No one has mentioned it, but one of my favorite parts of these swaps is the mix of NASCAR and F1 commentators. Just the juxtaposition of Steve's dulcet British accent with Larry's nostalgic Southern drawl and their genuine interest in the car/driving style they are unfamiliar with was amazing. Honestly, a lot of knowledge can be gleaned by casual fans of either series with this type of collaboration. So many pertinent questions are asked by folks who just happened to be born an ocean apart and are clearly passionate/curious about motorsport in whatever form it takes.

Gordon got to taste the most badass F1 car generation in the history of the sport. 950bhp 19K RPM V10 3 liter NA, 1433 pounds of weight, lighting fast semi auto gearbox. The current generation of cars are fat hogs with slightly more hybrid V6 turbo power and weight (1050bhp, 1760 pounds, 12KRPM). Power to weight ratio of the Williams BMW: 1461 bph / tonne, whereas the new F1 generation: 1315bhp/tonne (metric tonne).
After this event happened, there were 2 more Nascar x F1 ride trades: Tony Stweart drove Lewis Hamilton's McLaren MP4-23 IN 2011 (already with a less powerful 19K rpm 2.4L V8), and Jimmie Johnson got to drive Fernando Alonso's MP4-28, another V8 vehicle in 2018. The V8 cars had about 1100bhp/tonne.
