when you're landing, most of the time in a 172 in the sim....slow down to the white arc and apply 10 flaps turning onto base.... once you're on final, apply full flaps and you can slow to about 60 kts
@@Quipen248 It just depends on how they are mapped on your controller. You can go into settings/controls and search flaps to see what button they are mapped to.
Remember airspeed is controlled with pitch up or down and altitude is controlled with power. Each aircraft will have a specific airspeed for the flaps to be increased as well as a speed down final. It’s a dance between pitch and power.
Little fact: the runway you took off from in van nuys is the busiest general aviation airport in the world. There’s a cool movie about its history as a military base called “one six right”
Enjoying it. Just a tip, respect the flaps, that’s why you’re paying compensation. Go back to flight school and learn landing and take offs because you need to practice using the flaps. Look forward to your next video
Over three days and still not loaded past 98%. If this is the future of cloud gaming give me full 200 GB installation every time. Still loving your videos Scott, take care and thank you.
@@RaceAgnstTme That's a false statement. It's working just fine for me and I don't even have a top of the line network connection. I only get 12MB/s downloads.
If your on Xbox cloud gaming you can buy the game pass and get mfs 2024 it’s a lot easier to play on Xbox but if you’re not on Xbox or can’t afford try a tutorial. Good luck.
Some guidelines when in a C172: Flaps should not be extended beyond 85 knots as you risk damaging them. On the downwind (flying opposite of the direction the runway heads) portion of the approach, you should be 1000 feet above the runway elevation, aiming for 80 knots and 1 notch (10 degrees) of flaps. The Base leg (90 degrees to the runway heading) should be 70 knots and 2 notches (20 degrees) of flaps. When you turn to final, you should be aiming for 65 knots and 2 notches (20 degrees) of flaps. On final, if it looks like you're kind of high, add the last notch (30 degrees) of flaps and pitch down to keep your approach speed at 65 knots. 22:37 When you have judged that your plane will reach the runway, cut the throttle completely. Don't wait for the plane to touch down. You still had your throttle at 1000 RPM while trying to apply brakes on the runway. This is why you're having trouble getting the plane to stop. 33:20 After you've taken off and are above 70 knots, raise your flaps because they're just additional drag at that point. 33:48 Just as you were hoping you didn't cause any damage, you exceeded 85 knots with your flaps extended. Hopes Dashed. 36:13 This is something I've noticed with 2024 that I hadn't noticed with 2020: Observe all the tire rubber you're leaving on the runway as you lock-up your brakes. They should have included some screeching tire sounds to go along with it. "Flightseeing" is the same as "First Flight", except you'll have more than one POI to fly to and you get paid. SHOP AROUND. Most flightseeing missions pay 600 or so credits, but some are 1000 - 2000 credits. Check out the Venice Italy area if nobody in England wants to pay well.
I have flown the 172 in real life and never used flaps for take off unless the runway is short and never full flaps at take off. Just after take of at about 500 ft reduce power to 2400 rpm.
33 mins your flying with flaps still down and over speed, only use flaps to get up in air then slowly retract flaps. Opposite of what you do on landing
Your flying with the flaps down and then when you skip to landing you are landing with the flaps up. I’m not a pilot but when it comes to flying you don’t skip steps or details. That’s how you get killed.
There's a button on the mission end screen, next to the NEXT button....that says 'Aviator Performances Details'. If you want to know what you did wrong....
It looked like he still had some throttle applied on that landing and he was trying to flare at 90 knots. .and each time you skip a session you lose a huge percentage of your payout
For Takeoff performance, you need to use the flaps during takeoff. Additionally, during landing, drop speed to the white vertical line on the air speed gauge, select flaps 1, then drop speed to 60 kt, then full flaps. That will help landings on grass runways. You crashed on the first mission during landing because the brakes are not as effective on grass runways. Because of that you need lower approach speed. And during landings, you will most likely not need any engine power. Use engine power to maintain altitude during landings
So it’s not just me. I can’t brake at all below 20 knots at some air ports. Very rarely I find ports that either throttle the crap out of the plane as soon as the engine starts up and no brakes whatsoever. And some ports don’t allow you to move your air craft at full power. This game is a crash.
Flight Instructor here! U want to slow down til the speed is in the white before flaps go in, the first few notches of flaps are to manage slower speeds in descent. The last flap is the landing flap on most aircraft. Only put those in once landing is assured. U can also use 1 or 2 notches on takeoff to get off ground in a shorter distance. I’ve seen worse in real planes so you’re doing alright!
Try trimming up when I did those missions I would land with it around 20 or 22 it’ll help with getting your speed lower! And on Xbox double tapping X is my break and Rb+x is parking break
I think you should be deploying flaps when you take off. It helps you climb faster. I'm only on episode 2 now, so you may have figured it out already 😅 There are 7 eps out at the moment
You need to check all over all the components of the airplane before you get in and take off and when you go to land you need to pull your flaps down 20 30%
that's why there is protocol in flying. try follow instructions and take tutorials. Taxing protocol is no joke, and instruments are all over the place...fun to watch though, but not ideal.. lol
100% do more of these flight simulator and please do some flights around Australia like Sydney and Brisbane please. I live in Australia in NSW and like to see few gamers doing Australia flight trips on this game please thanks.
Maybe off camera, I would highly suggest you go back and do those lessons you skipped for the PPL and CPL. They will most likely explain many of the problems/concerns you are having. Side note, I know all the landing patterns in this video look weird but they are standard procedure especially for small airports. They first include a right hand 45° tear drop into the airport traffic pattern and then a left hand pattern to land.
I play on series X & can’t cope with the juddering it runs so bad haha is there anything I can do / adjust / turn off to make it run smoother? Thanks if anyone can help
Taxiing is not the fast run but slow also on your 4 flight on the landing you are to speedy i have ppl licence in real world and own small airplane i know this is a game but there are rules in aviation.

