Nice approach and really good communication with tower, helicopter and the PIA 777. It makes things so much nicer when all are accepting and just deal with the situation and understand. Real pleasure to watch and listen to and the filming was very good considering the poor light and weather. Nice job.
I don't care what other peoples think about PIA but i love PIA and the PIA pilots,PIA Pilots are world best pilots May ALLAH Always protect them and give more succes to them Ameen Suma Ameen :)
@Zakar Yeah I always love PIA one of my favourite airlines ever And they have good pilots, food, crew, nice classic cabins even though they're old and outdated I love everything about Pakistan and PIA itself Allhamdullilah I always fully agree never hate to pia
In a bad weather a perfect cross wind landing and a Profesional behavior & communications between the PIA pilots as well as experienced ATC..... As a result excellent job done by them...
PIA has very handsome male cabin crew and captains,, I once travelled by PIA and I couldnt get my eyes out of those handsome flying attendants. One man understood and he started to smile me back,,,
This is how it is done in west. Emergency traffic gets priority anyways but the guy still apologized. You see being nice does not cost money. Great Video. Thank you so much.
@blueb0g It is safer to keep landing lights on when descending below 10.000 because they also scare birds and prevent bird strikes. I learned that from a military flyer.
Nice job and by the sounds of it a nice flight crew. When ATC relayed the apology from the helicopter the crew of PIA where especially nice about it. Well done and good airmanship.
Very nice, extremely well captured, it was nice to hear the controller, copter pilot and 777 pilot conversing in the way they did, the copter pilot sounded really apologetic. Quite a hard landing, but once again another brilliant video with clear audio.
Ok as an Air Traffic Control Officer let me clarify the difference between "go-around" and "missed approach". If you are on a VMC flight plan a go-around is simply that a go-around. If you are on an IMC (IFR) flight plan, then a go-around would be a missed approach, since the aircraft is on a instrument approach and must now fly the missed app. procedure, unless you are on a visual approach at which point you will be issued additional instruction such as runway heading/track and an altitude.
all i can say is that pia pilots are the best pilots i remember a engine failure of fokker friendship aircraft in worst conditions but they managed to land safe.. nice job.
@767Brainiac All those "rules" about landing lights etc are often invented by FSX pilots... some airlines put landing lights on through 10K feet but with many airlines, like on takeoff, you put the lights on when you are cleared to land. When told to go around you are no longer cleared to land - and thus, lights go off.
great to see everyone in this world get along. Can imagine the pilots wanted to just land after sucha long flight. and great to see the apology twice from the med heli.
Yeah definitely always love Pakistan International Airlines always one of my favourite airlines even though it's slightly dangerous it's mainly relatively safe!! Love everything about PIA Just needs improvement
In this video it appears the helicopter either developed an emergency or was a LifeGaurd Flight/MedEvac (Air Ambulance) requesting priority. At one point the helicopter was given traffic in regards to the B777 of its location overhead, which means that at least seperation existed both vertically and also for the purposes of wake turbulence. What sucks about ATC initiated go-arounds, or go-arounds due to ATC planning involve too much paper work.
@thehappyinsomniac They were landing on Runway 23R and the wind was coming from 150/12 knots (Crosswind). and the angle from which the video has been taken also making this hard landing more harder. :)
Excuse me, let me tell you that the cross wind was high and this landing that you are commenting on was actually very top class landing. You should know that over 90% of PIA pilots are ex Pakistani airforce jet pilots and they are among the best in the world at flying the jet planes. Thank you for reading and all the best.
@LDP555 If you notice the landing gear are already down before controller requested for go around. Its only a matter of 2~3 minutes. I think he repeated because of sudden emergency situation because of helicopter
Awesome video mate..well done and I agree the PIA crew were extremely nice and the apologetic control tower crew also handled it well.cool video and amazing audio.A++++++++++++++
I once walked into the tower cab with one of the newer controllers working, and saw a A300 rotating midfield, and a B747 2000M behind it executing a missed approach with a semi-steep right turn. I immediately walked down the stairs and waited to hear the boom. Luckily no harm done, another uneventful day in ATC.
lol ya but I found out later that PIA pilots are ex-ATR pilots or ex-military and have a lot of experience, therefore they are educated and have no South Asian accents
When I arrived at Manchester AIrport with my dad and his mate in February, one of these flew right over our car and landed. Some papers flew out the window. LOL
@bombaclaat Gone are those days when ex airforce Pilots were flying these lovely birds.Even if they are not ex Airforce pilot, they are still good anyway!
@ejazsahib Agree with Allah(SWT) keeping Pakistani in Holy Custody, but disagree on your claim of Pakistanis being good mannered. Have you ever checked the bathroom of a flight full of Pakistanis a few hours into the flight ?
One of us from FlightLift are Indian and honestly we dont have pakistan or India. Nor when it comes to religion but stupid people fight for no reason. Enjoy the Video and landing by PIA Pilots. Thumbs up for the great approach.
When the pilot said "No problem", he actually meant that he could keep flying the beautiful 777 all day! Awesome crew and awesome video!
Nice approach and really good communication with tower, helicopter and the PIA 777. It makes things so much nicer when all are accepting and just deal with the situation and understand. PIA has damn beautiful liveries.
I'm damn sure that once I will fly with you my neigbour's PIA!!

