But then: It turned 180° and became a relly good song with a lot of fun, silly costumes, icelandic crazyness and a singer with a really good voice (reminds me of a famous singer in the 80s but I can't remember his name). The nordic countries are always good for a surprise (maybe sitting in the dark during winter time, sipping glögg and vodka and nibbling on dried reindeer meat while listening to howling wolves and whispering nature goddesses is good fuel for creativity). I'm really curious how this will be judged in the contest...

Ever since Iceland's song has been released there is a lot of comparison with Lithuania's song going on, but I find the two songs very different on many levels. Musically Iceland bases its song on a disco vibes while Lithuania on new wave / synth sounds. Lyrically, Iceland's song is about father speaking to a daughter, so it's feel-good fun personal-family song while Lithuania's song addresses a larger social context (ageism and age-related prejudices and a celebration of a self-confidence). The choreography is also different, as Iceland's choreography is more fun-quirky while Lithuania's is art-quirky (as there is such a massive synergy between the lyrics, the message and the dance in their performance). And even if I like Iceland's song and think its a great addition to ESC, I think Lithuania's song is way ahead of it on many levels. But I think there is an audience for both songs in the competition.

This song and the performance are so extraordinary, this can end up top 3 this year. I think it's catchier and more likeable at first listen as Lithuania, so this can do very well. It's my first place and I'm pretty sure it will stay this way. Love them! ❤
