I can actually say that I have learned so much more from your channel than from anyone! You make it so much easy to grasp, I can't thank you enough 👍😘 Have a super weekend!
Good Sir! You are LITERARILY a photo genius!!! Ive always felt that if you can teach something to a child then you havent mastered it at all! Your tutorials are sooooo simple and practical! I absolutely love your channel!!! I have learnt so much in such a little time! Thank you immensely!
Hi Paul thanks for your help in teaching me long exposure photography can you use an 10 stop ND filter at night Thanks for your info I have learned quite a bit from you Nigel Groser
Love the channel. I happened to find a Canon 2000D while cleaning out a house that was abandoned. It’s in great condition and I started to do my photography journey and you were the first video I have come across. Learned so much thank you for all you’re doing.
After years of finding excuses not to spent money on camera and gear I’ve ran out of them, and watching almost all of your videos I said it’s time. Went on and bought Fuji X-T4 and opted for the FujiFilm XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR lens and also grabbed a FujiFilm XF 50mm f/2 R WR. Not to mention all the extras I got (flash, filters, extra batteries and whatnot) it was a rather expensive shopping spree for me. I’m so thankful for all the free content you are putting up online for all the noobs like me, and I’d gladly buy you a lunch, or a beer (just not Fosters). Now am here, humbly asking if it’d be to much of a trouble for you to make a little video on Fuji cameras and their shooting modes ( aperture, shutter priority how to). These modes are so confusing. Got A, B and T on the right dial with tons of other buttons. It’s overwhelming. Once again, can’t stress this enough - you sir are a gift.
Very professionally done very informative and easy to follow especially for a beginner I am a 48 year veteran photojournalist and stumbled upon the site and I think it's great teaching those who want to get involved in different areas of photography my hat off to you for doing such a great job and keeping it simple and not trying to confuse people. Excellent work!
Very informative tutorial and very likable speaker making it easy to understand what he is talking about excellent work 48-year veteran photojournalist Mike Asaro
Just a week ago since I bought my first DSLR camera, and I can easily say that Paul has the best method to teach this stuff, I enjoy the videos and the way he explains everything. Greetings from Costa Rica.
Using long exposure is great for getting trail shots of the International Space Station (ISS) as it passes overhead late at night. I did a lot of experimenting last year trying out different shutter speeds 🙂
I have to thank you Paul. I am taking a photography course and for extra research I have watched dozens of tutorials and yours are the easiest to understand and the ones I look forward to most for new content. I am a little late on the challenges but since I am learning about my Canon from A to Z, I am going to do all of your challenges starting at the beginning. I love the way you express yourself and teach. It has meant everything and kept my motivation to learn. Thank you.
Many thanks Paul for your efforts. I have been a photographer for some years now and move between all aspects of the art. Your work acts as a reminder and refresher of subjects that I haven't used recently and is invaluable in getting me up to speed once more, thanks again Francis.
Hi Paul, really interesting video thankyou - I need to do some experimentation to see what I can achieve. Bulb mode on a D3500 might be challenging as the remote is the phone .. lets see if it works!
I just bought a DSLR camera last weekend and yesterday, i tried to do some long exposure photos in the night. I tried to shoot the stars, however it was a bit overcast. Perhaps in the next few days I get the shot I want
You're not alone Brother, been practicing with sunsets because the night sky is too cloudy, waiting for the moon phases to cycle again, check out Paul's video on moon photography if you haven't already.
I was actually out a couple of evenings ago trying to get an extra long star trail shot to include in the long exposure video, however cloudy conditions put a stop to it. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel Mike and Mark. Paul @ Photo Genius.
Love the videos! Really inspiring to help me get and start shooting again, even with a medium format camera, these ideas relevant!. I use two Fuji cameras: xpro2 and a gx680(mf).
