    This was all during the first season of Lost In Space when the show was in black and white, but had a much more serious tone.

    I have family that live out in Las Vegas so when I ever visit them I’m going to take a side trip and hike the trail because it’s on my bucket list of course I am 59 and still a huge fan of the show as I watch it every Saturday evening on MeTV at 1 AM Eastern.

    I see that the protrusion on the right side of that pinnacle where the Jupiter 2 passed by has fallen off since then, but otherwise it's still exactly the same! And the other pinnacle where the Chariot passed by is still exactly the same!
    How far is the nearest store to that site? 😅
    Hey, I just now saw that this is by far your most viewed video! You should do more filming location videos! 🙂

      There is a camping area at the Pinnacles that had a small store. Once you enter the park, you will have to drive about two miles on a VERY BUMPY dirt and gravel road, so be prepared for that.

    In 2016, I visited both places of the filming locations of the classic "Lost In Space.". It was amazing. 👍🤠👍 Congratulation to all of your family venturing into the world of " Lost in Space.". Hope your children will appreciate your heart of the classic 1960's TV series.😖 We never see these legendary classic family shows again. Today's TV shows are awful because WOKE, identity politics, SJW, and multiculturalism dominated the Hollywood media nowadays. 😱

    Wouldn't it be nice to have that many earth like planets that every planet you landed on you could breathe the air. Sad to say over half a century later to learn that earth like planets are rare as a diamond. It destroyed my childhood dream.

    Thanks! Plan to visit later this year. Always wondered were exactly those scenes were filmed.

    as a kid I was fascinated by the scenes of the chariot motoring around. The music was perfect for the scene. "will will..". I just left Palmdale and that area but didn't make it over to the pinnacles. I will on my next trip.
    Note: The music score for the show was done by "Johnnie Williams" on the screen credits that would flash by. Later of course known as John Williams and the hit sci fi movies he worked with.

    Thank you for posting this video, I’ve always wanted to know where those desert scenes were filmed. This was my favorite TV show growing up as a boy. You know it’s funny, all this time I’ve wondered where those locations were, and they’re only 30 miles from where I now live & grew up as a boy.❤️

      You've been living only 30 miles from that site and just discovered 2 years ago that's where they filmed those scenes?
      Sure glad you finally found out! So have you visited there like this family did or what?? Hope so! 🙂

    What state were these shots taken in California and or Nevada or ? specifically what city or area? Is there camping there or nearby for rv’s?

    • @DBoysen1
      @DBoysen1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both are in Southern California. Trona is just a bit southwest of Death Valley and I believe they do allow camping there. No water or electric hook up though. Red Rock Canyon is about 40 miles south of Trona, right off State Hwy 14 and there are plenty of campsites nearby.

    i was there (Hagen C and Trona P) recently after 17 years from my first trip. I like recreating scenes. I got a few good ones of the jet pack pinnacle and the path of the Jupiter 2 thru the windscreen just before crashing.
    I found the approximate location of the downed cyclops at Hagen Canyon...would be happy to share some fotos and maybe you guys could find the exact spot. Cannot find the spot where the giant threw rocks at the chariot. Had to be high enough to get a blue sky background though. I may be back to Red Rock in the late summer early fall.
    Let's collaborate!

    I plan on visiting from for the first time in a few weeks. Flying out to LA from Florida. I would like to find the exact locations of these rock formations.

    • @DBoysen1
      @DBoysen1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hard to remember the exact spots. At Hagen Canyon, stay to your left from the parking lot. Follow the trails back about 1/2 mile. You will pass one formation just inside the canyon, but it's not it. Keep walking and keep looking to your left. At The Pinnacles, you just kind of have to drive around until you see familiar formations. Helps to have a few screen shots with you for reference. STAY ON THE PATH though if you are driving, if you go off the path you will get stuck in the sand. Good luck and have fun.

      Looking at it on Google Maps, satellite view, heading north on 14, do I turn left at Abbott Dr and park at the Hagen Canyon parking area just 200 ft west of 14? Is that the trailhead?

    • @DBoysen1
      @DBoysen1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@richwhippersnapper Yes, it starts right from the parking lot. If you have time you should check out Vasquez Rocks as well.

    • @richwhippersnapper

      At the Visitor Center, or near the intersection of 14 & Abbott Dr? Looking at it on Google Maps. Yes I also plan to visit Vasquez Rocks, Filming location of many Star Trek episodes. I saved both on my Garmin GPS. Thanks!
