this makes me so sad that people treat their bunnies like that. Those bunnies clearly need a better home. They are abused and it makes me so sad that the owners are making their rabbits suffer. Not ok at all. It makes me sick to my stomach honestly. People can be very cruel to their own pets. That is so messed up

@@lolamichel3764 I'm 27yrs old and had doggos all my life, never even thought about adopting a bun. Somehow one got lost in my neighborhood, the owner never collected him and now I ended up adopting him since I'm a huge animal lover in general and would hate for him not to have a home. Only had a few hrs to research what I needed to give bunbun the best but he's been free roamed since day 1, had him since December 20th, 2020. Its just common sense to not cage or chain up another being. But safe to say I live with the bunbun😹😹 ,since he's taken over completely, not the usual "they live with me".... And surprise, surprise this video is no longer anywhere to be found on their channel, and comments on some of their other rabbit videos have been turned off. Hoping they'll take the learning opportunity and finally get their act together. Those bunnies deserve so much better.
They said before they got the pet that they were going to do their research before bringing any pet into their home and then they just impulse bought the bunnies (from a bunny rescue actually). They didn’t know that their nails were so sharp or that they weren’t for holding (which is how we know they didn’t do their research). They said they googled it after and it said that you weren’t really supposed to hold them, but they were going to figure out how to allow the kids to play with them, but you don’t play with a bunny, you watch them or feed them that’s it. And they said after they got the bunnies they were going to go into petsmart and figure out what they need for them 😑 I really hope their next video is a bunny set up update for the bunnies sake. They have all the resources to do better and it seemed like in the videos they were trying to learn.
I was just searching for it and yup...nowhere to be found. I am actually appalled at these kind of channels...they make their families do all sort of things just for their “fame” and money
@@favoredfilly7824 You can play with bunnies, but it must be on their terms. With my bunnies I let them run around and play and pretty much chomp on grass for about 5 hours a day straight, and while they are doing that, I will walk up to them, lower my hand into their eye range so they see me, move my hand in front of their nose, let them smell me so they know it’s me, then I stroke their head and ears. They love it. They often make happy bunny noises at that point. 🥰🐰 And sometimes they will just randomly run up to me and headbutt me, until they get attention and grooms. Then they run back to eating grass. So you can play with bunnies, but only if you play by their rules. If you do, you get to see bunny binkies! So cute.
@@Erakius323 I meant you can’t play with them like dolls or toys. You can watch them and pet them and feed them, but you can’t play with them like a dog or like a toy.

