You absolutely need no feedback. What you're presenting here is gold! No one explains these types of tips and dilemmas. Most channels focus more on the music and how it sounds at the end of a video and not explaining the subtle details that make up the core of any orchestration. I love your content, it definitely helps tremendously. Keep up the good work and thank you for taking the time to make such videos.
Marc, this is fantastic. This is exactly the kind of principles my music teacher enforced on our Wind Ensemble years back. Please please please do a long format video expanding on this. This is wonderful information and it will benefit more than just Film Composers. This benefits all composers.
This is the first video I have ever seen where Bruce Broughton's name is mentioned. His music for Homeward Bound is one of my biggest inspirations. You have made my day!
I like this format, Marc! Succinct, pithy, and insightful points coupled with the rationale and context. The graphics reinforce your points and your passion, making for a delightful and effective way to learn the more subtle aspects of the topic. Bravo! 👏
Wow Ken! If I had to select a winner comment... it would be this one! So well written (I had to go to wordreference to find out what half the words meant! 😅🤣) and so well put! And also so good for my ego! 🥹 haha Seriously. Thanks for the comment. It's really helpful. Much appreciated 🙏😍 I'll paste this to the editors so they know they also did an amazing job!
Oh, we want more videos like this. Your energy, enthusiasm and passion really comes through this one! I was jsut smiling all the way through watching it. Thank you for the knowledge and for presenting in such an accessible, straight-to-the-point and fun way!
Hey Marc, former student here. All I write in this project started with a course at Cinematic Composing a couple of years ago. Please do continue to do orchestration videos. I just love colouring the pieces but I end up falling back to the same blends because I haven't developed the ear yet. Listening to orchestras is great but with this piece of additional knowledge it's easier to "search" for colours. Keep up the great work, it's appreciated!
I have just found this channel and it is gold. Despite my English is not very good, I can follow you, and the content in this video help me a lot to improve the ochestration, so now I suscribed, and thanks a lot!!
Great tutorial. i'm learning new stuff with that one. Thanx to Marc that had took his time to make this one ! Really instructive and captivating. An excellent way to dive into cinematic music and music in general. Like this tutorial for sure !
Thank You Marc I truly am feeling like you have given me the Keys to unlock my true potential I love composing and this will help me even more with my compositions. your the best.
Excellent tutorial ! Learned a lot. Love those videos you post each week. Always a pleasure to watch them. Accessible right now ! That's the thing ! Interesting and explained real fast. We all want more of those. Again, accessible now ! Think about all that knowledge for you all ! Thanx for that Marc and the Cinematic Composing team.
Hi! you do add a lot of value and it's amazing to watch a pro at work. Thank you for your time, I have learned a lot! Could you make a (big:) video on mixing a hybrid, opening the mix i that context, balancing the project, what synths do you use (do you sound design?) ... wow it's a lot so maybe you give us also a complete mastering video :D Thank you for the videos already made and hope to see many in the future! Keep going you're doing great!
Love your energy! Thank you I am hooked! I would like also if you could tell me what type of automation controller you are using. I have tried all kinds and am still looking for a good, easy to use and budget friendly controller.
If anyone loves this, checkout his Cenitmatic Composer Student courses on their website! I love learning from Marc and the resources they have! Learned more yet again! Thank you sir! Please keep sharing!
So cool Marc! Thanks a lot for this video. Of course if you can do a video about this tricks that will be amazing. Really this is a wonderful information. A big big hugs from Taiwan.
This is a very useful video with real tips that can easily be understood and applied. I think your teaching style is phenomenal, and your energy and excitement is contagious! I think your instructional videos have value for composers of all levels, and I’m definitely going to check out some of your other videos! Thank you for sharing this with the world!
Really glad I found your channel. I've been filling my mind with as much composing resources as possible and I love your energy. Very inspiring sir, keep up the amazing videos!
Hey, Marc! I've been following the e-mails and occasionally the videos for quite some time now, and I must say, as interesting as some of the previous ones were, THIS is what is lacking in general everywhere on TH-cam! I particularly LOOOVE that you're just exploding with phrases and ideas and sometimes I have to stop and rewind 5 seconds to fully grasp the concept; but maybe, speaking from a general audience point of view, this is way too condensed and fast. Anyways, you'll have to wait for more feedback to know if that evens holds up! Qué buen trabajo han hecho (vosotros y todos que han participado) aquí!
Magnífico comentario!!! Muchas muchas gracias! All this helps so so much! This video resonated with so many of you so I'll definitely do more of these and your comments help us shape the next videos! I'm so happy you liked it!
Bass instruments: you are wrong: one of THE most gutsy orchestral bass sources is the contra bassoon. Much gutsier than the tuba. Contra bassoon: Superb in accompanying that lyrical string ensemble making the floor literary tremble when in support of the double basses. Like no other.
There are millions of video's for scoring which to choose. This is my first production that i will be involved in musically so im everywhere learning progressions , software what software to use for scoring learning terms etc. Shooting starts in 3 weeks.... could you please help or advise me to where i can learn the most in the least time. Thank YOU for this video,PeaceLove&GodBless
@@NancyPrestipino I am also a great fan of hism He's really good! It's just that sometimes the excitement is a bit too much for me. Although my comment had a great dose of fun! Maybe you didn't catch it! 😂I am also thinking of taking part in the Momentum program as soon as I can. Best wishes!
I'm a native English speaker, and I _still_ wish you'd slow down drastically, and eliminate most of the chit-chat, histrionics and goofiness. Because of these things, it's very hard to find the actual information in your videos, even though it's there.
For heaven's sake: lose the background music. We're sitting here concentrating on imagining your 1 trombone with 12 horns, but then your video is playing some smarmy 1994 anesthetic fusion stuff. The background, um, music is simply canceling your otherwise great explanations.

So does this mean the double bass and the tubas can be most easily left out in a band context? Because then you’ll have a bass guitar to do that job.
Keep this content going!!! Got valuable tips I’m going to implement now!! Let’s definitely do brass next!!!
Like it like it like it... see u to the next video

Sería genial que lo hicieras en español y, si no puede ser, al menos hacerlo un poco más lento.😄
Been in a fight Marc?
I never received the mail, now is says offer has expired :(
Do you use circular breathing while talking?
😂
🤣
The editors make me look good... but I have to actually repeat each phrase 5 times till I get it right! LOL
chapters would be good additional touch
necesito aprender con tigo amigo
superb !
Modulation video plz =(

Great video-great hacks, but you really need to calm down. 🤪😂
I just get very excited about this! 🤣
I'll do my breathing exercises before start talking about orchestration next time! LOL

mahler was austrian, not german..
now German😏🤫😉
Piano is a stand alone instrument.
Most of the times it is stand alone, but it can be used pretty creatively with other instruments
