2023 ELK HUNT DIY COLORADO

WHEN I TURNED 60 THIS SPRING I SAID I WANTED TO DO ONE LAST DIY ELK HUNT IN COLORADO WITH BOW. WORKED HARD AT GETTING IN SHAPE AND PRACTICED SHOOTING ALL SUMMER AND I WAS GRANTED A NICE 5X5 FOR MY HARD WORK. THANKS TO ADAM AND HUNTER FOR ALL THEIR HELP GETTING HIM OUT.

Sometimes bad shots happen, but that is the "best bad shot" you can make. if you hit him in the ham like it appears to be. I have done that on deer Twice, one lunged at the shot and I don't know what happened the second time. Neither deer went far. I get the same report from others. Kudos for not sugar-coating it. Great trophy.

thanks, I agree its not what you want to do but like you said sometimes things go wrong but its the best bad shot there is. seeing a shot exactly like it on elk 101and seeing the bull drop within a minute gave me hope.thanks for watching

Well done and thanks for the great video. That bull nearly ran you over after the shot. I shot a 6X6 bull in Colorado in 2019 with a misplaced shot a little far back and high - but got lucky and hit a main artery. He only went 250 yards and died. Sometimes you need a little luck !!! Keep up with the great videos.

Have your mouth call in and as soon as you mew he’ll stop then shoot.