This is so disturbing!! And plus it looked like it was STAGED with the razor already being in the room and the hair being clearly visible. This would be even worse because they might have cut the bunny’s hair for clout or fame or attention. This is NOT okay!
@@favoredfilly7824 I feel bad for those bunnies and also those kids with them being dumb enough to cut the bunny's hairs, they could have cut the hair to the point where they cut the f****ng skin!😡. @Izzy Nielson yeah I understand 😞 its just cruel to me just to see this kind of stuff I hope to God it's staged because if it's not, those parents shouldn't have kids in general not even a pet
I’m not even convinced it was the kids that cut the bunny’s hair. It seems very staged. Either the parents did it or they told their kids to do it. Idk it just seemed like they were acting
I checked out their videos and they seem to stage a lot of situations or make prank videos. And the way the thumbnail looked just makes me think it could be possible. Rabbits are not toys and they are not dolls :(
What they do next with their bunnies, deciding to fix their mistakes and better their rabbit care or just ignoring it will show their true colors. They have definitely watched the video because they deleted the one on their channel that she reacted to
Also, my children are wonderful with my bunny because we did research together! We watched all of Lennon the Bunny videos together. I supervise them with her, and I take on the main responsibilities of her. Bunnies can be a wonderful family pet with children IF the parents are responsible and educated!
Exactly! My brother begged for a rabbit and we were planning to get one, as soon as I found out I did a ton of research and now (I can’t free roam my bunny 24/7) he lives in a playpen and he freeroams for around 30 mins a day, or every other day, and we’re planning to get him a little friend
@@M1_1SHR00M I got a baby bunny a week ago. He started in a playpen but as he gets acclimated to me and my boyfriend’s voice and touch and generally the new area, we add more time out of the secluded area. He went from being out every couple hours to now practically being out the entire day (until we leave to run quick errands if we both have to leave or go to sleep at night.) He isn’t potty trained yet and we can’t neuter him since he’s too little, so we’re slowly acclimating him to free roam, that way he’s litter trained faster and more comfortable at his pace. He sure does a lot of binkies when he’s out though! 🤍
i’m a 12 almost 13 yr old and i did months of research about rabbits before i got my bunny, she lives indoors and is free roam ( as we got her before lockdown we haven’t been able to get her a friend but we are starting to look at rescue bunny’s!) bunnies should never be considered a ‘starter pet’ as they require a lot of proper care and love!
I'm trying to convince my parents to let me get one I've done TONS of research and have many friends that have had rabbits for years in getting close. (Also where I live they are having a bunny adoption day and all the money is given to our community groups like the church and 4h.)
I’ve wanted a pet other than a fish, so I looked at bunnies and did research and begged my parents. Unfortunately I wasn’t allowed so I did research on a dog. I’m still begging, hopefully it’ll work!
No pet is a “starter pet” especially bunnies, they need a lot of care and responsibilities. Not even fish are starter pets, yes fish are easier but you have to clean the tank and feed the fish and it ends up kinda hard especially for kids.
I'd reccomend pet sitting for people who are on vacation or something if people want to practice or learn about it in real life. Or get a pet rock or plushie if it's for decoration (because sadly people still think of some pets as decoration).
I asked for a bunny from my family for MONTHS! I would never treat my bunny like that! I got him in September and I still haven’t picked him up for fear that he’ll get scared!
IKR! Just went to look on their channel couldn’t find the video. I started looking through their videos about bunnies and was shocked to see how they care for them. :( Breaks my heart
@@Mythical4227 TH-cam family channels are notorious for dodging flak by just sweeping it under the rug, TH-cam sees them as their biggest source of income(which unfortunately they are) so they take priority.

