I think it's better to use earring of time and the clock tower. If you maintain your distance and use the witch time on the clock tower Rodin is less prone to breaking WT early. You can then desummon the clock tower early so your magic doesn't drain but desummoning the tower actually keeps witch time going so you can abuse this, use spin punch charge attack on cruel altea to safely laser Rodin at a distance and then keep resummoning the clock for witch time. This method essentially gives you infinite witch time which makes the encounter straight up brainless
After at least 300 attempts, this beautiful creature led me to victory (though I used Jeanne and a cadabra setup). You have no idea how much relief I feel thanks to the tip this video gave. THANK YOU!!! 😭
just use jeanne and spam dodge for ez win. and equip the taunt accessories, so if he grabs u then just taunt for hp so he can't kill you even if he grabs you again. and jeanne has double dmge than cereza.
I recommend using bracelet of time instead of conqueror reins. The frog doesn't get targeted as much when only using the song action and the extra witch time is immense help.
If you want to play this really sweaty you can get 1 rain off, make Baal sing 4 times but cut the cast short so it doesn’t go off. Get Rodin down to demon form with the clock tower X attack and then pop the next rain right as he enters demon form.
I prefer the strat with Jeanne using the Abracadabra and Clock Tower. Jeanne can dodge infinitely, then activate witch time with Moth Within when Rodin finally lands a hit. The Clock tower's basic punching attack helps to hitstun him long enough for you to use your basic punch combo on him + wink slave in his first phase. Then when he transforms and he's doing his "drop you to one hp" bullshit you can stack the Clock Tower's witch time buff to extend your next moth within long enough to get some health back with Star of Dineta OR do some safe damage. Earing of Time helps a bit, but the Clock Tower just feels strong.
Quick tip that saved my ass. When Rodin uses the Vacuum chokehold just let him hit you. After that he will just stand around and taunt, so use this chance to do a quick heal.
i did the same thing but instead i used Jeanne since you can just spam dodge and 9 out of 10 times youll get her moth within and as for accessories it’s basically the same but for the first phase i use Hymn of Durga and Conqueror’s Reins since Conquerors Reins cancel out Hymn of Durga’s rampage and then in second phase i switch out Durga’s with Star of Dinéta

Someone found a super easy way to beat him and get an easy pure platinum. You need >Obviously to max baals rain move >equip Tartarus and abracadabra > choose jeanne as your character for her infinite dodges >have hymn of Durga accessory and conquerers reign During the fight keep spamming Jeanne’s dodge (trust me this actually works if you keep spamming dodge Rodin will never hit you first phase because you will always end up using bat within the bat dodge) Whenever you go into witch time using bat within sing with Baal. Phase 2 is a bit diffrent you can still spam dodge and you will dodge everything except 3 of his moves. The 3 being: his portal his. His purple vaccum grab His shining hand grab This is where tarturus comes in to play. Whenever he uses the portal double tap R to dash away from him the. Continue spamming dodges. If he glows purple double tap R twice to get away from the purple vaccuum 2 dashes will keep you safe. The shining grab is slightly tougher to avoid. To dodge it you have to double tap R with tarturus to the left or the right to avoid it. Once you get him to his final health bar switch to abracadabra and use your rage skill and boom you just beat Rodin and this is a guarenteed pure platinum as long as you don’t get hit. You easily meet the time and combo requirement.
This is more or less the strategy I've been using, but the black hole still messes me up. I wish there were a way to practice avoiding it without having to burn through four of his life bars and deal with max difficulty damage. BTW, one well timed dodge to the left or right can avoid both of his grabs.

What usually happens for me like 8 times out of 10 is when he sets the black hole down he’ll follow it up with normal attacks I can dodge and witch time on, and when you’re in witch time the black hole doesn’t suck you in anymore so I just keep my distance. Sometimes he will do the black hole and the purple vaccum grab tho which means I’ll have to dash away like 2 or 3 times till it’s over. The shining grab sometimes would trip me up if the black hole is masking him to where I can’t see what move he’s doing but after finding this strat maybe took me 3 tries for a pure platinum. As jeanne she can’t dodge his grab moves with normal dodges because she can only activate witch time with bat within. But bayo can def dodge his grabs.

