Your video came up while I searched for a solution for on a composite deck. Polypropylene is def the type recommended, but I wanted back up. I'm not finding much on TH-cam, unfortunately, but was glad to see this video. I wish it had even more information such as where to buy for a nice look and weight. Amazon seems to have a bunch with bad reviews because they are too thin. I also need a rug for under the grill on the composite decking. Apparently I can't use anything with vinyl, rubber, etc. Has to be polypropylene. Thanks for this info.
You definitely should shop with a local lumber company for composite decking. They may keep it in stock or it may be special order. I wouldnt order it on Amazon.
I live in Colorado and we get a lot of rain in the summer. I'm going to be putting my rug underneath a Pergola. It will be laying directly on top of concrete. How do you keep it from molding?
We get a ton of rain where we are too - I don't ever design rugs in uncovered areas or anything without a solid roofline. I've done fun painted patterns on concrete to mimic a rug but even polypropylene molds fast in an uncovered area :(
I live in a rental property with an uncovered deck, and it's not really an option to add a roof. But the deck absolutely needs a rug. Is there any way to avoid a rug developing mold and mildew on an uncovered wood deck?
The best you can do is to use one with the material I mention here, with an open weave, and hang up after storms. They will trap moisture and mildew otherwise.
My patio has a fireplace that is catty corner so there is not an equal area for an outdoor carpet. How can I get a carpet to cover the desired area and looks good?
Is it possible to have the long side run along the length of the fireplace (in other words the rug would be cattycorner too)? Then orient your furniture to the fireplace on the rug.

I really like those chairs! Could you share where you purchased them from? Thank you!
Hi! They were Project 62 (Target) Standish Patio Club Chair Natural/ Gray, but I'm not sure if they are still available.
How do you stop rugs from blowing away on textured concrete?
You can put a rubber pad underneath to help grip and use the weight of the furniture to help as well. You must have SOME kind of wind!
Where’d u purchase your rugs?
I believe we found these on Rugs USA
Any recommendations for outdoor rugs not made of polypropylene? polypropylene generates horrible microplastics and are bad for the environment.
Thanks!
Anytime!
