Hi Paul. I only recently got into photography (at 46 years old!!) and after much reading I decided on the Canon 2000d after you reviewed and recommended it... just wanted to say a big thank you for all your you tube videos!! So clear and by far the easiest videos for learning the basics of photography. Thanks and please keep up the videos
Great to hear, thank you for watching and taking a moment to comment - so glad you're loving your new camera. Thanks for watching, so many more videos to come 😀
Thank you, you are by far, the best on teaching basics on CANON TIPS.....I have a T6, and only after your help, I've able to just start using some of the great features of my camera........You got a fan in Brazil.....
I haven't watched your videos in a while, but watching this made me realize why I started following you in the first place. I had no clue you could adjust the focus by turning the front part of the lense. Thank you for your amazing videos!
Welcome back Alicia - thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave your feedback. There is always something to learn so I'm glad you enjoyed the video and picked up another cool tip. Best wishes Paul 😀

I have had the issue with nearly the same settings that the halfway down option takes the photo and doesnt focus. Depending on the scene I am taking, light and all. Why does it do that??? Please answer
If a half press of the photo does not activate Auto Focus then it sounds like you have the AF turned of. Is their a switch on the side of the lens ? If so make sure it is not set to MF (which is manual focus), once switched to AF your problem should be solved. if you have a lens that does not have the switch then you will need to check focus mode settings on the camera. Hope that helps.
I love videos that demystify relatively straitforward concepts. This opens the door for creative people to explore new mediums. What a great gift! People like you are the backbone of TH-cam!
Ive been too embraced to admit that I could not figure out how to focus my mirror less digital camera....even on auotofocus. These video tutorials are going to be revolutionary for me.
Thank you Paul! I've always stayed away from manual focus for fear of not getting it right, but with your instruction I can now do it! Love your channel!
Been watching your videos, thank you! I bought the t7/2000D and I’ve never really had a camera. I love all your videos and tutorials mostly because it seems that’s the camera you demonstrate. I have to admit it’s big learning curve and sometimes I have to watch the tutorials over again. It’s been a huge help. Went out to try twice and the second time I was much better
I have recently purchased the canon eos t7 . And surfed the internet for tutorials. Yours came up and I immediately subscribed. Your videos are very good, you present the information clearly and not overly wordy. I look forward to seeing future videos . And improvement in my photos . Keep up the good work.
Thank you Paul, for clarifying the focus points. I was having a tad difficulty grasping the use of them on my Canon 2000 D DSLR. I have been watching your channel for 10 months, or so, and I learn something new every week... Thank you, John- Pennsylvania. USA
Thank you so much for your video! I realized how powerful my canon EOS 4000D really is because of you. I was having trouble getting my camera to focus on specific subjects. You unveiled a lot of hidden gems I didn’t know about as far as specs on the camera that allow us to zoom in closer to focus on our subject. Had a shoot today with a 50mm lens and the pics were beyond amazing. You’re the goat💪🏽
Yet another thing I’ve learned. Thank you. Did not know the difference between the zoom and lens on the front. I’m just learning, I’m slow but I just practice and repeat. Your videos are so far the best to follow and understand. Thank you.
Ohhh, that's an amazing tip, I've never considered using the digital zoom to get your photo perfectly in focus, gonna try that as soon as my first DSLR arrives!
I am new an have a DSLR Canon EOS and watched a lot of your videos and feel Manual is far better than Auto also waiting for my new Zoom 55-300 lense thank you I will keep watching
I used to be keen on photography with SLR cameras, but study and life got in the way. Now many years later my family have given me a Nikon DSLR . Your videos are brilliant, helping me to relearn all I had forgotten and guide me in the use of a digital SLR. Your explanations are very clear. Thank you so much!
I agree 100% that we can and should move beyond Auto but. I had my camera for months before I could use it properly as everyone said 'Oh use manual' 'Manual is the only way' and of course, being clueless I tried and failed horribly. So I never diss starting with auto, we just need videos like yours to take that step forward and have even more fun .
I love my mirrorless Canon it makes photography fun and it has so many cool features. thanks for the lessons and I can't wait until they are more geared to the new mirorless world.
I've noticed the female model in a few of your videos and she is absolutely gorgeous! That being said, I have learned an awful lot from your tutorials, and really appreciate your work Paul