Tbh I noticed a lot of people using Bayo when fighting Rodin, even tho witch time is mostly activated from Bat Within. I'd just recommend using Jeanne. I mean you're already using Bat Within to dodge nearly all of his attacks and when you pair her with the Earring of Time, you can get some serious damage in. Also, whenever witch time is activated, I would just attacked with Madama Styx because he can't do that deflect attack on a demon during this fight.
From the previous games, Jeanne was only able to activate witch time using Bat within (Moth within) and her wicked weaves did 1.5x more than Bayonetta. She also is able to dodge as many times as she wants, unlike Bayo. I think this still is the case as Jeanne's attacks seem to do more damage than Bayo's
There's a exploit u can use u need kraken and aluna whips evade use witch time summon kraken have it use it's special move it bites now the hard part u need to use the whip to bind him and time the bite u time it right and it kills Rodin in one hit there's a vid on it
Woops I used the opposite complete strategy (though not easy at all), I was using the Durga item boosting attack power in exchange for easier berserk with specific attack strings with Lagolas + Madam Butterfly 4-punch that can lead into a knockback loop against Devil Rodin provided you manage to Witch Time his counterattack attempt

I get hit 3 time I’m dead and all of his attacks come out within a fraction of a second. Also wrestling with the camera doesn’t help. And when I’m not he’s behind Baal’s fat ass and does some instant weave or drop kick bullshit and then I’m dead. How does anyone find this easy? I want to know
Seems to be mostly listening for audio cues when he's hidden behind Baal's fat ass. There are a few of them, if you listen past her you can hear him grunting and yelling when he queues up attacks, though like I mentioned you have to be able to hear him over Baal's fat singing. (I've yet to beat him, this is just me commenting from seeing others' videos and my own gameplay experience so far to a small extent.)

Nah, he's never been fair. Rodin fights are intended for dedicated players who want a cheese-level weapon/mechanic to use in post-ending gameplay. In all 3 games, he puts the weapon in the store if you fail his boss fight 100 times without having beaten him yet. The only difference between 3 and 1 or 2 is that in 1 and 2 you have to earn maximum currency both to unlock the fight and to buy the weapon (if you don't earn it from beating him). In 3, you only have to earn 10% of maximum currency to unlock the fight, then earn maximum currency to buy the weapon (if you don't earn it from beating him). He's never been a bad boss fight, he's just not meant for average/casual players to beat or even spend that much focus on. He's meant to be a massive challenge, just like Witch Trial 3.
whats the best way to avoid the black hole attack ? He pulls it out at random even at close range with no reaction time whatsoever. Worse part of all, he spams it a lot

I would personaly recomend using clock tower for this, do the forward backward bullets and the bullets rain on the enemy quicker for the same amount of damage
I noticed that does an enormous amount of damage (and the clock tower is generally the best summon imo), but my concern is how mobile Rodin is. Most big enemies are slow enough to take the bullet rain, but Rodin is zooming around the map a lot.

The demon will stay put while you move as long as moves are queued for it and you dont take damage. But its easier for some demons that others. Clock towers easy to fight in tandem with since its moves are like 5 to 10 seconds long. Whereas labolas would be very hard
Urgh. I just hate boss fights that are 'hard' just cause all the attacks are high damage. Not cause the boss has interesting attack patterns or mechanics. Same issue with Witch Trials.

the problem is when he is in satan mode. he can suddenly cast the black hole that impossible to dodge unless we are away from his range. and also he still can attack while the black hole is still active. which is more harder to read his attack. getting away from the black hole and also read his attack is beyond my reading...
It is why I have the train weapon suggested, as soon as you see the camera zooming out and he starts to cast it. Triple jump immediately and dash away from it

No idea but probably around 100? But don't worry since you can essentially afk farm deaths. Just leave your game on his fight and it will keep rematching you automatically

Witch trial 3 guide clock tower Gatling gun for most enemies artifact for extra damage and then the artifact to prevent rage. He will destroy big bosses just stay out of their way when they attack and aim the guns right. For enemies that get to close to clock tower use his punches they still deal a Ton of damage. U can use rodin dance after each fight to get ur health back u don’t even need the laurels then make sure u spam that after each verse ur magic regenerates so just wait if ur out. And run away from enemies in combat if your out of magic as well and witch time and attack if u can. Spam the dance Then go to next verse let clock tower do everything and I switch over to rodin here and there in witch trial 3 they want u to use your demons. The rewards are you can buy seeds from the shop. 10,000 orbs for 10,000 seeds and a Nintendo switch t shirt it was hard and annoying but very easy once I exploited it with tower and the dance to get health back after the fights. There is only 3 trials
I’ve done this so many times and Rodin keeps stunning Baal(Sometimes I can’t switch Baal out because it always happens when I have no magic, aka, when he’s at his second phase). I fucking hate this fight. I bet that not even Bayo 2 Rodin was this bullshit. Even if it’s for some reason not poorly designed, I just hate this. Edit: Now that I’ve actually taken a break from trying to beat him, I realized I’m just rotten unlucky with which attacks he does, as I always get combos that are bs, like the black hole + the pulling grab attack that also drains magic, or when I’m near him to attack him to get magic, he summons a black hole right on top of me with no warning.
Rodin is such an annoying prick. I can easily get to his devil form by spamming dodges with Jeanne, but his black hole screws me up every time. He would be barely tolerable without the black hole shit, but with it he's an annoying damage sponge who also ruins your movement. Bad boss design imo.
One thing I need to mention is that if Baal gets paralized, switch her then switch back immediately before she dies