I've never been irresponsible or immature as a child so I can't agree with the "don't blame the kids" entirely even though I do understand where this may be coming from but it certainly highlights bad parenting in the adults parts
I agree with you so much Amelia and Watson. I got my first bunny at 8 and I was even worse to them. (My worst regret with rabbits). I take what I take as wonderful care of my rabbit and love her so much. She has a big pen lots f hay and water from a cowl. She gets 1/4 cup pellets and veggies everyday. She actually just got spayed on Thursday and recovery is going great. I owe my knowledge to you Loreli thank you!
Actually, stupid people need to educate themselves before getting a pet. Like how arrogant can you be to just get any pet without doing any form of research. These creatures are living beings!
My aunt let her 3 year old have a rabbit... Small cage, waterbottle, dirty stuff, no toys, the kid attacked the rabbit constantly so she gave me it. @@lavacaqueri5454 yeah I agree. however as long as a parent and their child does research and the parent teaches the child to be gentle with the rabbit then it is all good
I honestly was no prepared for the amount of work I spend taking care of this bunny. It's not a chore by any means, but I was under the impression that bunnies would be "easy" as well, and I'm a 35 year old woman. One of my (older) nephews came over to see our new bunny the week we got him. My nephew was holding him, and obviously my little bun is adorable, so he said he wanted one. And my immediate response was: "They are SO MUCH MORE work than a cat or dog." To which he said "ok, nevermind" lol But in my head I was like "little man, you are not prepared for this, and your dad would be doing all the work" I mean, I clean out my bun's litter boxes every 1-2 days. I deep clean his things once a week. Every morning, I hop into his playpen and sweep up any stray bedding and hay. I want to free roam him, but I can't just yet because he's still so small (3 months), and I can't leave him alone with my cat or dog for more than 1 minute (even though they have been very good with him so far, they still have instincts to hunt). So it's actually more work NOT free-roaming him, because I keep him in his play pen while I work from home. And when I'm done with work, I take him into the bedroom with me for a couple of hours and let him run around the room. Then I have to put him to bed.
It honestly breaks my heart to see people treating bunnies this way. People need to understand that bunnies can be such loyal and caring pets if you give them a chance.
Damn I wish people would study more before they got animals The fact is they probably cut the bunnies hair by them selfs blamed it on the kids for clout and framed it as a a surprise
My parents got me a bunny when I was 11, they didn’t do any research so we started off not knowing anything but this Chanel helped me out so much and my bunny is doing great!!!
A mom that treats her right, and teaches others about ideal rabbit care, so other rabbits can feel the same way she does. Lennon is so lucky to have such an amazing mom like you!!
Aww I had one when I was 5 to 8 my mum looked after her and she sadly passed due to hypothermia I think it was all shock because her pal passed and then we had an especially cold winter that year.
Lorelei, you’re stepping up your glow with every subsequent upload - in a year you’ll either be Selena reincarnated or just manifest as pure sunlight in your vids.
"No manches! What happened?" Well, a little kid grabbed the hair cutter and tried to shave the bunny. Who leaves a hair cutter within the reach of a small child?
Supervised playtime is SO important with small animals and children. Everytime a young relative comes over I always makes sure playtime is on the floor and supervised with rules I've told them before hand about being gentle and letting the bunny come to them. Kids will listen of you tell them how to behave around a bunny but it's up to you to make sure nothing happens. It's also important to make sure the bunny has a secure playpen or a babygated room to be safe and sound if there are children or dogs in the home.
lookin at their youtube channel they: -initially only got one bunny -lost the bunnies at some point - they returned the bunnies to the pet shop 1 month after getting them -brought pets multiple times "for the kids" and returned them because "the kids didn't like their new pet! [shocked emoji]"
It sounds like they get the pets to get "funny" videos of the kids with the pets which is disgusting. They get living animals to torture them for views, gross 🤢
My cousins have a bunny and it is living in very poor conditions. The poor thing is kept in a little cage and doesn’t even have a litter box. It’s only fed a large amount of pellets, and it has a water bottle too. I tried to give them some tips but they always get defensive. I don’t know what to do and I feel awful for the poor rabbit.
I used to own a black flemish giant rabbit named scout, he free roamed(but he wasn't allowed up the stairs). i was probably 9 when we got him and we took such good care of him, kids can own bunnies if they can properly care for them. I love you videos!
My heart completely shattered when I saw the fur. I looked over at my bun who was lying down beside me and felt like crying. Please people, I implore you, do your research before getting a pet! Lorelei is out here doing her best everyday to help bunny parents, teaching them FREE! You have NO excuse! Do your research!
I love how Lorelei always points out not to blame the kids but the parents. They are the one who bought the bunnies. Seriously I hate the fact that people think it’s okay to buy a bunny for children just because they are “huge hamsters“ or something. No! They are incredible creatures but also a lot of work!
100% Also im pretty sure hamsters are hard to take care of to.Most people think that hamsters and bunny's are stater pets bc there small, HOWEVER...that just makes it harder to find them and stuff.
Oml its genuinely disgusting. I feel like people should atleast educate their kids and make sure they're at a mature age before getting a bunny. This is rather upsetting
To think, I used to have a rabbit in a small cardboard box while feeding it pellets, after I watched this channel, I watched every video, my bunnies now have bowls and hiding places places and they can run around wherever they want and they even have a litter box
I feel absolutely disturbed just thinking about how much more dogs are loved then rabbits. Rabbits should be loved the same as dogs. It's uneccaptable.
I'm sure you didn't intend to word it this way, but you kind of made it seem like you find it unacceptable that dogs are more popular pets than bunnies.
People love dogs more because they reciprocate love and require less care and they are faithful they dont run away if we dont put the leash, bunnies are cuter imo but its explainable why they are mistreated and i feel people should not have bunnies as pets if they cant commit to the responsibilities
All bunnies need is 24 7 care and they wouldnt even reciprocate the love care even one bit its like if the owner has all of the time in their life then yep bunnies could be an option otherwise dogs all the wayyyy!

Try to bring up the fact that a bunny can provide you with emotional support, and teach them about the animal because understanding the animal will make them less likely to say not. Good luck!
Do lots and lots and lots of research, express your interest in rabbits. Put together a power point of the basic care needs, how it would work for you, where the bunny would be kept etc
I really don’t mean to bully the family or harass them at all, but it speaks volumes to me; how they framed and set up the kids, the bunny, razor, and hair for that thumbnail. It only further drives the point that this incident was possibly monopolized for the sake of views or the vlog.

