- WHEN I TURNED 60 THIS SPRING I SAID I WANTED TO DO ONE LAST DIY ELK HUNT IN COLORADO WITH BOW. WORKED HARD AT GETTING IN SHAPE AND PRACTICED SHOOTING ALL SUMMER AND I WAS GRANTED A NICE 5X5 FOR MY HARD WORK. THANKS TO ADAM AND HUNTER FOR ALL THEIR HELP GETTING HIM OUT.
Great video man! Inspiring!! Just a heads up make sure you tag it the second you walk up on it, not after quartering, game warden will give you a ticket for that!! Take From experience👍 congrats again!!
Thanks for tip, was so excited and eager to get it quartered didn’t think of the tagging process, thanks for watching
awesome hunt great elk
Did you guys carry camp on your back or have a spike camp setup and hunt out of that ?
Had camp on our back
That had to be a rush when he turned your way going all out. Congratulations
It was in deed, thanks for watching
Fantastic video!!! What an adventure. Love it
Thank you so much, and thanks for watching
Awesome video! Hope I can still do that at 60
Thank you and thanks for watching
Congratulations! I bet that was crazy seeing him come back at you like that lol.
It was, thanks, did you hit the like button and share it, hoping for at least 60 likes
im going to be hunting otc this year during archery and would love some insight on a good trailhead to hit its hard to find good information and for people that say no theres hundreds of miles of trails giving some info to a fellow hunter isnt giving away your spot lol
Thanks and thanks for watching, if you would like to PM me I can try and give you some feedback to help
@@gottabeoutdoors i sent you an email title was anthony from youtube
dont let it be your last.. "Dont let the Old Man In"
I’ll try, lol thanks for watching
👏👏👏congrats to you guys, way to go!
Thank you and thanks for watching
Look like bull took step as you shot
Yes he did but in the moment and excitement I didn’t realize it, thanks for watching
Impressive that you got it done, you should be proud. Just the work that goes into everything scares many. And at 60 that is impressive. Good job.
thank you and thanks for watching.
Sometimes bad shots happen, but that is the "best bad shot" you can make. if you hit him in the ham like it appears to be. I have done that on deer Twice, one lunged at the shot and I don't know what happened the second time. Neither deer went far. I get the same report from others. Kudos for not sugar-coating it. Great trophy.
thanks, I agree its not what you want to do but like you said sometimes things go wrong but its the best bad shot there is. seeing a shot exactly like it on elk 101and seeing the bull drop within a minute gave me hope.thanks for watching
Congratulations man. Awesome bull. I’m made that same shot on a cow and she run 75 yards. Thanks for sharing. Beautiful place
Thanks and thanks for watching
Well done and thanks for the great video. That bull nearly ran you over after the shot. I shot a 6X6 bull in Colorado in 2019 with a misplaced shot a little far back and high - but got lucky and hit a main artery. He only went 250 yards and died. Sometimes you need a little luck !!! Keep up with the great videos.
thanks so much, I enjoyed capturing the hunt on video as much as the hunt!, thanks for watching
You sir are truly an inspiration. I have a feeling this isn’t your last elk hunt. Congratulations!
Well thanks, sometimes I wonder if I would t go again. Thanks for watching
He was still moving when you shot. Probably why you hit back.
Have your mouth call in and as soon as you mew he’ll stop then shoot.
Glad it all worked out.
Elk walk fast.
Good eating!
Thanks, besides him starting to walk the arrow rest was off but like you said glad it worked out in my favor and he has been real tasty. Thanks for watching
Great hunt. Shit happens with equipment. Good follow up. Congrats
Thanks, helps to get a little luck every now and then, thanks for watching
good going guys! don't think i would make it at 81 years old but sure glad you all did! makes midwest whitetail hunting look easy! lol thanks for shaRING YOUR HUNT!
well thank you and thanks for watching
I turn 56 next month and my body has gone downhill tremendously since I was 46. I have an undying passion for elk hunting, but I am not sure I could do what you did here. I hope to, we shall see. Nicely done, sir.
Thanks, if you put in the time training for it you can get through it and it’s well worth it to try. Thanks for watching and hope you make it out!
Congrats on a great bull! Sometime shots go bad, it happens . But experience told you to back out, and it paid off. Still getting it done at 60 out west is quite impressive! Thanks for sharing.
thank you so much and thanks for watching
Awesome hunt. I know those tears very well. Something spiritual about elk hunting.
so true, thanks and thanks for watching.
Good job man way to represent. At 55 myself heading out tomorrow for the closing. You stoked the fire.
Thanks and best of luck to you
Ok, that was a lifetime experience! Great sticking with the grueling tracking snd in the end a great reward.
thanks and thanks for watching. I think everyone has a bad shot once and its how you react and follow through is what makes the outcome.
Hats of to you on that one! 60 and still able! Great job on that one and hopefully you can find a place to still Elk hunt all the way to 70!
Thanks that would be nice to make it to 70