Love how the landing lights go out as soon as the Tower requests a go around. On the ball.
respect and courteous from all involved, great clip.
This is how it is done in west. Emergency traffic gets priority anyways but the guy still apologized. You see being nice does not cost money.
Great Video. Thank you so much.
it was quite a crosswind landing handled perfectly by the PIA Capt'.LONG LIVE PIA
Great video, I love go arounds! It was great you caught the ATC conversation, the pilot was a good sport about it.
5/5
Nice video, love the way the pilots cooperate with the tower. Amazing!
Landing lights were out before the ATC finished the relay!! Cool video.
good video brother, you have a good weekend...
Loving the fact the pilot is so sorry for the disruption!
@blueb0g It is safer to keep landing lights on when descending below 10.000 because they also scare birds and prevent bird strikes. I learned that from a military flyer.
Brilliant crosswind landing on a typical blistery Manchester evening!
Pakistani pilot speaking English with british and American accent mix. Ooo khairrrr uncle GG
700lb Ripped Lenny I think it is unique
Loved the clip coz the way they apologized from the pilot and the way pilot responded, respect for all.

Lovely work and all parties responded & handled the situation very professionally! PIA!!
english are so respectful on the radios. I wish they were that nice in US
Pakistan Zinda baad 💐 🙋 Pia Zinda baad 🌹🌹
great to see everyone in this world get along. Can imagine the pilots wanted to just land after sucha long flight. and great to see the apology twice from the med heli.
we certainly do have one of the most professional and experienced pilots!!
Great Landing By PIA Pilots.......!!!!!!!
Yeah definitely always love Pakistan International Airlines always one of my favourite airlines even though it's slightly dangerous it's mainly relatively safe!!
Love everything about PIA
Just needs improvement
Yeah mine too because Birmingham have pia to come here
@kmclpk In the UK, that's the way you command a go-around, regardless of situation.

At least the medical helicopter pilot has apologised for delaying the landing on the pia 777
@thehappyinsomniac They were landing on Runway 23R and the wind was coming from 150/12 knots (Crosswind). and the angle from which the video has been taken also making this hard landing more harder. :)
@shariq907
Oh Cmon man!! Isnt a perfect landing on an overcast day with cross winds a bit too much to ask?? :)
The Best Pilot In The World.....!!!!

I can’t see the medical helicopter in this area
@shariq907 it's good for the crosswind.
Good job with the editing (in only including the necessary bits)
A good display of Airmanship!
@bruffy68 He is fighting some crosswind there... wind is at 150 degrees at 12 kts.. would say he did a good job :)
Nice video! Where is 'Joes Field' and where is it located?

1:46 ah yeah I can see the medical helicopter now leaving here
@Alddahh Missed approach, go-around , same thing
Sorry i missed why he had to go around ? and then the subsequent apologies ?
The controller, is he the same one that handled the Thomson B757 bird strike?

That was really interesting, thanks for the post...

lol ya but I found out later that PIA pilots are ex-ATR pilots or ex-military and have a lot of experience, therefore they are educated and have no South Asian accents
Shocking landing though. (only able to comment as I got a laptop for a day that isn't broke)
Kudos to the PIA pilot acting like the go around was no biggie :-)

No Problem Sir! ;)
One of us from FlightLift are Indian and honestly we dont have pakistan or India. Nor when it comes to religion but stupid people fight for no reason. Enjoy the Video and landing by PIA Pilots. Thumbs up for the great approach.
@roseipk Personally, I'm afraid of bad pilots when I'm on a plane, but that's just me.
Landing must have hurt....
Hard landing?? A smooth landing in a windy day isn't a safe procedure...
nice crrosswind landing..
