Great video. I agree with your reasoning around the cost of the Vision Pro, I’ll add not only are the materials and labor more expensive than other devices but speculation about Apple creating this device has been rumored for about 10 years! Probably a billion dollars invested in R&D. Businesses also typically control demand for limited supply, innovative or revolutionary products by setting a high price of entry. Car, tech and medical equipment companies come to mind easily. Congratulations and I’m looking forward to great content!
I'm excited for the immersive experience so I can not only enjoy my own Vision Pro spacial videos but also the awesome videos that I know other creators will make and share with the Vision Pro community.
I don’t know why people have a problem with the pricing, Apple is not pushing it on anybody and they realize it’s a unicorn product. if you want to experience the latest and greatest of modern technology you always pay a premium, especially with companies like Apple and Sony.
Its an m2 mac that doubles as a vr/ar headset…im not sure what price people were expecting. The budget “vision SE” will come years from now with old chips.
Oh hell yes! I’m lazy, so I did delivery haha. If I still lived in LA I would have picked it up. As someone who worked many Apple launches, it’s a fun thing to experience in person.
Nice to see someone not whining about the price and how this product won’t do well blah blah blah. I’m just gutted I have to wait until later this year in the UK to get my hands on one of these. I fully expect these will completely sell out in a matter of weeks if not days and the demand and price for one will go astronomical as people start to get hands on experience. I don’t expect these will be mainstream like an iPad was - but for the people living alone or maybe couples and small families - I fully expect the Large screen TV in those homes may become redundant. Instead of considering to spend big bucks on a new tv that is at best 85-100 inch. This thing will blow those screens out of the water…. If I can hook this up with a ps5 which I think should be possible with PlayStation remote - and it means my partner can watch anything they want on the home tv whilst i grab an hour of video gaming without leaving the room - Maybe, just maybe this is worth the price tag. Or maybe we will be fighting over who gets to use it - and so on and so forth.
By the way, the Apple Store has interesting accessories available for Vision Pro. Apple has mentioned there will be a Vision Pro Store where you can locate VP specific apps. That should be fun!
Imagine they named it Vision Pro, not because it’s the pro version but they meant the pro version of our eye sight. Of our vision. Since with our normal vision we don’t see all the cool mixed reality stuff. So now we have our new upgraded “pro” vision with this device.
I pre-ordered the Vision Pro with 512GB storage. If I can do my editing with this device, I’ll certainly need it. Would be nice to know if iMovie will be supported.
Great video! Thank you. (I subscribed to your channel.) I ordered the 512. Like you, I have been using my iPhone 15 Pro Max and have created 26 spatial videos and 73 panoramas. Zeiss is reviewing my eyesight prescription and will determine if it is compatible with VP. They say I will be contacted within one business day. If all is good, they plan to ship the lens to me. I have an appointment to pickup my VP on February 3 at 11.30AM at my nearest Apple Store in New Hampshire. Very excited!!
Great video. One thing I want to point out is that from what I’ve seen, you can only have one screen for your Mac at a time. The multiple windows are for the Vision Pro itself. I would love to see it be able to support multiple windows, but it doesn’t sound like this version will.
Anyone know if 2 of these can be paired so, for example, you can watch a movie together? If yes, some people may want to get 2 or 3 (if they have deep pockets), to share the experience with friends. If not, no point in that.
This is going to be replacing a lot of the products like the tablets and laptops in the future as it becomes more affordable especially for Apple users in the future,
During the check-out process, you're asked whether or not you wear glasses. From my understanding they have partnered with a company to customize those that need them.
Which one did you get? I got 1TB. You didn't mention it because you recorded the video before you actually ordered perhaps? 😀😀😀😀 I only bought one with no plans to return it or flip it.
The whole price point thing is just a repeat of what happened before. The first iPhone cost $799 (which is probably like $1200 in today’s money) and people said it was too expensive for a phone without a keyboard. Well fast forward to 2024. Tech always had a steep price tag and if people are comparing this to The Quest then they they are not really serious about this debate. I’m eagerly looking forward to your review/first hand experience after 2/2/24.
@@joesdaily I just got my vision pro and as of now it doesn't recognize my mac studio to connect to it. Might only be laptops, which is crazy. Have you given this a shot yet?
Yeah, you will. You can get prescription lens inserts as well..which I would recommend if you are throwing down 3500 on it. Last thing you want are scratched lenses with that kind of investment.
I assume you’re asking because you wear contacts? I’m not 100% sure. I image it’s the special tech on the lenses. Perhaps they would conflict with contacts.
Talking about design, HEAVY and Center of gravity totally at the front, just analyze that, no strap will release the FACE going down or being pushed against your face with that weight, there is no counter weight at the back, so sorry for all people that are buying this FIRST gen. Even PICO managed that problem a lot better, PICO 4 it's the only VR standalone device that put the weight of the battery at the back, without any additional accessory, just out of the box, the most comfortable lightweight VR device yet.

I bought it because I have the Apple ecosystem and anticipate the quality. Also, I am productivity focussed and it can replace one of my TVs.

Precisely! It's a premium product at a premium price.

Much appreciated, sir!

I dig it
Luckily for the 512. Anyone else shocked at the $500 Apple care plus. Also a bit annoyed this didn’t come with 1TB for its price.
Pre ordered mine today pick up on February 4

Do you have a MacBook? If so, it’ll work with your Mac.

Price is fine… this headset is unlike anything else. So many cameras, an incredible one of a kind screen! And the weight is fine
Preordered one and got a confirmation email/number for Feb 2. But dang my Apple Pay glitched so bad I hope they’re able to charge it lmao.
Dang, that sucks. Sending you good vibes.

I image that is or will be a possibility very soon. It would be odd if it wasn’t a thing, ya know?
Supposedly only one Mac screen mirror allowed at launch.
I ordered Vis Pro delivery so..Feb 5 for me.. 256GB model....
Oh no! Did you order late or is it because you live out of the US?
Why does it only support wifi 6 and not 6e or 7 ?

Joe - I have not seen anything about using the Apple Vision Pro for people who wear glasses. Do you know how that is going to work?
During the check-out process, you're asked whether or not you wear glasses. From my understanding they have partnered with a company to customize those that need them.
@@joesdaily good to know, thanks!
I read that you can only pair one Mac screen alongside vision apps
Hopefully that will expand in the future. As it’s the first version, I image it will get smaller and far more features soon.