Is anyone else's bunny really like food. I see Lenton calmly eat a banana if I give a banana to my rabbit he will gobble it down in seconds, like he will do anything for food ( I swear I do feed him 3 meals a day and hay)
Glad you teach how to care for buns. We learned thru research and our bunny teaching us. Our bunnies go in our fenced garden on nice days with supervision. They learned from our dog about asking if they could go outside, so we bunny proofed the garden fence. They love it, because they can eat the bunny safe greens.
I was 12 when I got ny bun but he's always been a free roam and he has a balanced diet, unlimited hay, brushed all the time and he is getting a little friend after quarantine :) not all kids can have bunnies of course but some cases I think it's ok
I'm in 6th grade, and I have 2 rabbits but I've never treated them like this they have their own room and get to sleep in my bed if they want the basically have the whole house to them
I hate to say this but I almost feel like the adults shaved off the bunny's fur for a video and told their kids about it, like they are doing a bit. Just the placement of the fur and shaving tools... it just seemed so.... staged. There seemed to be more fur on the ground than what looked to be chopped off from the bunny. Like what adult father has his shaving kit in reach of children? You COULD say that the kit was in a cabinet under the sink, but USUALLY parents with kids that age still have locks on some drawers that possibly contain things like chemical cleaners (things that might be under a sink). You could even say that maybe he had used it that morning and it was open on the bathroom counter... but that just seems like... anything sharp ... most parents just instinctively know to put that stuff away, out of reach of 10 year olds and younger. Not to mention, kids instinctively go for the scissors! Not dad's shaving kit that they have to plug into a wall and doesn't reach very far. The fact that the dad is not really reprimanding them also reinforces the idea that the parents told them to 'play along' before they filmed the video.
I rly hate it when people treat their bunnies like trash. I mean, bunnies are SUPER loving after you’ve bonded with them and they can’t just be treated like objects
For those that watch my videos, you guys know i have 2 kids... my oldest daughter is the most gentle soul. My son is a younger & I'm teaching him to be gentle & it's going good. Totally agree. We have a 5 year old and 1 year old son, and a 8 month old free roam Netherland dwarf. Our kids are so loving and affectionate to our rabbit, 4 cats, hamsters and gerbils. Saying ‘this is why rabbits and children don’t belong together’ over ONE video you’ve found online totally gives bad vibes to families with children who’s rabbits are well loved and taken care of. I think that’s the point of saying animals don’t belong with kids, bc they shouldn’t be the primary owners of living things that need taking care of, since they themselves need taken care of...

Committed to free roam before I knew what it was. Buns in cages or coops just don't look happy at all

It's horrifying, you could easily break the poor rabbit's leg
And they said after they got the bunnies they were going to go into petsmart and figure out what they need for them 😑
I really hope their next video is a bunny set up update for the bunnies sake.
So cute.

Yes also how would they come in there at that moment exactly it’s just so cruel that they would do that anyway

Exactly! My brother begged for a rabbit and we were planning to get one, as soon as I found out I did a ton of research and now (I can’t free roam my bunny 24/7) he lives in a playpen and he freeroams for around 30 mins a day, or every other day, and we’re planning to get him a little friend
@@M1_1SHR00M he should free roam for an hour or 2
I agree wholeheartedly!

Bunnies are one of the worst pets for kids. They are prey animals and require time and pacience in order to bond with their owners. Kids are going to be hyper, it's normal, but people shouldn't give them living beings as toys.

And my immediate response was: "They are SO MUCH MORE work than a cat or dog."
To which he said "ok, nevermind" lol
But in my head I was like "little man, you are not prepared for this, and your dad would be doing all the work"
I mean, I clean out my bun's litter boxes every 1-2 days.

Supervised playtime is SO important with small animals and children. Kids will listen of you tell them how to behave around a bunny but it's up to you to make sure nothing happens. It's also important to make sure the bunny has a secure playpen or a babygated room to be safe and sound if there are children or dogs in the home.

