And yet, I still want one of these. I tell myself it'll help me get into even more inks and paper. I appreciate the testing of different inks. That will be most helpful.
These types of reviews are amazing and what I want so bad. Especially when some people have just turned into unboxing channels that don't give actual opinions or critique in their "reviews". Yours on the other hand went in depth and tried out so many options. Such a good job. Also great mech drawings throughout.
I have been buying pens like crazy and my conclusion is that pens are just pens and none of them are going to give this illumination moment. I think that capitalism taught us that buying is a kind of hope, so we buy and buy hoping something amazing is going to happen. But after a collection of varied pens (dip, fountain, felt tip, etc etc), is nice to realize that everything is already ok and nothing is actually lacking.
I totally get having “a go to tool for the work you’re doing” and finding something that just clicks with what you’re trying to do and opens new things up is a great feeling. Much love.
I love your supply videos, I feel like you always bring a unique perspective and try out such interesting supplies. I’m a watercolour painter and I don’t do a lot of line work so it’s so cool to see you trying out stuff I would never have reason to try myself!!
I feel this so hard. I always get new random ass pens and pencils but at the end of the day my favorite drawing tool is a 0.5 HB mechanical pencil. And it kinda bums me out because i long for the richness of inks and also like sketching in ink, but it always ends up looking so attrocious i revert to the graphite edit: I have been doing an entire sketchbook in ballpoint pens now and im not going back 💪
@@robb9777 i have challenged myself to just stick with inks and been using BP pens and some ink pens and now i stick with that! its a lot more fun to not worry about smearing and smudging
I think it has come to the point where drawing on paper has become as much about the tactile, sensory experience as anything. Really, digital is pretty much the most versatile and probably best media in most ways, but still many of us continue to draw with pens and pencils on paper, and I believe we have started to recognize the other values of analogue creativity. So really, this makes perfect sense. We'll always be questing for the best experience, and likely enjoying a number of different experiences while never quite being fully satisfied.
No mater how far technology will go, it will never be my favorite way of drawing/painting. Analog/is the way to go for me. The more the years goes by, the more I realize how true is the phrase "Old is Gold!"

It is amazing you can draw complex mechs so well without many guidelines. I can't imagine how much you practiced getting there. I am also obsessed with collecting pens and pencils and trying to find a favorite. I think dip pens are fun but not as convenient. Interesting how the different inks have a different flow. I personally really like my Tombow Fudenosuke brush pens.
I just bought some of those brush pens, they’re the hard version, and boy do they have some stiff tips! I’m used to a Sakura brush pen which is super flexible. Do you know how different the soft and hard tips on the Fudenodukes are?
@@Gingrnut The soft top will definitely be more flexible and easier for more line width variations. It is still more stiff than a usual brush pen but you have a ton of control and the tip is softer, making it glide better than the hard tip.

I always go back to the Zebra G nib. I have some Ackerman Pens fountain pens that you can fit a Zebra G nib to, which I combine with Röhrer & Klingner Lotte Sketch Ink (a very waterproof fountain pen ink. The inkflow can be very random but not dipping the Zebra G all time is such a timesaver.

If I'm not drawing often, I draw with an FA or PO nib, since I don't have to worry about ink drying up and they're nice to write with as well. I prefer very fine lines, but I like the expressiveness of the FA nib, just fountain pen ink doesn't lay down as dark and that can affect the quality of the picture and it's not lightfast at all. I do think it's beautiful just a regular cheap pencil is as good as anything for drawing, although it encourages bad habits when you're a beginner. I recommend using waterproof fountain pen ink. When I first started using dip pens I had the same experience as you and later I found the best waterproof ink to combine with dipping pens was the one for fountain pens! Why? Since fountain pens are very sensitive, quick drying ink will clog and waterproof ink for fountain pens meets that criterion 👍. Just keep the ink bottles labeled for dip pens aside, they dry very quickly.

Im using a brause blue pumpkin nib, and bombay india ink
I recommend using waterproof fountain pen ink.
When I first started using dip pens I had the same experience as you and later I found the best waterproof ink to combine with dipping pens was the one for fountain pens! Why? Since fountain pens are very sensitive, quick drying ink will clog and waterproof ink for fountain pens meets that criterion 👍.
Just keep the ink bottles labeled for dip pens aside, they dry very quickly.
Love your drawing style man and yeah I go through the same thing with the buying products lol
Stickerrific cameo lolol
yes glass pens are supposed to only draw uniform width lines its kind of the whole point of it

And also: '...but I keep trying because, novelty is novel, and sometimes that's good enough.'

Its your fault now I like fountain pens since you made me discover inmersión nibs!!!
Sorry not sorry
I feel the same way about buying things except it’s for every single thing I own
chroma moma is like ricky tinez, but for art instead of music.
I think that Kakimori ink is pigment ink too. I like kakimori kurun, very beautiful ink and light fast.
Are you displaying your silver play button in the box that it came with?
hey chroma, why don't u try using isograph pens?
They say it's really good for drawing and its also refillable so I would love to see u talk abt this types of pens and if they are much better than dip pens.
I NEED THAT SHIIIIIIIIIIRRRRTTTT
YES I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Nice shirt! I haven't read Norwegian Wood, but Murakami is a favorite of mine.
That shirt is amazing
Am I feeling a little bit like... The spirited man perhaps?
Cant believe you are a climber!!!!!!!! Now i like your videos even more hahahaha
Day 1 of asking Chroma to publish a book with his artworks 🙏
is that fire break from Black ops 3?
I imagine even if the tines get dry ink you could clean them with a tooth brush or straw cleaner.
its funny how now i have a japan pantomime for sounding the same as you
What studies do you make for draw robots like that please? Thank you
Pilot G-TEC-C4 are awesome and you can buy refills.
Yes they are!
And tell me the store and the name of the product where you bought
should invest in some la sportiva katanas, saved up for ages but definitely worth it.
"a thing that is the best thing for the thing that it does" that really confused me lol
awesome video bro!!!
Hi!
Can you tell me the name of the music that appears in 16:14?
This music just hit me so hard, I've been searching for about 15 minutes but i just can't find it for some reason.
Thanks for the many days of trial. Yet at this pen's price point, it had better sing, dance, and bring me breakfast in bed.
wow, so nice ,❤😍 new subscriber
is there a csp brush like this pen especially the zebra g nip
