It's unbelievable what's happened to our national carrier.. this was 20 years ago I went with my young family in 1995 1st time and it was beautiful experience I am seeing this and crying 😭 what the looters have done to pia and our country...
@@deliciouskebab4646 Europe and UK along with USA banned PIA last year due to the pilot license scandal. They’ve gotten it sorted out already so they’re working to resume Europe and UK flight.
@@ASAviation OMG?! Never knew! But then again, to be brutally honest as much as I used to love and admire PIA as it is a Pakistani airline, they have built themselves a very bad reputation over the years. From getting rid of the good planes aeroplanes in their fleet, to their flight attendants and other members of staff providing really bad customer service, I really don’t want to fly with them again. The only advantage they used to have was the fact that they do direct flights to Pakistan from the UK. However in 2021, Virgin Airlines also known as Vigin Atlantic, now do direct flights to Pakistan, so I don’t really see PIA lasting long now. The only way they can do better is by giving good customer service and bring in a new fleet as well as sorting other things out, such as routes, consistency of flights, food, etc.
Dispatched these old girls from MAN many times. Doesn't she look shiney.. could almost be new looking at her departing! What a gorgeous evening sky. Can smell the warm Jet A1 just watching that amazing takeoff 👏
Throughout the years, the Boeing 747 has been the world's famous four-engine wide-body aircraft serving most of its civilian (usually freighter and passenger variants), some military & VIP operators worldwide, carrying cargo, people with both the layover, non-stop and even domestic flights, because of its high performance.
I loved personally those provincial tails worn by PIA glory ending days. We can still have those back adding one more tail for province gilgit baltistan 💙
First flown with the Boeing test registration N6018N, this aircraft was delivered to Cathay Pacific Airways as VR-HOL in Feb-87. It was re-registered B-HOL in Jul-97 when Hong Kong became an autonomous region of China. The aircraft was sold to PIA Pakistan International Airlines as AP-BFX in May-99. It was withdrawn from use and stored at Sialkot, Pakistan in Feb-08. The aircraft was later moved to Karachi, Pakistan and broken up there in Feb/Mar-11.
Moral Of The Story, If you make someone else successful, you will be unsuccessful, When PIA made Emirates Airlines by giving it 2 airplanes, now see where is emirates and PIA, I am not alone blaming the descision, the main reason is was corrupt leaders. My uncle had the second highest rank in PIA airline, he was against curroption, but the president of PIA Ejaz Haroon kicked him out of PIA.
PIA, was one of the world's finest airlines in the world, but the crooks have destroyed such a brilliant asset our beloved country Pakistan 🇵🇰, landing takeoff, finest and safest , excellent pilots skills ❤❤
I think PIA were the only ones that would climb to 75% power before letting the brakes off and the feeling inside the cabin was crazy. Like a sling shot and ulif you looked down the isle u could see it lifted from the front as soon as the brakes would be about to release
Yeah cause super heavy loads. Desi don't carry just a carry-on. If 2 bags are allowed with 50 each, they will take 2 bags with 55 each. You know, just in case.
@@radiohead2206 i know but what a feeling it was. They did the same on the 777’s aswell. BA also have super heavy loads but they have boring rolling take off’s.
This is such a wonderful piece of film Simon. I know PIA traditionally allowed huge baggage allowances, but my my, this bird was really heavy wasn’t she!! I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an aircraft go that long at Manchester before. Just checked the video description to see that it was 2004. So nice to see the Thomas Cook 757 as well 👌 Enjoyed hearing the accompanying ATC as well.
I commanded the inaugural PIA 747-200 flight to Manchester. Being born and brought up in UK , I could reply in a (put on) Mancunian accent to the the "Welcome to Manchester" from the Tower. Must have shocked them.
they don't have that much money and A380 requires a lot of maintenance which we know none of there planes unfortunately get. The potential this airline has it hurts me to see that a record breaking airline is like this now.
Pakistan International Airlines would have been one of the best airlines in the world but unfortunately, the greed of the Pakistan government and Pakistan's management of the Airline brought it down and now they are banned. On 30 June 2020, EASA suspended Pakistan International Airlines' authorization to operate with the EU member states for 6 months to Europe after the crash of flight PK8303 and the subsequent PIA Pilot License scandal. In late 2020 and early 2021, the ban was extended by another three months and later indefinitely.

What a throwback, these were the pride of PIA back then. Hope PIA can get their issues sorted and get back to the UK soon!
What’s going on? Why can’t PIA get back to the UK???

The front shot of the plane is absolutely stunning and the take off is excellent 😍