I’m 11 too, and I agree, some kids can’t be trusted, but some can. Like for example, my 6 y/o cousin would literally grab my bun by his fur and hold him. I got really mad at him so I slapped him.. (but yeah lol, then he learned his lesson) but anyways I have a sister that is also 6 y/o and she knows what’s right and what’s wrong, and she can be trusted, but I also have to watch her just incase, but what I’m saying is that some kids understand and some don’t, so yeah not all kids are like that.
Lorelei,I'm so grateful for your chanel my bunny used to be my cousins and it had a bad life now it's mine and when I started watching you now my bunny has an x pen, water, hidi house, toys and us potty trained so ty for inspiring to give my bunny a quality life!❤️
wow this is awful. the parents are making it seems like it’s the kids fault but kids don’t know best especially when it comes to bunnies. there’s so many things wrong with this. i wish i could adopt those poor bunnies, they don’t deserve to live a horrible life like this :/
Same😣
I just went on their channel and found a video of them saying goodbye to the buns...and at the really beginning, in the background I see the KAYTEE bunny cage/pen that you did a video on 🤦🏽♀️
I love you Lorelei, thank you for making this video and spreading awareness. Many people need it and I hope the Jancy family does see this because it might teach them a thing or two about rabbits. They are living creatures and not toys. I have learned so much from you and thanks to you and Lennon my rabbit lives a happy and healthy life. Rock on girl!
I completely agree with everything that you said. I would just like to say that the kids also could get hurt sing the clippers.
When u feel special cuz you’re early
OMG
OMG SAME! hehehe 😂😁😭❤️
😃true
Same!!!!
I think its weird how the parents filmed the whole situation.
I’m 11 and I have two free roamed bunnies that are litter trained and have unlimited hay that is fresh and have been spayed they are both 1 years old and flop a lot 🥰 kids can have rabbits maybe not very small kids🥰🥰🥰🥰 love u btw
I agree, and I’m 11 too!
I have 1 bunny and it free roams+we give it a BUNCHA hay lol
I'm a child too and I'm glad I have a Dutch Rabbit (because of the grooming)
@Snowy The Bunny That's very nice to know!
Kids can have rabbits, at a certain age that they understand the responsibility. I had my first rabbit at 15, sadly he died of gi stasis. I now have another rabbit, and taking the very best care.
Not all children are like that. I am twelve years but I know a lot about rabbits😤😤
She meant toddlers
I'm 11 and my rabbit is sleeping right next to me
Sometimes children can be very chaotic, but most of the time it is very young kidsyou seem very responsibe! :)
I am 9
No, not all children are like that. My brother was 10 years old when we got our bunny. Although he didn't know much about rabbit care in the first place, he was still willing to learn, and we did our research together. Now our bunny is free-roaming in my brother's room, and he's very happy.
omg i haven't watched your videos in WAY TOO LONG! I'm glad I remembered you lol
I clicked faster than my rabbits can mess up their whole cage
Lorelei, how do you handle watching this and keeping it together? 🥺 I have many cases here in Peru where people don’t do the research and treat them that way and i seriously can’t watch it. If i could adopt much more bunnies i would but i realized you can’t do much sometimes. Much love to you and Lennon ❤️
I have to really control myself
I begged for my rabbit since I was 7 I got him when I was 11 I researched and right now, my bun is sleeping next to me............. Doing a flop
Make sure you have several rabbits or they can get very sad and lonely. Dont fight me on this it's a fact.
@@lilyjones4289 You are aware of the channel you're doing this on right? She has just one rabbit. Or does she get away with it cos she's got subs?
@@seajay632 no its coz she is with him 24/7 so he doesnt need a companion coz he is never alone. Rabbits ALWAYS need company
@@lilyjones4289 no, they need 5 hrs.