Very interesting video. I am a new photographer and your videos have been amazing. Because of your videos I have inched closer and closer to being able to go full manual. Currently I either shoot in program or apeture priority
Hi Paul, I'm new to your channel and just watched my first video and have subscribed to you!! Really enjoyed your Long Exposure Video and have learned so much and very quickly, so thank you very much! I look forward to watching more of your videos. Cheers, Vera Deans.
I have an old Canon Rebel t2i 550 D from 2010 so I do believe it is DSLR info you use manual very often but am still not familiar with all my settings and shutter speeds
Good presentation. Have you done a lesson using Live View mode for long exposure? I find using those capabilities in cameras today really gives the photographer a great advantage to creating a good photo. It would be highly informative to get your insights on that workflow.
Hello. I am trying to change the ISO on my (new) D3500 so that I can do some astrophotography tonight. I have the flash setting on 20 F3.5 and I believe I need the ISO on 1600 (?) I am camping at a lake in the middle of nowhere and have amazing starlit nights!
Press the "I" button on the rear of the camera, the display will change and you will see ISO over to the right - use the buttons to select ISO, press OK and yo will be able to change it - press ok to confirm change. You mention "flash setting on 20" ?? I'm guessing you meant shutter speed?
@@photogenius so I am set up in an AMAZING dark rural setting with thr most brilliant starry night. I wemt to take photos and an alert came up on my screen stating ' subject is too dark. Cannot adjust exposure. Use the flash' Please Help! My setting is on manual 30" F 3.5 ISO 1600
Ignore the subject is too dark message and go ahead and take the shot. The tricky thing may be focusing if it’s that dark so try manual focus if auto focus doesn’t work. You may find you need to push the ISO higher if the image is too dark. Good luck.
@@photogenius fantastic thanks so much. I am thrilled already with the images I have taken and I haven't yet viewed them on a bigger screen yet. I've had to stop a few times due to people driving into the reservoir park here with their high beams on. Pushing on.... :)
Great video! Aside from long exposure what shutter speed do you use most often in good light on stationary object without a tripod? Say with a nifty fifty?
Question for you Genius... How would I take a long exposure of the sunset or night sky, at a marina with sailboats in the harbor. I want the long exposure affect of the sky but how do I get the sharp image of the sailboats? As you can imagine, they sway in the water over time and you end up with blurry or not sharp sailboats. My uneducated answer would be two images merged together (One sharp and one long exposure). Your advice would be great. Thanks in advance
Hi Paul. I always appreciate your videos and how thorough you are with your explanations. I have a question that may seem silly. I'm assuming all of these tips will still apply even if I'm using the black and white (monochrome) setting of shooting with my camera. I prefer creating b&w's that way.
Oh- eh oh- eh joh- eh jo-eh jo me Tarzan, me swung by here. Me say good tutorial. Me swing on, you take care. Side idea: I use a gardena 18v 48w hour rechargeable batteri, with a dc/dc converter on 7.4v. No problems with flat batteri.

Well done Paul.

That is really cool. I have done late night photography where aircraft light trails were evident in the picture.

I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS BRO, CAN YOU DO A VIDEO REVIEW OF THE CANON 90D ? AS I REALLY WANT TO PURCHASE FOR 1ST CAMERA
Hi Paul, what settings do you recommend when taking pictures of Aurora borealis or Northern lights? Thanks a lot

Thank you love your channel, do know of any remotes for thr canon 2000d?
Hi Paul. I always appreciate your videos and how thorough you are with your explanations. I have a question that may seem silly. I'm assuming all of these tips will still apply even if I'm using the black and white (monochrome) setting of shooting with my camera. I prefer creating b&w's that way.
Shooting Monochrome will only affect the colours and will have no effect on exposure or focus. Thanks for watching Diane, appreciate the support.
Hi Paul. Why when i take one shot do i have two identical images when downloaded?
Have you used any ND filters for these long exposure captures?
Can u tell me long exposure beach Photography can u tell me the setting
