how to dual boot windows and macos on t480? I have windows 11 installed in my Laptop with all my personal data. (I use different partitions, hdd and ssd)
Thanks for the wonderful guide! Just curious about the serial checking with Apple's website. It seems that they just update the site. I always get the "Please enter a valid serial number." error. Is that any work around for this? 🙄
@@LeClarkI just skipped it. The trick is not working anymore I think. In fact, I installed MacOS 3-4 times with different serials generated by GenSMBIOS. None of them has issue. Maybe I am lucky.
you did it well and I follow-up your instructions I Installed the monetary well with every kext working well. choosing the OC EFI (ThinkPad t440p) from your GitHub repo. everything is working pretty well but I face a "volume hash mismatch" problem and my PC getting restarted automatically while restarting it didn't start properly. continuously restarting and stuck on the Apple logo then restarting again and again. Then I hold the power button to turn it off and on. So, hope you will try to fix this problem otherwise my dream cannot be fulfilling to use Hackintosh.
Thanks for your effort, I’m sure you worked very hard to put this together for us all. But, can assure you,it would be more beneficial to all of us,if you would’ve included a speech track to help us follow you better.
Thanks for the instructions! The only problem i'm running into is that even if I've set the italian language inside my pconfig file the usb stick is loading a qzerty layout
It might take a few HOURS to install?? Not sure but I don't think you downloaded all the OS installation files before beginning the installation? When I built a Catalina Hackintosh I made a USB installer with an EFI partition for the OpenCore files and an hfs+ partition with all the macOS installation files first. With this method the install took about 20-25mins and then you have a USB installer you can re-use if needed.
Your method requires a Mac, right? This method can be done on PC or Linux. You can't download the full OS image on Windows and Linux, only the recovery which then downloads it during install.
QQ. Is there a Kernel Extension for the nvidia card that comes with the T440p? I heard somewhere that there is already one, but I want to be sure it will work, since I'm keen on trying this with the card fully working on macos.
Thanks for the tutorial! Well done, I followed all the instructions but got stuck in the installer, it shows an estimated time of 26 hours and 21 minutes, is that normal?
how do i dual boot windows and macos on t480? I already have windows 10 installed on my PC with all my personal data. (I want to partition the drive 50/50)
You can split your Windows partition for this purpose. Use a partition tool from e.g. MiniTool or EaseUS (or just the preinstalled tool "diskpart"). Check before that your harddisk is in GPT format. After that you probably have to enlarge your EFI partition. The partition must be at least 500-1000 MB in size. Then format the empty partition as NTFS or ExFAT. Now you just have to start the macOS setup, switch to Disk Utility and format the just created partition as APFS. After the installation, boot back to Windows and copy the folder "OC" from the EFI folder (USB) to the EFI folder on your hard disk. Then download the tool "BOOTICE", start it and go to "UEFI > Edit boot entries". There you click on Add and select the file: EFI partition (HDD) > EFI > OC > OpenCore.efi. Then enter a name and click on "Save current boot entry". Now you can switch between OpenCore and Windows by pressing F12 on startup.
@@valnoxydev okay so i understood everything until the part where I have to boot back to windows, if mac os has been installed is the computer still going to default to windows or will it default to the newly installed macos. If it automatically boots to windows after restarting I could follow the steps. Final question, will any windows updates break the bootloader?
@@linghampanch7709 macOS itself does not install a bootloader, so your default one will be Windows. You can move the boot order in the BIOS or in BOOTICE. Windows Update won't break the bootloader.

@@linghampanch7709 You can set UEFI Only to enabled. For the ACPI patches, open ProperTree and go to ACPI -> Add. The first three are the patches you can enable or disable. Just set the Enabled key to true or false. Regarding your MX150, set the patch "Disable MX150" to true.

great tutorial, I have a t480 from my work, I just bought a new m2 ssd to do this installation and not touch the operating system of my work. Hi, I followed your tutorial and installed Ventura on my T480. Everything seems to be working fine except shut down and restart feature. When I try to shut down, the screen just freezes for 2 seconds and the next thing I see is Lenovo logo and the system again boot up. Same thing happens with restart, you must be thinking restart seems to work like this only but no matter I restart or shutdown the machine it gives an error everything saying "Your Computer Restarted because of a problem." and then apple logo appears after that when I input the login password another error pops up saying "Your computer was restarted because of a problem." and 2 options are there Ignore & Report. Any help would be appreciated. @valnoxy
