I am a medical student from Germany and am in my final year of med school. I just discovered your channel. I love it. Your content is so helpful, calming and aesthetically pleasing. Thank you so much
Dear Katherine I’m so happy that we have you here on youtube and I’m passionately looking forward for more of your vlogs, I’m also a medical student. You don’t know how much i get motivated by your videos and they also contribute in my coping strategies through medical school, in my coping strategies i always try to look at the positive side of medicine and watching videos of medical students have great effect on me to continue, i also try my best to do and enjoy my hobbies.
I'm a teacher and for me too exercise is the best way to de-stress and disengage from the job. Personally I prefer team sports or intense cardio efforts to really switch off
Hi medical doctor from South Africa (currently working in EM)🙋🏽♀️ really enjoying your videos so thank you so much for sharing your experiences. Currently in a place in my career where I’m pondering the next step and found 1 of your references in your earlier videos (wait but why article) really really helpful! It’s really inspiring to see how you balance your career with leisure and self care, I feel like it’s a life goal and it’s awesome to see how you do it. Hope u continue to post videos about your life as well as your pearls of wisdom as they really are pearls😃
I find your videos very inspiring. I'm currently working full time in a refinery and while studying chemical engineering. it very inspiring to see how you cope with life☺️.
Resident from the U.S.! I had something similar to your first year with hospital accommodations except it was in medical school. Spent 4 years living a couple blocks from the hospital and medical school. Brutal and terrible idea!
Great video. I'm a non-medic, initially did my degree in physiotherapy, went and studied another degree in psychology and a masters in human cognitive neuropsychology. Now I work as a day care manager for the elderly (cognitive and physical needs). I initially wanted to train in medicine but didn't have the confidence to do it, even though I got the exam results to study it.....I've always wanted to go back and study medicine, but at 39 now feel too old. And people I know who work in the NHS as doctors have said don't do it and given their reasons why. What would be your opinion on it? I loved your outline of the various forms of coping mechanisms to the stress you experience. Another way to look at certain forms of stress is not as stress, but eustress. But that would obviously only apply to stress or stressors you have a certain amount of coping mechanisms or cognitive reserves to deal with. I try to view stressors I experience in work as eustress.....I have not enough hours in the day to accomplish all the tasks on my never ending to do list....but I recognise that and set realistic timeframes for anyone who has a vested interest in my to-do list! That way it's a positive stress for me because I'm accomplishing what I am setting out to accomplish. I do have some major stressors though which don't fall under the eustress umbrella. I now walk home from work every evening....it takes an hour and 10 minutes. And then I pick up my dog from his dog sitter and we do a 30 minute walk together. By the time I get home, I'm tired....I'm relaxed....I've had some lovely time with my best boy (my dog) and I've separated myself from work. Then I can relax into my evening and the next morning I'm ready to do it over.
Was really fascinated about mindfulness, how do you practice mindfulness and being in the present moment? I’m about to join the NHS in August and this channel helps me look at work/life not just from a doctor’s perspective but otherwise as well. Thank you Ms Leung:)
Several ways - in terms of practice I meditate every morning (5-10 mins), weekly yoga, occasional breathing exercises, and walks with a walking meditation guide. I've also found understanding the fundamentals of mindfulness essential to underpin everything - via books and podcasts on mindfulness e.g. (Thich Nhat Hanh, Jon Kabat-Zinn). Good luck with your new job!

Hi. Can you share how you prepared for MSRA to get a placement in London? I really enjoy your videos. Thank you so much x
Can you share the link for where you buy your ear plugs (the one in your night video)? Cause I need something like that when I am post night.

Hi doctor! If you don’t mind me asking, how old were u when u started medical school? Is 30 years too old to study medicine? Thanks in advance.
Non medic here!
Mam how much student loans do you have? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
it increases every year because of interest, never a fixed amount in England. Probably over £50,000 but that will continue to increase!
Actually where are you come from?
