Personally, video aside, for better audio quality (less noise), I would prefer a field recorder. If you need an all in one package, then this is a great package and you'll probably be most pleased. It's pretty impressive what SHURE had done with this package. The Shure MV88+, definitely has its place for less equipment carry around, fast results - audio and video together, etc. but you're limited with it because you're tied to the phone. I understand this is what it was made for but the question really boils down to this; Are you in the niche market of making videos with the upper smartphones/tablets that this product caters to? If so, you'll probably be most pleased. If not, then you may find that despite its amazing feature set, this device can be claustrophobic in relation to other audio equipment given cost to price performance. I'm looking forward to Shure's future with further developments of this type of technology.

Very nice and interesting video; however i really have to say that this thing doesn't sound any better than the original iPhone mic sounds. maybe it was just the entire atmosphere of where you are but honestly her lapel mic sounded waaaaay better than this device. Thanks for this video!
The camera app definitely needs a split screen(front cam/back cam) simultaneously recording feature for mobile one on one video podcasting. That feature will make this product even more appealing. Just set it up on the table and record.
I must say it sounds a little thin sounding and I would also say your Camera's sound is far better. What does it actually sound like in the wind?? Still the mic is perhaps settings related?
I"ve had it for some years but never really explored the possibilities. Tried last night: our little group was playing for a very noisy dinner party audience. How to minimize that noise? I ahd it set up with the camera, on a little tripod on a chair in front of the stage so it was facing us but still huge background noise. Suggestions?
One tiny detail...how do you keep the iPhone charged while you've got the mic plugged in? The mic drains juice, and along with recording video my battery is drained in about 90 minutes.
Using the Acapella app I'm having latency problems with an MV88 using Bluetooth earphones. Subsequent parts recorded on Acapella are not in synch with previously recorded parts. Will the MV88+ solve that problem with wired earphones?
I need a mic like that which picks up the low end, bass tones. These all sound bright, like they’re cutting down the low, which is what the iPhone internal mics and speakers are notorious for. Anyone know what is best for this purpose, specifically for music?
I going to be doing vlogs reaction videos outside walking along the sidewalk, what’s the best preset I should use to reduce the sound of cars driving by |the stereo 60 degrees or the cardioid or which one think is best, thanks this would be helpful since I just bought this
Still intrigued with this product. How would it handle a Facebook live situation? For example, I often stream live sports events for family that can't travel to watch. I know battery life on my phone is an issue but would this mic work in a situation where the game is streaming and I can talk throughout to inform others of scores, summarize matches, etc.?
No stereo vu- meter display on screen like on IPhone , Just mono, no matter what setup I make. Tested on android smartphones Samsung S 10, S 21, A 50, Any advice?
Excellent presentation. I purchased one before seeing the video. Not sure why the audio demos sounded thin and less loud when playing back? Must be the discrepancy between the overhead you're using and the MV 88. Hopefully, it doesn't sound as thin as in the video. Thanks for the presentation.
its a great unit and you will love it - I use it constantly! This was filmed under extreme conditions in a very busy and loud event (not to mention how TH-cam deals with video quality/ sound etc.)
From what I’ve heard from this mic, I’m impressed! I have a Rhode and do not like it. One day I hope I can afford to get this MV88 for doing my videos outside.
I think they had a very flat EQ setting throughout, which is awful in that kind of ambient sound. With a little tweaking in the settings they could have produced a much more satisfying result on every clip.

Her personal phone is Samung and at CES we hooked up an iPhone. Not sure whats the problem here but I have been using it for two years on multiple Android phones and its perfect.
@@LironSegev can you tell me please which android phone works perfect with mv88+? because I recently bought mic and I have problems,
When I open Motiv video, there is only mono signal shown no matter what setup I make and I need that mic for stereo video performance recordings , I have tested on samsung s21 (s10 is on shure compatibility list) and a50
@@valterkukovic I use it on my S20 and Pixel with no issues. You may have a faulty unit. Contact their support
@@LironSegev thanks for reply, But it's strange because in motiv audio application is shown stereo signal in motiv video application only mono
@@LironSegev Sorry for interrupting, in motiv audio application shows left right input but in motiv video application only one ( mono ), but there's no difference in sound ! Is it possible that is normal to show mono in video aplications on android smartphone? If you say that is not normal, than I will know that fault is in mic, thanks
