- CJ Gardner Johnson (who was on the team that went to the Super Bowl)
- Deven White (who has won a Super Bowl)
- Bryce Huff
- Jalen Carter in year 2
- Isiah Rodgers, who was a solid cornerback with the Colts
- Zack Baun
- 2 top 10 DBs coming out of the draft
Interesting... Now that you laid it out I could see a moderate improvement. Reddick (even on a down year) was still better than all those players. but some solid backups. My thing is the eagles looked very gimmicky to me. It was like the Dolphins when they started the Wildcat (yea I'm old). Teams just adjusted then they started getting beat. Even by bad teams toward the end. But hey. I could be wrong.
@@shawnsmith5668 Philly looked gimmicky last year? Their offense ran like 4 basic plays, they maybe had the most vanilla offense ever last year out of any team with actual talent. (I get vanilla offense when you have rookies or a not-so-good team, but Hurts/Brown/Smith/Kecle/Swift/Goedert?!!.) When a QB sneak is the thing your team is known for offensively, you got a problem.
Also the defense was terrible - Nick mentions the new DC/OC aren't impressive to him.... but did you see what the Eagles had last year? Brian Johnson was an embarrassment of an OC and MATT PATRICIA was brought in to help the defense late last year. That's like bringing in Josh Rosen to help the QB room lol, it ain't gonna work.

Not sure exactly how this is a noticeable improvement on one of last year’s worst defenses. Maybe if some of these free agent pick ups play above their previous levels and the rookies are a hit, it works out. Assuming they take well to an old hardass like Vic Fangio.

Yea but in 2021 they went on a run at the end of a year and made the playoffs, then went on a SB run in 2022, that propelled them to start off good in the 22 and 23 season, this past year they finished 1-5 being blown out by the Giants, Cowboys and Niners and the Buccs in their playoff loss, plus you lost the best center in the league, signed a different RB with an injury history and have a new OC and your approach is to rest them and not let them have some game time together? There's nothing positive about that

Eagles also beat KC on the road last year and went 11-5. Cowboys went 12-5. There isnt a giant window in the first place between them. The cowboys got atleast a game worse and the eagles got atleast a game better.

I wonder about Jerry's ineptitude with contract negotiations. Could it be that in his business dealings outside of football that Jerry is used to having the leverage in any negotiation? But with contracts with NFL contracts he's not the one with the leverage, it's usually the player and Jerry doesn't handle that very well.
Maybe, but I think it has to do with all the press he gets by waiting until the last minute to sign his guys. All sports media talk about is the Cowboys and their contract negotiations, any press is good press for Jerry. He doesn't care about the money since the Cowboys are valued at $10 billion.
Jerry Jones is cheap. By delaying paying their own players they end up spending $30m less a year. That’s $30m towards his super yacht. The eagles signed a big contract QB, 2 receivers and 2 O linemen and still were able to sign Saquon and Bryce Huff this offseason. That takes signing your own players early and spending real money to spread out the cap hit. Jerry is playing 4D chess on his yacht while us poors swallow the lies.
