 30 minutes or 30 tries, it's kind of luck but don't quit, you will finally do it. Just keep hitting Witch Time, L2, R1, hold △, hold △, hold △ (or whatever those are on the Nintendo controller)
i've been trying this for hours, but for some reason, rodin keeps breaking out of witch time before i get the third bite in for some reason. i'm using the earring of time to extend witch time too, so i literally have no idea what i'm doing wrong here.
Still works as of January 10th 2023. It took me about half an hour but I got it and it still works. Thanks for the video. Edit: as of January 11th 2023 it has been patched and is no longer possible.
I just love how everyone copys the same thing you do and you make the fight look easy but when I try to time the bite and grab him with the whip I struggle with it and he still ends up hitting me and killing me I give up
i don't even feel bad for using this. i fought him so many times that i9 could consistently deplete like 2 3/4 oh his total health bars, and even depleted like 5 one time. in my heart, i beat rodin.
NOTE: I tried this for about half an hour with Bayo2 costume and it didn't work. Once I switched to the Bayo3 outfit, I got it on my second attempt. So, if you are struggling with timing, make sure to use default costume settings.

My best guess is the timing of the whip is early or late.
The third bite may be the key moment, because it turn off Rodin collision box in that hit, I guess 😂

Unless you’re playing a physical copy of the original release version the glitch will no longer work.
