Neither humans nor animals have any such thing as a soul, I have heard so many better arguments against eating meat which had made me go vegetarian for a while but this appeal to religious sentiment just repels people, please put some more effort and bring in some original arguments that would resound with me. The lazy arguments are the reason for a stalemate on this field and a lack of a constructive debate. I would still admit that it is a guilty pleasure and there is no moral argument in favour of eating meat, but the scarcity of protein in vegetarian food is also a reason of animal meat consumption, even if I take milk and milk based sources of protein they still come from milch animals and there is cruelty in milching process (in case you didn't know about that, search for it), and after some years the milk from a milch animal becomes unfit for human consumption. Then it is costly to care for an animal that doesn't bring profits, people don't even want to take care of their own old parents, what do you expect them to do for an animal, they sell them to the butchers. A better way was shown in a television program Satyamev Jayate to use these cows in converting wet garbage (leaves and vegetable leftovers from markets and homes) to dung and eventually biogas, so these animals are just required to eat and shit till they die which helps both the animals and humans, but using these methods and coming up with a profitable business model supporting jobs would require education and being rational, it would also require original ideas and not blabbering some teachings of a religion. All your religious talk just delays the development and dialogue that could have moved forward.
