Yes you're right, but it's important to remember that Contenders was designed with the idea of being a medium for those aspiring pros who have the skills to back it up in general player base to have a taste of competitive play while the pros play in the OWL once it gets started.

And versus Conbox, EscA outdueled Twilight, solidifying himself as the best Sombra in the game. Then in the Grand Finals, EscA easily outperformed Rascal. The latter completely underperformed and choked, which is a flaw that has plagued Rascal since APEX Season 1, but yet you don't mention that. So I don't see how he is not "good enough," especially when he outdueled the creator of the Sombra-comp and Rascal.
I don't think it's right to say, that Esca isn't good enough. Simply, his biggest flaw is his inconsistency. Sometimes as mentioned, he just goes and destroys everything, but sometimes he is a bit "not good enough".
your argument is 2 seasons outdated. Esca knows he has consistency issues. That is why he practices ENDLESSLY to make sure he Performs on the Day. His scrim results are still on and off, but his LAN performances have been Solid for 2 whole Apex Seasons now. Eventually people have to admit that Esca has been working to fix his weaknesses.
