Putting in the hours producing gibberish has worked well for me at least in terms of learning the tools and art of production. Frankly, it’s my favorite way to do things right now. Start with anything, a little noodle, someone else chord progression or bass line, a simple beat, and build it from there.
i been practicing for 2 years i write easily , i just started realising aswell another pit fall is wanting to sound like other artists , when you learn production you will become fully yourself so its not supposed to sound like ur fav artist its you
Hi I've recently gotten into music production myself and I've really grown to be a fan of your channel. I was wondering if you could do a video on producing more dream poppy tunes / Jangle pop tunes like the kind we see from Her's. Regardless, your channel is great, thanks for the music production insight!
Hey, I was wondering if You’d be available to hire? I’m an artist and I have a demo song produced to the best of my ability and I was hoping to hire someone to help me complete it. I know you have a producer- coaching course but I was wondering if you’re available for hire as a producer/mixer yourself?
What holds back alot of producers ? Not actually knowing how to play instruments, not knowing actual music theory, including being able to read music, depending on sample packs, not training your ears, not mastering your daw /s of choice, following trends , and lastly, creating a unique sound and style and finding like artist... My suggestions
I’m not sure if I agree with “not knowing theory or how to read music”. I don’t know theory or how to read and I feel very comfortable crafting music. At the same time, I think having somewhat of an understanding of the language of how music relates to itself is important. I agree with other points you’ve made, but I don’t think you have to be able to understand theory or read music to make great art.

Is it watching TH-cam on the toilet. Cause you’re right
Hahaha it’s not but that’s on the list
I also really started listening to music. I take songs and listen to each part and I run songs through eq to see where parts sit etc. teaches a lot
For sure! It’s crazy how much we can learn from just listening to
I really agree with you on this man! Nice to see some one talk about these things
Thank you! Glad it resonated with you
I feel that man, started learning production a couple years ago and before that it was much easier for me to write over beats my friends made.
I feel this 100% Love the advice