There's a white strip on your speed gauge. When your speed is in that white strip range, you can safely deploy flaps.
I really hope this helps him.
Thanks for that tip. I keep getting 0% landing smoothness.
There is a strip on the Tacho also for target power setting
Do you know how to deploy flaps. I been trying and can’t for the life of me deploy flaps

The game does not work with cloud gaming. The controls are all out of sync. You won’t be able to fly anything. Wait till next year.
If you're on console, go to add-ons in the store. There is a support add-on. Download that. Fixed my issues

Fellow pilot. Good tips!
Flaps to be used at takeoff and landing. You’re all over the place with your flap usage. But that’s the only time you really need it
They are at 0? Wym

You MUST use flaps to land to land with control
Flight seeing gives the most for me! (5000 instead of usual 500) “no skip” extra credits is broken too btw.
The shortest commercial flight West Moray to Papa West Moray in Scotland. It takes about 1:30 mins
There's a button on the mission end screen, next to the NEXT button....that says 'Aviator Performances Details'. If you want to know what you did wrong....
Didnt really watched previous mfl simulator videos, but this one came out pretty awesome! Im a bit sad that you cut the parts, plane crash etc :P

I'm so glad i played the training missions. Learned a lot there.
Think you will be able to land better from cockpit view. And the brakes not working seems to be a bug. I had same today

Took off on the taxiway. Haha.
Word of advice your meant to taxi at walking speed (5mph) 4.3kts and ailerons are different to flaps and keep your rolling bank at 10°
I can’t get to grips with the Helicopter especially with the assists off
Left Fortnite and COD and started enjoying Farming Sim 25 and Flight Sim 24.
Use flaps on landing will allow higher engine power at lower speed of approach
you keep saying what did i do wrong. yet u never click on performance details after the flight? ............
You need to check all over all the components of the airplane before you get in and take off and when you go to land you need to pull your flaps down 20 30%
TIP TRIMM DURING CRUISE
it seems that there are apparently a number of bugs in the game, because then the brakes would work 100% but there would be bugs
Any Landing you are still Alive after is a Good Landing.

To get rid of employer commission, you need to own your own company
14:01 I did the exact same mission lol
Can you not use the autopilot to fix your flight level the you just worry about steering and power management?

Why does everyone avoid Training modules in MSFS24, I am trying to complete them some of my scores are B`s and A`s Practice Makes perfect.
I fel in love with this game , its so good.
Practice makes perfect.. there's no shame in crashing by accident.
Did you not use the brake on that landing?
Sure wish cross country took that long and only used 1 gal of gas.
Not a pilot the first landing was amazing a bit of target but was great🎉🎉🎉
is it worth to buy? And btw i love your content :)
at 31:40 Helen sounded very masculine

Power setting 1700 rpm 20 flaps 70 kts
Nose = speed
Power = Altitude

What pc do u have
I love this game but on Xbox rn it’s not working :(
It’s lagging way to much
My game I have no engine sounds at all. Everything else I hear.
Taxiing is not the fast run but slow also on your 4 flight on the landing you are to speedy i have ppl licence in real world and own small airplane i know this is a game but there are rules in aviation.
Does skipping pay way less??
didd you find out? i have the same question
You climb with your flaps
Cant slow down : MORE FLAPS =) You were at 10 which should have been 30 ;)
My area is in the video 😁
For the price it's crazy how many bugs, why release a game that's not finished
Because Moneys!
Where is stalker 2?????
its called flaps hehehehe
im sure respect the aircraft is like inspecting the tires and going over the vehicle before flight
I was the 81 comment. 🎉🎉
Edit i mean like
Couldn't stand the lack of knowledge with this one, ie landing with no flaps . . . moved on to another simmer who understands basic aviation mechanics
coward
first to comment big up
Could you fly to Kenya?
