Defense in General. We have the one thing DQ & Whitt were missing in Dallas in a Strong IDL with Allen, Payne, Ridgeway(who we stole from DQ/DAL) and one of the biggest steals in the draft Johnny Newton. Jamin had been developing each year and now with Wagner & Luvu he has vets to help him take an even bigger step so the LB group is good enough to set and forget for DQ/JWJ, but Luvu and Jamin will also likely be how DQ/JWJ generate pass rush along with the IDL. I expect when Newton is fully healthy to see a lot of 4-3 looks like Allen/Payne/Newton as the DL with Jamin and Luvu at OLB and Wagner & Chinn at LB. they are also gonna do what they always do and maximize the Secondary. BSJ will take a big step up as the CB1, Forbes is gonna fulfill his ballhawk potential, and Sanristil is gonna ball out the gate in the slot. D-Fo is gonna get back to the level he showed in his 2nd season, and Quan is gonna break out and become a real game-changer. Hopefully, Butler can make an impact too to make the rotation even stronger. Tariq Castro-Fields was one of Adam Peters' guys from SF before we stole him like Ridgeway, and he's a big long athletic CB who could make a surprise impact as well. If not on defense Butler and Fields could start to move into that Jeremy Reeves special teams standout role too.

Nice podcast. Let’s rate reach group on O and D in terms of I =improved W =worse and S=same. QB =I Oline =I RB=I TE=I Receivers=I D line =w LB=I secondary =I Special teams =I Coaches =I I could make an argument that the D line is at worst the same but I believe it too will be better. I think it’s hard to argue that the team has not improved in the areas noted. I think the group that has been improved the most is special teams an area that seemed to be almost ignored by previous regime. I’m also not sure the team won’t add a couple more players before season starts.

Luke will see more time on the field than Dyami. I also suspect Luke will be much more productive. Dyami needs to show a bunch more this year if he wants to make the team next year.

They will do exactly what they said day 1. Build through the draft. We will have 6-7 wins, trade Payne and or Allen......Heck I can even see them tradin TERRY. They will then draft younger players to have a "Base" team of decent to good young players, and start to add "Top Tier" guys in year 3. All the while rolling over as much cap $$ as allowed. I could see them going after Smith, or maybe Bakhtiari if our LTs struggle mightily in camp, but if they look even salvageable as starters, he may just roll with what we got. We just gotta hope JD doesnt get injured.

WR/TE is probably my opinion on strongest position. We have a great WR room and we upgraded big time in the off-season with Ertz and Sinnott
