As I'm a mom with ADHD, a 16-month-old, and a man child... The BEST "dumb cleaning tip" I've heard and use every day is, DO NOT PUT IT DOWN, put it away!! My house used to look like a dumpster all the time until I started to do this. Yes, should it have been common knowledge but at last in my ADHD brain, it was not. Therefore anytime I go to set something down I remind myself, "DO NOT PUT IT DOWN, put it away!"! It works like a charm and now I have fewer "doom piles" and trash lying around. It has even become a habit of mine.😅

I love your real life cleaning.
I keep a dish scrubby thing (the kind with the soap in the handle) in all of my showers and once a week I scrub my shower while I'm in it. It literally takes an extra 5 minutes and that task is done for a week and it's so simple. I mix Dawn and vinegar in mine, but, you can put whatever you want in it. Best time saving hack ever!!

Doing nothing is my favorite activity too! Lol! I think it's great for people who do have hobbies, but I'm done with feeling less than because I don't have any. I am very content and happy sitting in my house and minding my own business. 😅

Love your videos ♥️! This came at the perfect time! My friend from high school (1970!) is coming for a visit in 3 1/2 hours! I do use the FlyLady system but adapt it to fit me, that’s the beauty of the system. And since I’ve been doing this for so long, it doesn’t take me long to get it done. Full disclosure: I don’t have kids, especially little ones, at home anymore, it’s just my husband and me and 2 cats 🐈. I sure wish I had had TH-cam, you, and all the others when my 3 kids, all girls, were little!

Wow this is a perfect cleaning video, I wish more people would film while tossing stuff/emptying the trash as it's so satisfying to see all thos crap going away from your house. I've even wished it wouldn't been edited as it cut often just when you were starting to emptying them 😅 I've even wished that you could leave them all by the door and then film while taking everyting outside of your house but it's already more satisfying than most other cleaning videos 🤗 If you ever have clothes that can't be donated or even nicer paper clutter like magazines, catalogs and even some store flyers to discard, even if it's not a lot, it would be great as I always struggle so much to discard those things.

I love this!! My home definitely needs a reset after the weekends.
One thing I do when I feel like the whole house is out of control, is I set a timer for 5-10 minutes, and clean one room at a time. That way I'm getting a little progress done through out the whole house, then I go back and finish certain areas, like the kitchen that needs more attention.
Your method is very logical. I typically like to do things in the same order you showed as well. Like picking up items and putting them away before tending to the floors. It was good to try something different like when you did fly lady, but it helped inform you about what really works for you and what could be better. You should definitely keep up with this system and it probably won't be that hard for you too. Good work!

You may not like your spinning mop now but I love mine and cannot thank you enough for the recommendation it has helped so much! Also, I use a cute target basket at the bottom and top of my stairs for things that need to be taken up or down. And I do it at the end of the day.
Definitely let the toilet cleaner stay in longer. We keep it in until someone needs to use the toilet :)

I have 2 teenage boys, 13/14, and I still have to tell them where the trash cans are (one in every room!) and their hamper! Plus how to take their dishes to the sink. It’s unfortunetly never ending! 😒

Clean every day
We decluttered so often we don't have much to organize or clean...I have nightly routine put things back and washing the dishes, sweep the floor and do a quick 👣 mop lol. When brushing teeth I wiped the mirror and counter, I clean toilet almost daily or as needed. In on days I do deep conditioner I clean my glasses shower door... I start doing laundry on Friday night through Saturday morning I put a load in before heading to the gym or grocery. On Saturday when I prepping/cooking food I'll run my Roomba that also do mopping thru out the house.

I've tried to institute weekly cleaning tasks on specific days, like on Fridays I always clean the bathrooms and vacuum and mop the floors.
The relatable content I actually need! Now to get the kids out of the house…
I think I like your system better It's simple into the point. I would recommend you bring in a laundry basket or something along with you for the pick up of stray items so you're not having to go back in forth from room to room putting things away. But I'm gonna give yours a try this week.
I just started flylady most of the tasks your right no value...but I like the app you can delete hers and add your own and check off each one thru out the day...and the 15 min daily declutter works

Im totes down with the weekly reset! A couple years ago i decided i was not going to schedual any appointments or out of the house activities on mondays cuz i found the same thing you did! I need to clean the whole house! cuz we didnt do it all weekend 🤦♀️ lol i just dont seem to notice that the house is getting dirty (maybe im on vacation) while the weekend is happening ha
Trying this! I have tried a few different cleaning schedules. My problem with things like one room a day is when something needs to go to another room I almost ALWAYS get sidetracked with some other task as I typically don't leave a room without something in my hands finding it's original home. If I have 15 min per task there won't be a lot of taking things to it's real home.
P.S. boy mom here and the poop conversations are something I feel like we have all the time!! WHY my 8 & 5 year old boys still struggle with the whole flushing of the toilets concept I am not sure.

I wonder what you would think of the Bissell crosswave? It's pricey but it vacuums and mops at the same time. I'm lazy and so if I need to mop, might as well have just 1 step lol! 💓 Doing nothing is my faaaave!
to make the wipe down portion go faster, spray with your left hand(non-dominant) while wiping up with your right(dominant) hand. That way you're not walking the same path twice.

Chore charts with incentives work great for kids and help them learn responsibility. Start early, stay consistent, and the benefits will outweigh the hard work in time. Trust me! I'm a teacher who teaches kids AND parents.

Loved the video. I can't keep up with fly lady. Your version is much more doable. Have you tried Lysol laundry sanitizer for stinky clothes? I found it when my teens started sports. Without that product, even multiple washes did not remove odor. Hope you get a sponsorship soon. You certainly did great showing useful products.
I think give yourself extra time, like 20min each task to get that extra room picked up.
Otherwise love it. I tidy up and wipe down everyday, it’s 15min a day. And once a week I clean floors and vacuum, clean toilets and dust.

Do you have trash cans in every room? I have small trash cans and just use grocery store bags in them ALL OVER THE PLACE. Might help the kids learn to toss stuff.

Is the CLR scent strong? Right now I'm trying to use the rest of my microban but being pregnant again the scent is really getting to me. 😩
It’s not super strong. Def not compared to microban. But it does have a scent. It’s not frangrance free

the absolute last thing you should do is vacuum and mop, I can’t even fathom why a self proclaimed cleaning expert would imply such a thing. Everyone knows in order to clean a mess is to make another mess in the process, dusting will cause dust to fall on the floor, changing bedding will do the same including hair/maybe crumbs, same with cleaning any surface like kitchen counters where stuff will fall on the floor in the process. Always. Vacuum. Last. !!
