Man that ship is a hell of a beast. Maybe try putting up against the Galaxy Class X from Hell. You really mopped up those 4 Warbirds quickly. I was really impressed with that.
While I didn't like how the Season 1 fleet was all of this class I got the impression that thanks to its warp 9.99 speed it was being used as a newly established rapid response fleet that could respond to a threat extremely rapidly compared to the rest of Starfleet and due to that purpose it was made to be extremely armed and armored. Starfleet wasn't going to have anymore Wolf 359's where it threw in whatever was available.
It seems overtuned to me at the moment. The Inquiry-class is the predecessor to the Avenger-class, a small pocket battlecruiser themed after the same kind of technology available on the Odyssey-class. For reference, this Eaglemoss ship review: th-cam.com/video/NooFaIaM2YI/w-d-xo.html That the Inquiry and Avenger would be powerful for their weight class is undeniable. Having so many very cost-effective pocket battlecruiser would indeed fit in the 'toughest, fastest, most powerful' ship category on a size-to-power ratio. But, honestly, that was very sloppy flying. Your shield facings were down and you took an enormous amount of damage through them... only to end up with barely 1/5 of your hull depleted. The warp core is so overtuned that it could probably be 80% damaged and still feed you enough power to feed all your systems. Do I think the Inquiry should be able to destroy the Enterprise-F? Yes, with skillful flying and strategy. But it should be the underdog of this scenario. Right now, this is just this week's overtuned novelty.
I’ve given this a read, and I tested this ship in terms of balacing for hours and hours to days on end, it might be a slight bit overpowered right now however this mod is still in development, I will take your word into advice, and the reason why this ship is so strong is mainly because in lore, it is supposed to have borg nanite armour, and 10 layers of shielding, giving it riker’s rightful description, but considering there are 2 other generations ahead significantly stronger than this ship, I might still play around with the balancing, thank you for your advice! 🤝
and one more thing, it is still the underdog-ish, the only thing in its way being the quantum torpedo volley, however in game stats such as shields, hull, phaser damage, and armour, the inquiry’s stats are slightly less than the odyssey’s also coupled with the fact that the odyssey class redistributes its shields. Plus, the inquiry class was put into service in 2399, when the odyssey was put into service in 2384
Inquiry nut overpowered. It should be able to take on Odyssey fairly easily. Inquiry designed for battle a la Defiant, Odyssey primarily for exploration like Ent-D. Likely similar weapon and shield systems, Odyssey is larger (though Inquiry already fairly large as 640m long by canon), Inquiry superior-armored.

I think it was the Dominion War, but also, largely the threat presented by the Scimitar. That almost went really badly. A single ship from a peer level adversary was almost able to destroy Earth. Starfleet only had two options: either start building Scimitars of their own, or drastically increase the size of the fleet so they could handle any future threats like the Scimitar which appeared. Like, is there anything stopping some of their more aggressive neighbors from fielding fleets of Scimitar-level ships? This was a whole new level of danger. It was a drastic escalation from the types of capital ships Starfleet had been seeing for centuries.
They've changed for the appearance of the Inquiry-Class for Picard season 2. The ship now has a traditional deflector dish that looks much better. I think they took the revamped STO model for that.
I do not have anything against the design or style, but it just seems smaller & less dangerous than an odyssey class does. Smaller size to me makes me feel like it has less options too. Like less science labs, no saucer separation & less space for things.
I got some ideas on how to soup up the Oberth and California classes if interested.....(I don't have this game, I live through you and others playing this game, but I'm all about the underdog) let me know if you're interested in my ideas.
BUT it is hardly invincible and you still have to be careful with it, as the 1701-F can blow it up if the pilot isn't careful with how the Inquiry takes damage.
He wasn't careful and still didn't get blown up. The Inquiry's warp core and armor probably need to be brought down to balance with that weapon payload.

I really... really... REALLY despise the way that deflector looks. A lot about the ship looks fine from the top, but then the bottom part of the main hull comes into view and it's just eeeeeeewwwwww.... I'm fairly certain I could've made a much better looking armoured main deflector.
The problem is that all this is barely beta beta canon. We could see a totally different ship in the next episode of Picard which would make this video total bulls*@t! Personally, despite my previous (1st) impressions, I've decided this is a great ship simply because unlike the VAST MAJORITY of Starfleet ships, this one protects itself (and its crew). But it only takes one episode of "real" Star Trek to screw with the perception in my head.
the way Star Trek Picard introduced this ship was the most lazy and underwhelming thing I've ever seen, with some of the worst story and lines, It's so sad how they did this ship dirty.
The torpedo volley is pretty deadly. Shame we cant see a pvp match as the F's shield rebalancing capability could even this out. Wasn't the creator of the remastered mod working on an online pvp mode? I remember you mention that during pre-launch
They did actually get Multiplayer working, and there's a new Wave Defense Pve/PvP game mode. The bc-central guys have a discord and run servers for online match's periodically.
From what I remember in lore, the Inquiry class was built as a response after the synth terrorist attack destroyed two thirds of Starfleet in 2385. The Federation was in panic and went into defensive mode, mass producing the Inquiry as a fast response ship just in case someone decided to take advantage of a weakened Starfleet. By the mid 2390's the paranoia had passed and Starfleet began building exploration vessels again. This is where Star Trek Picard picks up in the timeline. At least, that's the best explanation I can infer. Most likely the studio just wanted a cool shot of Riker showing off Starfleet.
I still don't know anything about the Inquiry class... I call Riker's ship the Feng Shui 😆 (I might have spelled that wrong). I'm not even positive about the F, but from Riker's boasting (which may have been a bluff), the Inquiry should win. Edit: That was pretty close... if you were at the helm, the F might have taken the Inquiry. The Inquiry was impressive... Riker wasn't bluffing for once 😆. Yes, I think that after the Borg and the Dominion, Starfleet learned that it had to stop making heavily armed cruise ships 😄.

No, Inquiry is a better ship for battle than Odyssey, latter being a more general ship of exploration. After all, Ent-F is being decommissioned in Picard S3 and Inquiry still going strong.
@@TheChillee The original lore in Star Trek Online for the Odyssey had it developed in 2409. Writers on the show changed it to the 2380s. Therefore, if it had its original lore behind it, the Inquiry would have a hard time dealing with it.

the deflector isnt a phaser beam its an anti-polaron beam, all of the phaser arrays themselves can overload here and there, its an ability this ship has , and thank you so much for making a video about this mod!!

The design was revised a bit for season 2. Gave it a proper deflector dish. It makes it a more handsome vessel.
I preferred the grill deflector. Gave this class its own identity.

inquiry class has that f-22 raptor feel for me. i couldnt stand the ship when i first saw it on picard..but the darn thing has grown on me

I love the enterprise f! For me it’s a powerhouse, taking on tons of enemies at once but the inquiry is quite a match
