Apple Pay was failing because the pickup windows were being taken… I experienced the same issue, had to try 3 times before the payment was processed and my pickup window changed 3 times
It didn’t work with Apple Pay not because of your cards but because the time you chose filled up before you could complete the process each time , happen to a bunch of people that chose in store pick up

Bummer! I had the same problem ordering with the Apple Card and went from an 8:30am Feb 2 pickup at store to a home delivery between Feb 13 and Feb 16 by the time my Apple Card payment went through.

They were feeling because the longer your on checkout the more people are taking those check out times so everytime you picked the next earliest by the time you clicked pay, that time would be taken so it’s best to click a late time right away. That’s actually what I did and mine paid right away. I picked 4:30pm for mine because I hate waking up early. I watched someone have the same issues you had until they clicked a much later time
I saw a case that would do just fine on Amazon for $27, I ordered the 1TB model, I was going to get the 512 model,but since the Rx Zeiss inserts were only $149 total (I suspected it would be $149 each), I opted to bump the memory up to max spec.

I had a problem with trying to order 2, for 2 different people. Once the first was in the cart, went back to add the 2nd, had to clear the first face profile to scan the second one. Problem is: Apparently that deleted the profile for the 2nd one. Now, the 2 in the cart had the same profile. Should have done the first order, checked out, and then the 2nd order separately.
I pre-ordered the Vision Pro with 512GB storage. If I can do my editing with this device, I’ll certainly need it. Would be nice to know if iMovie will be supported.
Extremely frustrating that they don’t lock in your delivery time when you first choose checkout - and then give you multiple chances to pay. I always have this problem with iPhone ordering as my bank flags the first attempt as “possible fraud”. But there is no reason that Apple should have changed your pick up window just because an attempt to pay failed. Argh!!! I think I became more frustrated watching this happen to you than you did! Can’t wait to see the unboxing! I’m in Canada so can not order yet… which is also frustrating!
That would be an awful option for Apple when mass amounts of people are buying at the same time. Imagine if they locked the time for 10s of thousands of people and they were just checking out the process stead of buying? They’d have to push actual buyers way further and later on have several available slots. Not good for business.

When you click checkout and choose your pickup time, that slot is reserved for you for 15 minutes. During that 15 minutes, you have multiple chances to complete your payment (if necessary). If you still haven’t successfully paid after 15 minutes, you slot is released. It’s simple and it’s fair. If “thousands of people are just checking out the process” and they woke up before you, then boo-hoo, you have to wait an extra 15 minutes to buy yours. Wake up earlier and be first line. An eager customer should not be penalized because ApplePay didn’t work or their bank wanted to verify the purchase before releasing funds. 🙄
I’ve realized that people who wear glasses have to spend more time during buying Vision Pro because they have more questions to answer compared to someone who doesn’t wear glasses which means time slots are taken during pre order because people are buying it quickly.
I wasn't using ApplePay, just using my Amex, directly, but here in the SF Bay, the pick-up in store time slots where going fast! I ended up getting slotted to Saturday morning. It was the only way I could get everything before my trip on the 5th.
I was on the phone for over 2 hrs and they wanted me to cancel it and order another and then that was scary bc what if they ran out in that time or what if it created another error . So I just ordered another one and have not cancelled the one going to New Jersey
You gotta just order the device as quickly as possible, no time for looking at accessories and reading stuff 😅that can be done later. That’s what I did and got 2/2 for in store pickup.
Lol that was painful to watch. Same thing happened to me but I knew it was just a pick up time issue and secured a 3 pm slot day 1 after couple tries. Then a couple hours later I was able to go back into my order and adjust the pickup time to 8 am. I knew it was way too glitchy for those times to go that quickly so I'm glad I checked later. Now I can't adjust it. Hope others figured that out in time and pushed their order up.

I was on the phone and online at 8am. Got pushed to shipping MARCH because of the in-store appointment scheduling issue and the complete lack of support over the phone. They might as well have not even been there. Stuck with shipping now. So turned off by the whole experience. I had planned in advance and it didn’t matter. They just stopped allowing in-store pick up after about 10-15 min in. There was also a point when the Apple Store app just kept giving me error messages over and over. Why wouldn’t it behave like a movie theater ticketing experience where the slot is held for 5 minutes while you complete the transaction?! Why not have the order shipped to the store if the customer wants pick up? This isn’t rocket science. Considering canceling now. Left me in a sh!t mood all day.
It’s not Apple Pay. It’s that the pickup appointment time was getting grabbed by others, sending you back a step. Even though I know you’re rushing to get through the transaction, you need to slow down and read the prompts. Noticed also when you were doing the face scan, it is not the full roundabout Face ID scan behavior (even though that worked). It’s just looking up, down, left, right, which is also laid out in the prompts. When you do get your Vision Pro and do the setup for your persona, pay attention to the instructions provided.
If you go back and look read the message, the reason your payments were failing is because the selected pickup time was no longer available. Just need to slow down and read the messages.

I feel as if they’re going to release a more affordable version in the next coming year or so as they don’t plan to sell a whole lot of this particular unit. Similar to the Apple Lisa and the Macintosh

its a expensive device, i think you will regret the 256gb storage you need at-least 512GB because XR apps and games are huge in size because of the 3d visual.
It doesn’t really have any apps yet. And most people are going to be using their computer or iPhone connected to the headset. Especially for the multi monitor workspace setup, you essentially are just using this as a monitor for your laptop or desktop, so storage is less of an issue as long as that is how you use it.
Videos like this are so gross: Watching content creators blow tons of cash in front of their viewer ls is such a disgusting act of “humble bragging.” Why? Many viewers won’t ever be able to afford such a niche product, and doing it in front of them just such a gross declaration of status. On top of that saying how much available credit you have on your Apple Card disrespects them even more. Look - I’m all for enthusiasm for new products, I’m a die-hard Apple fan myself, but there is making content that’s respectful, and considerate of your viewers. The ordering process can be explained without the witness of expensive purchases - differentiating you from your viewers. Good luck with the Vision Pro, though. It did the same thing for me, I had to put 2pm for pickup on Friday. It was not Apple Pay, it was the pick up time.
I chose delivery because the appointment option was declining my payment.
You can probably still change your pick up time to an earlier time frame. Check your order and see if you can get an earlier time window.