I’d also go for extra witch time but be aware Rodin has a move where he can take control of your summon if you don’t have it equipped

I used CRUEL ALTEA and spammed 🔼🔽✊️ because it can hit across half the stage
I also used the Umbrean Tower to freeze time and heal whenever I got hit
How can you heal? I'm not aware of any healing abilities, and the fight doesn't let you use items.

This method works efficiently if his A.I just cooperated, but the Baal method is kind of braindead and less fun ngl but it works!

The camera is your best friend here, when it zoom out and he raise his hands up it means that he will summon the black hole attack
Its been 2months and i still couldn't beat him pray for me
I now get into 2nd phase every time but he has a grappling charge i just cant seem to dodge. Any tips on how to deal with that?
You have to perfect dodge it, you wait until he's close to you then dodge

Cant move while summoning which is why I recommend doing it during witch time and on this video poison rain is not upgraded this is how strong it is!
The demon will stay put while you move as long as moves are queued for it and you dont take damage. But its easier for some demons that others. Clock towers easy to fight in tandem with since its moves are like 5 to 10 seconds long. Whereas labolas would be very hard
With the nucleus of talon gear, you can move while summoning, but it’s not recommended for this battle
You need to almost perfectly dodge everything
Urgh. I just hate boss fights that are 'hard' just cause all the attacks are high damage. Not cause the boss has interesting attack patterns or mechanics. Same issue with Witch Trials.

the problem is when he is in satan mode. he can suddenly cast the black hole that impossible to dodge unless we are away from his range. and also he still can attack while the black hole is still active. which is more harder to read his attack. getting away from the black hole and also read his attack is beyond my reading...
It is why I have the train weapon suggested, as soon as you see the camera zooming out and he starts to cast it. Triple jump immediately and dash away from it

Yes? This is a very basic mechanic
If they get attacked enough then yea. Their rage builds up and you can see it in the bottom left on each demon's profile/circle

No idea but probably around 100? But don't worry since you can essentially afk farm deaths. Just leave your game on his fight and it will keep rematching you automatically

Witch trial 3 guide clock tower Gatling gun for most enemies artifact for extra damage and then the artifact to prevent rage. He will destroy big bosses just stay out of their way when they attack and aim the guns right. For enemies that get to close to clock tower use his punches they still deal a Ton of damage. U can use rodin dance after each fight to get ur health back u don’t even need the laurels then make sure u spam that after each verse ur magic regenerates so just wait if ur out. And run away from enemies in combat if your out of magic as well and witch time and attack if u can. Spam the dance Then go to next verse let clock tower do everything and I switch over to rodin here and there in witch trial 3 they want u to use your demons. The rewards are you can buy seeds from the shop. 10,000 orbs for 10,000 seeds and a Nintendo switch t shirt it was hard and annoying but very easy once I exploited it with tower and the dance to get health back after the fights. There is only 3 trials
I’ve done this so many times and Rodin keeps stunning Baal(Sometimes I can’t switch Baal out because it always happens when I have no magic, aka, when he’s at his second phase).
I fucking hate this fight. I bet that not even Bayo 2 Rodin was this bullshit. Even if it’s for some reason not poorly designed, I just hate this.
Edit: Now that I’ve actually taken a break from trying to beat him, I realized I’m just rotten unlucky with which attacks he does, as I always get combos that are bs, like the black hole + the pulling grab attack that also drains magic, or when I’m near him to attack him to get magic, he summons a black hole right on top of me with no warning.

Rodin is such an annoying prick. I can easily get to his devil form by spamming dodges with Jeanne, but his black hole screws me up every time.
He would be barely tolerable without the black hole shit, but with it he's an annoying damage sponge who also ruins your movement. Bad boss design imo.
I still can't beat him unfortunately.