I am a teen and I have two rabbits. I take care and give them everything. 🥺🥺
Dude when it got to the part when the parents walked in the room a d and the kids came out of the closet I was literally about to punch my wall this family makes me so mad and I was about to loose it when the girl said " I only cut a little" 😭🙄😠 I AM FURIOUS!!
my bunny passed away last night. he had an extremely swollen stomach. he was my everything and your channel makes me feel so much better
@Janiyah Williams thank you :)
May your bunny Rest In Peace..I know how it feels because my bunny sacrificed himself for me and my family..
@@xirexxiroxii9577 I'm so sorry for your loss too. How did he saciffice himself if you don't mind me asking? R.I.P To your bunny too. Xx
My bunnies are literally my children. I love them like my own daughters. I could never do anything which will hurt them.
Hey! So i have anxiety and stuff so I was wondering how can I convince my parents to let me get a bunny (or and emotional support bunny) because I feel like it would personally help me out a lot and etc. And i have heard you and Lennons story and how much she helped you and yea.
Try to bring up the fact that a bunny can provide you with emotional support, and teach them about the animal because understanding the animal will make them less likely to say not. Good luck!
Sadly if you still have piggies you cannot have a rabbit! Their droppings are toxic and you should take a chance.
@@Ruby-l3d thank you💕
@@avaginsberg227 we are keeping the bunny and piggies separated
Do lots and lots and lots of research, express your interest in rabbits. Put together a power point of the basic care needs, how it would work for you, where the bunny would be kept etc
before picking up my bunny, i pet her a few times to make sure she is comfortable with being touched.
I really don’t mean to bully the family or harass them at all, but it speaks volumes to me; how they framed and set up the kids, the bunny, razor, and hair for that thumbnail. It only further drives the point that this incident was possibly monopolized for the sake of views or the vlog.
That’s one channel I won’t be watching.
me: in shock at their behaviour
Lorelei: the bunny could go into shock
Me: IM NOT SUPPRISED
Hi Lorelei! I’m new! I love your videos, so I subscribed! I just got 2 bunnies on my birthday! and i watched your videos to help my bunnies have a good life, and you helped! Tysm for your videos you make because now my bunnies have the best life! tysm!!!!
My bunny: is that Lorelei?
Me: yes.
My bunny rushes to me so she can watch
You coped some one

Yep
Is anyone else's bunny really like food. I see Lenton calmly eat a banana if I give a banana to my rabbit he will gobble it down in seconds, like he will do anything for food ( I swear I do feed him 3 meals a day and hay)
That’s normal :)
I'm in 6th grade, and I have 2 rabbits but I've never treated them like this they have their own room and get to sleep in my bed if they want the basically have the whole house to them
That's amazing good on you ❤
Im getting one soon and im gonna free roam them in my room too and also maybe have the cage (only a home base where the bed is ok) in my room
That’s awesome!
I hate to say this but
I almost feel like the adults shaved off the bunny's fur for a video and told their kids about it, like they are doing a bit.
That "bunny cage" Is literally smaller than the cage I had for 2 guinea pigs.
I rly hate it when people treat their bunnies like trash. I mean, bunnies are SUPER loving after you’ve bonded with them and they can’t just be treated like objects
You know, me and my bunny, both watch your videos.
Difference is, I watch you, and my bunny watches Lennon🤣🤣
For those that watch my videos, you guys know i have 2 kids... my oldest daughter is the most gentle soul. My son is a younger & I'm teaching him to be gentle & it's going good. My bun is happy & isn't harmed. This gives us moms a bad name... Those kids look like my duaghters age & she knows to only pet Benito... this is just sad & ngelecful ): UGH.....
Then again, it’s easy to be a single woman without children telling others with kids what pets to not get 🥴🤦🏻♀️
@@emilytulk8042 omg I have a one year old & 5 year old too!!! Lol & I’m sure loralei is raising awareness to those parents who are like these in the video... there’s a lot. Their video is just awful & it would never happen in my home. Hopefully this can educate those parents that are just like the ones in the video! Bunnies aren’t toys 👌🏻
@@emilytulk8042 I think the difference is in if the bunny is treated as the kids pet or if it’s the adult who is the owner that also has children and teaches them how to treat an animal.
Too often parents get pets for kids and then never show interest in that animal... I think that’s the point of saying animals don’t belong with kids, bc they shouldn’t be the primary owners of living things that need taking care of, since they themselves need taken care of...
me and my older brother r trying to teach our little bro how to be gentle.
The poor thing got harmed :( but he didnt cut her so thats the only good thing
YOU MUSTTT have several rabbits or your bun will get stressed and lonely. Its absolutely MANDATORY for you to have a bare minimum of 2 rabbits. Plz get another!!
